  • GREAT Location and comfortable cabin.

"We will be back! This cabin is centrally located in the Giant Sequoia National Monument, and is just down the block from the Ponderosa Restaurant."

  • Wonderful stay

"My wife and I stayed at Piggly Pines over the July 4th weekend. I must say, I couldn't have imagined it being much better. Location: The area was green and lush with many trees surrounding it. We enjoyed hiking all over and beyond the meadow. So much to explore! Everyone we ran into into locally was very friendly. At 7200 feet the air is crisp and clean. The night sky is beaming with 1,000 times more stars than you could hope to see under the bright lights of the city. Truly, a sight to behold. We even saw 4 shooting stars! Cabin: A+, kitchen is outstanding, very well equipped. Very well decorated with well thought out touches all over. Great selection of book, may I recommend "That Quail, Robert. DVD player and VHS player. Very comfortable bed. Owners: Anne & John were very kind. Anne supplied detailed instructions and maps for the ride up and was thoughtful enough to print up a list of hikes and activities in the area for the weekend. She even brought me a piece of cake on my birthday (it was yummy by the way). Thank you so much for making our time up there with you such a delight. P.S. - They have 2 dogs, Mohawk & Highway, and a cat, Simba. All 3 of them were super loving & friendly. FYI: Mohawk loves to have his belly rubbed."

  • Quiet, secluded, beautiful!

"If you're looking to get away from everything and enjoy the beauty and solitude of the mountains, this is it. No cell or internet service, so you will be unplugged, which was wonderful. Day hikes abound (most involve elevation changes.) The cabin is clean and well supplied. (I would suggest that it could use some deck chairs. I would bring camp chairs to sit outside if I go back.) Nice wood stove provided warm evenings. We took a telescope and set up on Dome Rock for some nice viewing. It's just down the road. Had a great time, and plan to go back."

  • Great getaway

"I will say that the pictures actually don't do this house justice. The neighborhood is great, secluded and private. The house is well stocked and makes you feel like you're right at home. Mel was really easy to work with and was more than accommodating. There was snow right in the yard, which made it so much fun for the kids. This is definitely somewhere you want to go when you want to get away from it all :). Its a beautiful area and we hope to go back for hunting season. Thanks Mel for a great family vacation!"
