"We really enjoyed going out and visiting the chickens there are so many and it made us miss having them in our own yard. We were able to watch the Vineyard Fireworks from the porch in front, made our Fourth of July even better. The cottage had everything we needed in it including a hair dryer, the hutch with utensils, glasses, bottle opener were perfect, we will definitely return again sometime."

"Although tricky to find, La Villetta is an enchanting place high up in the mountains with a breathtaking view. The house is light and spacious, equipped with basic kitchen appliances. Rebecca and her husband are lovely, friendly people that made us stay truly enjoyable. Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone looking to explore this beautiful part of California!"

"We stayed at Rocky Hill retreat for 4 nights--7 of us ranging in age from 13 to 84. It was very comfortable, with well appointed kitchen, great beds, and spacious living room with tables for playing games. A good choice for people with limited mobility as there's just one small step down into the living room. Only drawback was no yard for outdoor games (we made good use of the grassy space and new public bocce courts near the town park), though I applaud the effort to reduce landscape water use! I'd recommend this as a getaway for virtually anyone visiting Murphys, with the possible exception of kids wanting outdoor play areas. We visited Big Trees, Moaning Cavern, and swam through the cave at Natural Bridges--all within about 20 minutes of the house. Some nice restaurants and tasting rooms in town as well..."

"Our family of four (children 7 and 11) went to Murphys to experience California history and to enjoy the outdoors. Staying at Milfiori was memorable -- it helped us connect to the history of the area. The house is impeccable, spacious and comfortable and the grounds are amazingly tranquil. Details abound: The house and grounds have carefully chosen accessories everywhere (but in no sense is there clutter), a well-appointed kitchen, a swing in the garden, etc. Our children loved staying in a 19th century house (with all modern comforts) and exploring the grounds. The owner is both efficient and thoughtful. Booking/arrival/departure arrangements were incredibly easy. We were going to a theatre performance in the park, and she kindly retrieved four lawn chairs from her storage for our use. This was indeed a special trip for our family, and we will return!"
