  • Condo at Mission Hills

"Very nice condo with a great location. Very close community pool only utilized by 2 adjacent condos. Now that the pool is heated by solar, no down days for heating. Condo very well outfitted with all the tools to be comfortable. Allowing the use of the golf cart is a big bonus. Very convenient to use to get to golf and tennis. We would gladly search out this property on our next stay in Rancho Mirage."

  • Great location and a peaceful setting!

"The Village Racquet Club is about a 10 minute walk to the heart of downtown - to all the restaurants, shops, clubs, the"Happy Hours" and various outdoor markets. The grounds are nicely landscaped and groomed, the pools are cleaned daily, and the complex is secure, quiet and friendly. The townhouse itself is nicely furnished. Although it can sleep 6, we found it comfortably spacious for 4 with the layout providing privacy for everyone. There's a balcony off the living room which provides a nice view of the courtyard/grounds and another patio downstairs (with BBQ) which opens up to he courtyard - steps away from the pool! Not all the pools are heated at the same time but if the one out front is too chilly for you, it's a 2 minute walk to the next pool which will be heated. There's ample room for both indoor and outdoor dining. It's not super modern (like some of the other condos we've rented) but I think that's what made it feel so comfortable and not pretentious. Mostly, we felt "at home" and Ben, the owner, is quick to answer any questions you may have. We rented the townhouse for a month this year and because we enjoyed it so much, we'll be returning next year for 2 months! It's also close to convenience stores or "Ralphs", a bigger grocery store, which has everything you would need. Although we had a car while we were there one could make due without one (unless you wanted to visit some of the parks and/or nature reserves, or do some serious shopping). We highly recommend this "home-away-from-home" townhouse. Thanks for your hospitality, Ben!"

  • Great house

"This was my first VRBO rental and I was absolutely delighted how well it worked out when we rented this place out on this labor day weekend.James and the property manager Kenny were "#awesome" in getting everything ready before we arrived..They were very prompt on replying back to our emails and our phone calls. We liked it very much and we definitely will rent the same place again on our next trip to palm springs(and it will happen when the weather outside is not 8000 degrees)..LOL..Thank you once again for being so responsible in taking care of people who rent your property.Cheers and hugs."

Deserts Travel Tips

California’s deserts are unique and spectacular places to visit. Located in the dry southeast of the state, the best known areas are the Mojave National Preserve, the Anza-Borrega State Park, and the National Parks of Joshua Tree and Death Valley. Each offering their own unique and stunning geological landscape, the unique flora and fauna which has adapted to these inhospitable conditions make any visit an incredible educational adventure.

Great Reasons to Choose California Desert Vacation Rentals

Staying in a California Desert vacation rental makes perfect sense. To make the most of any free-spirited vacation, flexibility is the key word and a spacious, fully equipped home away from home allows you to do what you want, when you want. No fixed meal times and plenty of privacy, you do not have to contend with noisy guests in adjoining rooms or loud music, unless it is coming from your own teenager’s private den! With space for all the family, a comfortable place to relax in the evenings and added extras such as hot tubs, in-house laundry and internet access, vacation rentals offer the very best base for exploring the California Desert.

Golfers and Outdoor Enthusiasts will Love our California Desert Lodging

These great expanses of desert at first glance appear to be complete wilderness areas but there are a host of ways to enjoy this amazing wonder of nature. The national parks offer excellent facilities for hikers with rock climbs and viewpoints with interpretive panels to explain how the geological wonders were formed. Mountain bikes and 4-wheel drive vehicles are great for exploring the rugged countryside and roads which are unsuitable for regular cars. Driving tours are the best way to cover the distances in the heat. Off-roading and horseback riding are allowed in certain areas. Explore the abandoned mines in the area, drive through the hostile Badlands, explore canyons, and discover long-forgotten ghost towns.

The California Desert is also a great area for golfers with many excellent golf courses around the areas of s Palm Springs and Palm Desert. Rock climbing, geocaching, picnicking and scenic drives are just some of the attractions available in this unique area.

Travel Tips for Reaching California Desert Resorts

Most visitors find they need a car to make the most of their stay in their California Desert lodging. The nearest airport is the John Wayne Airport at Santa Ana. Pick up a hire car to complete the journey which is around 86 miles to Palm Springs, 90 miles to La Quinta and 77 miles to Ranch Mirage. Los Angeles also offers a local air service to Palm Springs.

Four of the Best California Desert Neighborhoods

California deserts have several main communities, each offering a totally different experience of the area. Joshua Tree offers solitude, unique flora and fauna including the hardy Joshua trees, and endless nature trails. This is the perfect base for hikers, bikers and nature-lovers to explore the park, and appreciate this great outdoor experience. La Quinta lodging offers a country club lifestyle based around golf while Palm Desert and Palm Springs vacation rentals are luxury retreats in a hidden oasis with majestic mountains, palm trees, beautiful gardens and warm sunshine. There are also plenty of designer shopping malls nearby.

What to Expect from the California Desert Weather

The climate in the High Desert around Joshua Tree National Park is generally described as that of a mid-latitude desert with relatively moderate temperatures. The higher elevations will be seven to 10 degrees cooler than Joshua Tree and will get around three to four inches more rain per year.

In the winter, the average daily maximums range from 62 to 67 F but from May to October temperatures frequently exceed 100 F. July is the hottest month of all. Rainfall can be measured as just a fraction of an inch per month so for once, you can leave your all-weather gear behind!
