"We had a great time at this cabin with our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 toddlers!) Our kids loved all the toys, books, and games provided at the house. Everything you need to feel right as home is waiting for you. The beds are super comfy, towels are soft and cozy, and everything is well kept. We enjoyed our first day hiking at Balch Park (a twisty trip up the mountain but worth the drive to see the huge sequoia trees and hidden falls!). Our second day was spent hiking Lower Coffee Camp, a lunch at The Hamburger Stand in Springville, followed by a hike of the wildflowers. If you have small children (like we do!), be sure to bring a backpack carrier as the hikes involve a lot of boulders and require balance (not something toddler are very good at!). We hope to return to the cabin later this summer so we can enjoy the pool (it never got warm enough this trip) and to hopefully jump in the waters at the Hidden Falls and Lower Coffee Camp!"

  • All Good

"Great location with a nice view of Sherwins over Juniper Lodge. Nice clean unit. And, the very best part was the great, responsive service by Megan, their property manager."

  • Wonderful family experience and couldn't have asked for more!

"Our family with young children just came back from a peaceful and memorable week at this property and we really could not have asked for more. The property is extremely clean and well-maintained and the owners have really thought of everything to ensure an amazing experience. Every amenity is offered and we found nothing lacking. In fact, we were extremely pleased to arrive and find that it looks better than the pictures! We loved the clean full kitchen, the bathroom was spotless, the bed was comfy, and the living room was warm and cozy. For all the tech lovers, there was an Apple TV, Sony Playstation with BlueRay, Nintendo Gamecube, high speed internet, DVD's, flat screen, alarm name it, they had it. It was evident that the owners put a lot of thought into making sure all of their guests are comfortable. There was plenty for the whole family to enjoy and we are extremely happy and thankful to have stayed there. We will likely never stay at a hotel again and are hoping to rebook at the earliest chance! BTW: it is in a great location. It was literally a short drive to every attraction we found worth looking at...Rainbow Falls, Devil's Postpile, Tioga Pass, east entrance of Yosemite, Mono Lakes, the various lakes at Mammoth and a short walk into town."

Lake Combie Travel Tips

Lake Combie Vacation Rentals Offer Access to a Sheltered Lake

In the Sierra Nevada Foothills sits a little known gem of a lake called Lake Combie, a 450-acre private reservoir without public access. Those who are lucky enough to own homes with boat ramps and private docks really have it made. The lake is uncrowded because of this limited access, so while boating, canoeing, or kayaking, you’ll often feel like you’re on the glassy lake surface alone. Jet skis are allowed on Lake Combie, and of course, you’ll have to share the water with swimmers—including the local water fowl. With your Lake Combie vacation rental, you can avoid the hordes of people that can be a nuisance at other area lakes, and you’ll get the tranquil privacy you need for a true retreat.

Wildlife Teems near Lake Combie Lodging

Nearby Meadow Vista is a sanctuary for all kinds of avian creatures, from birds of prey like eagles and hawks to water fowl like cranes and ducks. Bring your binoculars, so you can get a better view of all the pretty feathers flying around this wildlife habitat. Also close by is the Bear River Wilderness area, where wild turkeys, raccoons, deer, foxes, and other wild creatures roam. Fish are abundant near Gold Country High Sierra cabins, too, so you can reel in a fresh fish to grill for dinner in your Lake Combie vacation rental.

Visit Old Town Auburn

Old Town Auburn, about ten minutes away from most Lake Combie vacation rentals, is a quaint town chock full of antique stores, great restaurants, and even a nightlife. Sample local brews at the Auburn Ale House, browse local art at one of many galleries, or dance the night away at Club Car, which boasts frequent live music and comfortable seating for when you need refueling or your feet need a rest.
