  • Really nice casita, quiet and great for stargazing

"We are an elderly couple and stayed 3 nights in this lovely home. I was amazed at how well it was furnished, down to the smallest detail. Did you forget coffee? no problem, you have a choice here. Even peanut butter and jelly! Soap, Shampoo, Lotion? lots of it. You name it and it's likely you'll find it here. Very quiet location outside of town, with a wonderful view to the mountains in the west. It was so relaxing to watch the sun go down and the stars come out. Downstairs is a great kitchen, granite counter tops and all the appliances in great working order. Very nice dishes and cutlery, pots and pans. Easy to feel at home here! Living area is compact and comfortable, master bedroom has walk in closet and lots of amenities, master bath is large. Only thing to be aware of is that the downstairs (master) tub/shower is not really suitable for someone with mobility limitations. Upstairs is another nice bedroom and another nice bathroom. It really is a home away from home, with all your needs thoughtfully anticipated and provided! I can't think of anything we could have asked for that wasn't already supplied. Very nice accommodations, very clean, and we recommend it without hesitation. BTW, they do accept pets, although we did not bring our cats along. We opened the door and at first glance said, "This is NICE!" Thank you for a great place to stay and relax away from traffic and noise."

  • Interesting low-key destination

"Rented this vacation home for the month and wanted to pass on a few things should you be considering Borrego Springs, and this vacation home in particular. NB> I can't really say I'm new at VRBO/Homeaway as I've spent 6 months renting various places thru out the American Southwest. That being said, the following are a few points you may find helpful. - The home itself is larger than the pictures convey. I had 4 relatives visit over the time I was there and they all said the same thing. - Three full bathrooms is a definite plus. This, and the overall size, made this vacation home, monthly price competitive, with any of the dozen vacation homes I've rented. - No rear neighbours. Except for a telephone line, there is an unobstructed sunrise view to; a thru road at half a mile, a golf course/resort at a mile - and Fonts point at the horizon. - Neighbourhood: quiet. Double O Road is not a thru road, no issues with nearby neighbours/noise. - All appliances worked as described, dvd and wireless not so. My guests gave up on trying to play any dvds. Wireless was not a rental issue but a local, ISP reliability issue which was affecting various neighbourhoods in Borrego. If you are fine with a town of only 3000..... in the middle of the desert, ( personally, this is what I wanted), are looking to do abit of light hiking and occassional day trips to the coast or the Coachella Valley etc, then this place would be totally adequate. If you are expecting; stoplights, fast food takeout, nightclubs, shopping experiences etc. then probably not. I "would" recommend; an AWD ( alot of trailheads are not suitable for a car.) and a laid back approach that this is NOT Palm Springs, . You WILL have desert critters around"

  • Great desert getaway

"We just spent 5 days in Borrego Springs in this great little condo. It had everything we needed--fully stocked kitchen, bath, wifi and even straw hits and pool "noodles". The property was very quiet--it often felt like we were the only ones there. Great little patio for morning coffee and walking distance from a well-stocked market and several restaurants. The surrounding Anza-Borrego desert is a treasure trove of hikes, plants and wildlife. Truly just what we needed to dry out our Pacific Northwest bones."

  • Great escape from Pacific Northwest rain

"We truly enjoyed our two weeks of comfort, relaxation and quiet at your villa in Ram's Hill, for the second year! We love the tile floors, fully equipped/updated kitchen and bathrooms, comfy beds, open great room, wonderful (2) patio areas and beautiful view. We always sleep with our bedroom slider open so the frogs in the pond below us, and the coyotes in the surrounding desert, can serenade us to sleep. An added plus is the wonderful folks we have met in the neighborhood! Borrego Springs is a great place for hiking, biking , golf and more golf -the new Ram's Hill course is incredible and challenging (though a bit $$) - you can also find great deals and fairways at other golf courses in town. The property (inside and out) is clean, well maintained and has an artsy feel. We like the small town "vibe" of Borrego - farmer's market, small restaurants, friendly local people and little traffic. Surrounded by Anza-Borrego State Park adds to it's allure and provides opportunities for many workshops, lectures, guided hikes, etc if one has an interest in astronomy, geology, history, native ethnography... We are looking forward to our next stay at your lovely desert home!"
