"We were looking for a quiet place with plenty of room for our visit to the Sequoias and this place worked great. The kids loved being able to stay on a farm and had a blast playing hide-n-seek in all the rooms. They also provided plenty of food for breakfast and lots of farm fresh fruit. We felt very comfortable having our kids there, which is always a big deal for us. It is good to know that this is an old farmhouse and although they have kept it up nicely, it will have its own farmhouse charms. It feels a lot like staying at your grandma's house, which we liked. But if you are looking for something more modern and with less quirks, you might be disappointed. Our last night there, there was also a wedding on the property which was definitely inconvenient, but the owner was great at stepping up and making things right. The house is a reasonable distance between Kings Canyons and Sequoias making it easy to get to both, but the large trees are actually about an hour+ drive away from the entrance, so it isn't as close as staying in the park itself."Guest: Angie J. "First I must say that Scott and Demi are incredible people. They had a cancelation and were able to take us at the last minute when another place fell through. They were my angels! They were very considerate, flexible, and generous. I could tell that they really cared about us and people in general. It was a great place for me and my bridal party to stay the night before my wedding and bake a pizza. We were all able to get ready there in the morning and the Grand Island Mansion was just a ferry ride away. My brides maids were all very impressed with the bathrooms. There was plenty of room for parking. After the wedding ended at 4, I returned and took in the wonderful sight of my close friends and family sitting in the numerous chairs and tables on the deck out back overlooking the water. They swam off the dock, played horse shoes, snacked, and socialized. They all had a great time and many commented that they would like to rent this home someday. When they all left, it was the perfect spot for my husband and I to spend our first night together as man and wife. We will definitely be returning in the future, perhaps for the occasional anniversary escape! Simply beautiful, thank you a million times over! I recommend this for anyone."Guest: Angie Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: June 27, 2014View listing
"I want to live here, enough said. But I have to tell ya's this place is so much fun especially for us boaters. We took advantage of the glass waters in the mornings and fun runs in the early evenings. The game room has a Marti Gras theme and we had fun viewing the decorations while playing pool. The hot tub is a great treat at the end of the day for relaxing and the kitchen is fully stocked with all you need to prepare the food you bring. We also had plenty of room to sprawl out and do our own thing."Guest: Robert H. Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 5, 2014View listing
"We had a great stay. Clean, comfy, homey. Steve and Joanie were wonderful hosts. They made us feel like we were visiting family. Not a place for those seeking high-end luxury but a great retreat from the rat-race where you can relax and put your feet up on the coffee table. The freshly cut flowers in each room were delightful and the "just-picked-off-the-tree orange juice" was nectar from heaven. We would return in a heartbeat. Thanks Steve and Joanie!"Guest: Wade and Janet Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 17, 2014View listing
