  • The free night makes all the difference!

"We spent four nights at this condo in the Sunstone building of Juniper Springs Resort. The furnishings are nice, and the welcome chocolates were an added touch. For two people this place would be perfect. Anymore than two, and it quickly becomes cramped. There were three of us on this trip. The bathroom is small, without much space to put your toiletries. The balcony was also cramped at breakfast, as there really is only enough space for two people. The swimming pool is nice, as is the hot tub. A "great room" with an outdoor patio is also a nice feature of the building. This condo had a view of the swimming pool, which also provided plenty of noise from the loud families swimming. I don't quite understand why there is no air conditioning in these units. Perhaps because the resort favors the winter crowds. But being able to cool the condo down without having to prop two doors open would have been nice. We've rented many cabins and condos through VRBO and HomeAway. So we are quite familiar with the process. The main reason this particular rental doesn't get higher marks is because of the poor communication from the owners. The response to our questions was often very slow (24 to 48 hours), if at all. After we paid for the condo, we pretty-much didn't hear from the owner again. This was unfortunate, as we did have questions that went unanswered. Even after we checked-out, and I sent an email thanking them for the use of their condo, I never received a reply. I would recommend this resort to others because of its location, and nice amenities. And after this, our first time at Mammoth Lakes, I'm sure we will return to the area. But I'm sorry to say we won't rent from these owners again."

  • Too brief but so wonderful!`

"What a wonderful time we had at your home you shared. It was in a convenient location and the amenities were excellent and the house was so very well stocked with extras that we did not expect. We had been traveling across California for almost a week and your house was our last two nights, definately not enough time to truly appreciate all you had to offer. The beds were the most comfortable of all we had been sleeping in. The waterfall in the back was just such a treat and the owners were so pleasant to deal with. We would love to come back sometime and we know where we want to stay, Fishermen's Oasis. Thank for making the end of our "Discover California" trip so wonderful. • Our favorite Mammoth condo ever!

"We have stayed at other "walk to the lift" condos, but this was our favorite by far. Extremely convenient (right across from the Austria Hof -- which is also convenient if you want to go out to dinner in a blizzard!), easy walk to Canyon Lodge. We loved the cozy decor (especially the bear lights in the bedroom) and comfy furnishings (the bed was almost too comfortable...hard to leave it to ski in the morning!). The kitchen is small but totally equipped with everything even an avid cook like me needed to make yummy meals. Oh, and the hot tub? Very close to the unit and probably the best we've had: very hot, two big tubs, outside (where you can get snow in your hair while you cook). Did I say how we loved the whole thing? We did. Will definitely be back. Big thanks to Tony (who was wonderful to deal with) for sharing this great place!"

  • All Good

"We had not stayed in Mammoth in years and needed a nice place for a quick spur of the minute trip. The Condo was all it was represented to be and the Monache is very nice. Jerry met us at the Westin gave us the keys and could not have been more cordial. The unit was spotless, the bed is really comfortable and the entertainment system provides everything needed along with being warm, comfortable and watch the fireplace or gaze out the window with a great view of the mountain. The Whitebark restaurant was not open for lunch yet but great for Happy Hour with a nice and tasty selection of appetizers and good service. If you want a quality accommodation with a great location this is it. And, our little Pup was as happy as she could be !"
