Recent Sequoia, Kings Canyon reviews

  • Just the perfect place!

"We, parents & 2 teens, stayed at this perfect cabin for three days in November. Perfectly located in a ranch, not far from Sequoia and Kings canyon, quiet, clean and beautiful. From the first moment you enter the place you feel like at home. The kitchen is better eqquipped that mine :-), the beds and linnen are so comfortable, washing machine, drier, central heating, it has everything you need, even lots of films to relax after a day hikking... Herb and Sandy, an adorable couple, will help you with the places to visit and share their love for nature. Thank you!"

  • Large Cabin close to Kings Canyon and Sequoia

"We stayed here (4 families) over the Labor Day weekend. The cabin is about 14 miles up the mountain. really in the wilderness. There is a lake in front of the cabin. It does have all the amenities (No Internet). Word of caution, anything besides Verizon would not work up here or in the national parks. If you are going with the large group and different cars then its worth having a radio for communication. Unless everyone has Verizon. The cabin is really close to Kings Canyon entrance on hwy 180. Dry Creek rd goes to CA-245 which gets to hwy 180. Only 30 minutes from Cabin. The cabin has 4 bedrooms, 3 full bedrooms with bunk beds and 1 room with all bunk beds, since this is a christian camp. The only issue the bunk beds room has is no door to close on one end. However since we really came to the Cabin at night time to sleep we did not care. But the bunk beds are very uncomfortable, I suggest bring some kind of padding. Kitchen has everything, the electric stove is hard to use, the way it manages temperature is by constantly turning on and off. So if you want to boil water it takes for ever. Coffee maker did not work. Over all a very good experience and great stay. If you want to see Sequoia NP, then its better to go down to CA-198 and then get to the park entrance. Otherwise you have to take the junction from Kings Canyon to go to Sequoia and it would take long, these are connected parks. In my opinion Kings canyon is a much better national park with a lot more things to see then Sequoia. I do recommend going to Lake Hume, very very nice lake, and there is a restaurant there. The lake is really really beautiful."

  • Great Weekend Get Away

"The location was private and allowed for relaxation. The house was exactly as described and we enjoyed the pool, spa and a movie under the stars. The owner was easy to work with especially considering the last minute rental. She was very hospitable. I will be back to rent again."
