  • Nice and Comfortable

"Our family spent a week here and it met our needs very well. The place was clean, comfortable and quite. It was especially nice having the pool just outside the bedrooms."

  • A Fantastic Home away from Home!

"WOW! That was our very first reaction when entering this beautiful house for the first time. It was designer perfect, with the furnishings and accessories done by a talented decorator. The floor plan is very comfortable and it flows well from the central living and dining area to the bedrooms and the outside patio and pool. The owners of this home have thoughtfully stocked the kitchen with everything one could wish for, from beautiful and modern appliances to the finest in dishes, glassware and cooking and baking utensils. Cooking in this kitchen was a delight! Even the pantry was stocked with spices and such. There is a washer and dryer, and the house is equipped with WI FI, cable and five large-screened TVs, plus a golf cart and two bikes. We felt like royalty in the huge master’s suite because it is so sumptuous. The bedroom looks out to the lovely backyard and pool and has a very comfortable bed to offer a great nights sleep. The adjoining bath and dressing room had a large supply of quality bath towels and the owners even stocked the bathrooms with extra soaps, toothbrushes and toothpaste in case we had forgotten ours. The walk-in shower was delightful and had a strong water stream that we enjoyed. There are two other bedrooms in the house and each is very nicely decorated with comfortable beds and up-scale bedding. Each bedroom has it’s own bathroom which is similarly decorated and supplied like the rest of the house. There is plenty of privacy to be had using any of the bedrooms, as each seems isolated and private. We’ve yet to mention the place where we had the most fun here: that is the large patio that has a fireplace, comfortable patio and pool furnishings that included seating areas and a table and chairs with a glass fire feature in the center of the table that looks very exotic at night. The patio area has automatic retracting awnings to provide respite from the desert sun, if needed. The pool was our favorite part. It’s beautiful to look at but more exciting to be in. It’s a modified kidney-shape with a wonderful short wall behind it that serves as a long horizontal water fall. The shallow beach-like shelf at one end of the pool is pleasant to lounge on. While using the pool and patio we enjoyed the fabulous view of the golf course just behind the pool area and the magnificent Santa Rosa Mountains. We have already reserved for October, (3rd visit)!"

  • Warm, inviting, comfortable home - convenient LaQuinta location!

"After renting two properties within the PGA West community on two previous trips, we decided we wanted a single family vacation home more centrally located in LaQuinta, closer to Highway 111. We could not have rented a more perfect vacation getaway! The owner was more than accommodating, making sure the pool was already heated up so when we arrived the day after Christmas, our 8 yr old son could jump right in! He was also always reachable by text or cell. The home is well appointed and extremely clean. Bikes are provided as well as pool floats/noodles, everything you need for fun in the sun! Fresh citrus (tangelos and Meyer lemons) are on the property, so we enjoyed fresh juice daily. Also, the maintenance man and his wife, were very helpful and nice. We look forward to future visits and would highly recommend this wonderful home to anyone traveling to the Coachella Valley."

  • Vacation Getaway in the Desert

"“Just a quick note to indicate how much we enjoyed our stay at Casa Grande. The house is large, well planned, beautifully furnished, and easy living. There were four of us on our recent visit, however, six or more (three couples easily) can make this their home while in the Palm Desert Area. The private pool and Jacuzzi are great for relaxing. The golf course, palm trees, and mountains make a great backdrop to the private pool area. We hosted a dinner party while staying there and four couples were able to dine there with ease. My wife enjoyed the beautiful shops. We look forward to staying there again upon our return.” John"

Deserts Travel Tips

California’s deserts are unique and spectacular places to visit. Located in the dry southeast of the state, the best known areas are the Mojave National Preserve, the Anza-Borrega State Park, and the National Parks of Joshua Tree and Death Valley. Each offering their own unique and stunning geological landscape, the unique flora and fauna which has adapted to these inhospitable conditions make any visit an incredible educational adventure.

Great Reasons to Choose California Desert Vacation Rentals

Staying in a California Desert vacation rental makes perfect sense. To make the most of any free-spirited vacation, flexibility is the key word and a spacious, fully equipped home away from home allows you to do what you want, when you want. No fixed meal times and plenty of privacy, you do not have to contend with noisy guests in adjoining rooms or loud music, unless it is coming from your own teenager’s private den! With space for all the family, a comfortable place to relax in the evenings and added extras such as hot tubs, in-house laundry and internet access, vacation rentals offer the very best base for exploring the California Desert.

Golfers and Outdoor Enthusiasts will Love our California Desert Lodging

These great expanses of desert at first glance appear to be complete wilderness areas but there are a host of ways to enjoy this amazing wonder of nature. The national parks offer excellent facilities for hikers with rock climbs and viewpoints with interpretive panels to explain how the geological wonders were formed. Mountain bikes and 4-wheel drive vehicles are great for exploring the rugged countryside and roads which are unsuitable for regular cars. Driving tours are the best way to cover the distances in the heat. Off-roading and horseback riding are allowed in certain areas. Explore the abandoned mines in the area, drive through the hostile Badlands, explore canyons, and discover long-forgotten ghost towns.

The California Desert is also a great area for golfers with many excellent golf courses around the areas of s Palm Springs and Palm Desert. Rock climbing, geocaching, picnicking and scenic drives are just some of the attractions available in this unique area.

Travel Tips for Reaching California Desert Resorts

Most visitors find they need a car to make the most of their stay in their California Desert lodging. The nearest airport is the John Wayne Airport at Santa Ana. Pick up a hire car to complete the journey which is around 86 miles to Palm Springs, 90 miles to La Quinta and 77 miles to Ranch Mirage. Los Angeles also offers a local air service to Palm Springs.

Four of the Best California Desert Neighborhoods

California deserts have several main communities, each offering a totally different experience of the area. Joshua Tree offers solitude, unique flora and fauna including the hardy Joshua trees, and endless nature trails. This is the perfect base for hikers, bikers and nature-lovers to explore the park, and appreciate this great outdoor experience. La Quinta lodging offers a country club lifestyle based around golf while Palm Desert and Palm Springs vacation rentals are luxury retreats in a hidden oasis with majestic mountains, palm trees, beautiful gardens and warm sunshine. There are also plenty of designer shopping malls nearby.

What to Expect from the California Desert Weather

The climate in the High Desert around Joshua Tree National Park is generally described as that of a mid-latitude desert with relatively moderate temperatures. The higher elevations will be seven to 10 degrees cooler than Joshua Tree and will get around three to four inches more rain per year.

In the winter, the average daily maximums range from 62 to 67 F but from May to October temperatures frequently exceed 100 F. July is the hottest month of all. Rainfall can be measured as just a fraction of an inch per month so for once, you can leave your all-weather gear behind!
