  • Best Vacation home

"My family of 9 was a little nervous about staying in a vacation home, I did a lot of research and heard horrible horror stories about vacation homes, I booked a lodge and received an automated email the next day advertising this home, I looked at the pictures, and l immediately was in love. When I called and spoke to Dennis, I was sold, he was so up front and open, unlike all of the other owners I spoke to. I called and cancelled my lodge and booked with Dennis. My whole family loved this home/ location so much it was truly hard to leave. Dennis thank you for the vacation of our lives, we will definitely return."

  • Excellent experience

"I recently (January 2015) spent a weekend at the River Villa to celebrate my 30th birthday with several friends. From the first inquiry to our final exchange, the property manager, Robin, was an absolute pleasure to deal with. I had a couple of last minute cancellations/additions to my guest list that I was worried might complicate the booking process but Robin made the entire process as simple and painless as possible. Once we arrived we saw that she also left a nice welcome note with a home baked loaf of bread which we enjoyed with our dinner the first night. The cabin itself is as advertised: 3 queen bedrooms on the ground floor and the large loft upstairs. The loft was definitely decorated with a kids' space in mind which makes this a perfect family vacation rental, but the large living area and patio/yard works just as well for a group of adults/buddies looking for a getaway. There are large windows on all sides in the living room (as well as double sliding glass doors) which gives the cabin plenty of natural light during the day and a great view of the night sky without having to leave the warmth of the fire. The area just outside the living room is amazing and we ended up spending most of our time at the cabin here. The river is literally right outside with about 30 ft of space filled with seating, bbqs and horseshoes in between it and the sliding doors. The views of the mountains during the day and the countless stars at night kept us coming back outside even when it got colder at night. If you are planning on going into Sequoia National Park I can't imagine you can stay much closer. We made it to the entrance in less than 5 minutes (although it is worth noting that it is still 30 minutes - an hour from the park entrance to all of the big trees/waterfalls/etc). The only caveat I have is that the property was advertised as being on 14 acres which led me to assume it was completely private. There are neighbors adjacent to the cabin as well as across the river that seem to be quite a bit closer than 14 acres. I'm willing to bet that there are indeed 14 acres on the plot of land, but the cabin isn't right in the middle of that 14 acres which is what I had imagined. With all of that said though, the property still provides an ample amount of privacy and private access to the river which I'm sure would be even more exciting in warmer months. All in all, we had a great experience and plan to return hopefully sooner than later."

  • Honeymoon Dream

"What a wonderful hidden gem! We spent hald our honeymoon here and couldnt have asked for a more serene place. Be prepared for a long drive to Sequoia Park , but Blach park is right up the road and worth the day trip too. The falls behind the cabin are amazing and you feel like you are in your own little world not burdened by outside worries. The wildlife at night is cool too, we saw racoons and a bobcat! Not to mention the roaming cows that love to stare. If you are looking for a mountain getaway, but close enough to town, this is the spot for you! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!"

  • Weekend Birthday getaway

"This place was fantastic! We were a total of 11 people and we had tons of space! The kitchen was great for cooking for so many people. The grounds was very picturesque, there was a nice loop around the lake for walking. There was a large area to play football and frisbee outside. My dog had tons of space to run around outdoors. The living room was ideal for board games and movie watching. They even had a speaker system inside - just bring an aux jack to connect your device! Overall, we had a wonderful weekend and would highly recommend staying here."
