  • Very relaxing and so adorable!!!!!

"Ok. I have to absolutely agree with the other comments and tell you how sweet the owners are. Very pleasant and are very assuring that she will be there for anything you may need. It is cozy, quiet, private, and relaxing. It was very nice that the fridge and freezer had plenty of bait to use as well. There were only a couple things that I didn't like. It wasn't perfectly clean but that wasn't what bothered me......I pulled out the trundle bed and found a couple mice droppings and tiny yellow pee spots. So I put it back and didn't end up using it. That piqued my interest so I looked around. Noticed a ton of dropping in the bathroom behind the toilet and around sink. My only other Concern was that the sheets on the queen bed didn't look clean. I saw dog hair on them and they didn't exactly have the fresh laundry scent. They looked slept in. I'm not super picky but thought that these were things that should definitely have been noticed and taken care of prior to our arrival. I found some Lysol wipes and did a scrub down. But other than that it is quite adorable and quiet. Unfortunately we didn't catch anything but one catfish. I don't want this to be a negative review cause my issues could have been a honest mistake. It is a mini house on the dock, so very possible a mouse could be hanging around. The sheets on the trundle looked clean besides what I saw. It truly is a gem! I would stay again I just wanted to post this so that extra precaution is taken to assure this doesn't occur again."

  • Difficulty in making timely plan

"I overpaid for this property because it was one of just a few venues available for UC Davis graduation weekend. The problem was not with the house but with the management- The contract came in with the wrong dates, the address was never included in the contract and the owner was weeks if not months getting back to me after my initial inquiry months and months ago. That being said, the only problems with the house itself was, no BBQ when we arrived and the first night we had planned a family BBQ and secondly, a smoke alarm that constantly beeped from the locked owner's loft. When I contacted the owner, she said that it would be taken care of- what we got was a new battery left in the kitchen by the housekeeper and the beeping continued throughout our stay. Finally, when I asked when I could expect my security deposit to be returned (we left the place cleaner than we found it (although it was in reasonably good shape) I have yet to get a response."

  • Home Sale Respite

"We are seniors, selling our house in the Bay Area after 30 years. We wanted a place to hang out during the first week after our house went on the market, and since we're planning to move to the Delta, this could not have been more perfect. We don't have a boat, so we weren't able to take advantage of the dock, but it didn't matter. The furnishings are breathtaking, the yard is beautiful, and we just caught ourselves up after weeks of pushing the house sale. An unplanned benefit is that our cellular carrier has no coverage here, so no unwanted interruptions; yet the wi-fi allowed us to stay in touch when we wanted to. The bathtub is truly outstanding. We couldn't have enjoyed it more!"

  • Perfect Home Away from Home

"My husband and I rented this house for a week while visiting family and sightseeing. We had my mom and aunt traveling with us and the house was perfect for the four of us. The house is set up with the master bedroom on one side of the living area and two bedrooms on the other side. The two bedrooms are at each end of a hallway with a bathroom and laundry room in between. This arrangment gave each of us plenty of privacy. The neighborhood is lovely and quiet, very convenient to downtown and other amenities, and the greenbelt is accessible at the end of the street. The living area is larger than it looks in the pictures, comfortably furnished, and we had plenty of room to spread out. The backyard is lovely and the master bedroom has a private enclosed patio as well. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a large island with plenty of space for preparing food. Valerie was wonderful to work with, very responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed. We loved our stay here and would definitely return. We recommend the Farmer's Market, the arboretum on the UC-Davis campus, the Artery (artists coop downtown), and the following restaurants: Seasons, Burgers and Brew, and Cafe Bernardo for breakfast."

Central Valley Travel Tips

Vacation in Style in California Central Valley Vacation Rentals

A large number of California central valley vacation rentals are located in the delta area. This encompasses the communities of Bethal Island, Discovery Bay, Loche, Rio Vista, and Walnut Grove. The main attraction here is boating. Many of the vacation homes are located close to fast water areas so if you have a power boat or jet ski this is where you want to be. The views over the water are magnificent. If your rental home has a waterfront deck, as many of them do, you can spend the evenings out there watching the sunset and enjoying a barbecue while waiting for the stars to come out. The central valley has a peaceful unrushed vibe about it and many of the vacation homes are located in beautiful settings, either on the waterfront or in scenic valleys. It's the perfect destination to escape the bustle of busy city life and take some time to relax and rejuvenate the soul.

Occasionally, thunderstorms may occur in the Sacramento area in late summer. The area is largely agricultural with the valley producing a phenomenal 25 percent of America's fresh produce. Tourists who visit in the summer and fall seasons can sample some of the fine produce at the many markets and farm stalls. The region is a popular summer destination, although the mountainous areas offer fantastic skiing and winter sports. If you happen to visiting during the rainy season, you can always snuggle up in front of the fireplace and enjoy the views from your window.

What There is to see Near California Central Valley Houses

The region has a rich pioneering history, particularly in the areas around Sacramento. Visit museums and historic sites that share stories of gold mining legends and the early pioneering days. The central valley is also extremely well known for producing award-winning wines. Whether you just enjoy a casual glass of wine or consider yourself to be more of a connoisseur, sampling wines from the various vineyards is a great experience.
