  • Spectacular setting!

"Stayed here for a sisters get-away and loved every minute of it. The house looked just like it was advertised (albeit on the small side) and the deck is simply incredible (most of your time will be spent outdoors). We couldn't have asked for better weather - sunny and warm/hot every day. Lots of great restaurants/shopping close by. Just an hour or so away from amazing wineries in Santa Ynez. Solvang is a great day trip. I would suggest going up the San Marcos pass but come back on the 101 to make the complete loop. Favorite restaurants were Lure Fish House (Ventura) and the Padero Beach Grill (Carpenteria). Great views from the outdoor patio at the Biltmore 4 Seasons hotel in Montecito. The beach was great for afternoon walks when the tide was out. It was fantastic when the tide was in during the evening hours as the water came up onto the deck and the noise was wonderful from the waves. Although the train goes by several times a day, it was quick and you rarely heard it. Would have liked 2 full bathrooms but we made it work with 4 sisters. Highly recommend! Great freeway access halfway between Ventura and Santa Barbara. Less than an hour drive from the Burbank airport."

  • Hummingbird Cottage

"My wife and I spent 18 great nights at the Hummingbird Cottage. It's conveniently located less than a half mile from the heart of Ventura, so there wasn't a need to drive to have a meal or a Starbux. The cottage is perfect for 2 people. The kitchen is a tad small but we were able to buy food at the local market and make several meals. The cottage doesn't have - and doesn't need - air conditioning. We left the windows open and snuggled each night in the bed. In the afternoon I'd sit in the shade next to the cottage to catch up on my reading. Very relaxing. Sandra is a great hostess. Upon arrival we found fresh fruit in the frig and freshly homemade turnovers. During the stay Sandra stopped by to provide us with more fresh fruit - the strawberries were fantastic - and freshly baked cookies."

  • Great time

"First time at this cottage met all expectations. We spent several days with 5 adults, 2 teenage girls and an infant. House was exceptionally clean and was well appointed. The beach was steps away and the sunsets were beautiful. We were very pleased and would definitely choose this place again. Our host kept in touch with us during our stay. Thanks again John."

  • Peaceful beach retreat - walking distance to restaurants and market

"We recently enjoyed a week long stay at this wonderful beach cottage and left wanting more. The yard and pond were lovely and tranquil, so much so we had to keep reminding ourselves that the beach was just down the road. The beach was conveniently located at the end of the street and all we had to do was bring our boogie boards. On that note, the semi private outdoor shower with hot and cold water was a nice touch after a day at the beach. The cottage itself had a very open and comfortable layout. The bedrooms had plenty of storage for our things and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed walking to the local restaurants for dinner and the yogurt shop just a few blacks away. There's a lot to do in the area... our Son attended a surf camp for a couple of days at Mondos Beach (10 minutes away), and we had a great day trip to Santa Barbara. The owners were nice and great to work with; we're looking forward to booking again!"
