"The Davidgil house is a once in a lifetime opportunity to stay in a work of art. The home is immaculate and absolutely beautiful. The amount of detail put into the home is mesmerizing and my husband and I would wonder around the house for hours marveling over the artistic detail of the home which the owners built themselves. The property itself is equally gorgeous and my family loved spending time in the huge yard and dangling our feet in the pristine river running through the property. The home had everything one could want or need in a vacation home and the owners are the nicest and most down to earth people. They made us feel right at home. If you want a peaceful retreat this is the spot to be."

  • Could not have been better!

"My friends and I enjoy getting out and exploring California. That said, this was truly one of the best CA experiences I could imagine, and I would highly recommend staying here. This prefab house (an idea I am now sort of obsessed with) was beautifully simple and I love how the design reminds you of the surrounding landscape at all times. The whole 7 acres is amazing- plenty to explore. Our group rented the 2 tent cabins and they were perfect for us, harkening back to the days of week long summer camp, but close enough to the house to grab a beer out of the fridge. The stars were incredible. Deer wandered past the house all throughout dusk. Red sunset light against the surrounding hills can't be beat. The sound of the river is the perfect backdrop soundtrack. There was ample space for food and the kitchen is well equipped. No TV and no internet were a welcomed respite from the pace of city life. There is a projector and screen to watch DVDs if you so desire. One of our party was able to get a sliver of cell service (AT&T) from one of the tent cabins. This house provided just the right amount of thoughtful, modern comfort (not sure if it was a knockoff or not but LOVED sitting in the lounging Eames chair), but then nature was also so accessible. Slick Rock Recreation area is minutes away, and was the perfect Sunday swim spot. We spent most of Saturday up in Sequoia National Park- an hour or so away. If you stay at this house you absolutely should get up there. Hike the stairs to the top of Morro Rock. Walk around the Crescent Meadow in Giant forest. Go see the Sequoias named "The President" and "The Senate" (they are as impressive as General Sherman but much less people). Spring time was a great time to visit: we got to hike with snow on the ground, and we saw bears! Wildflowers and Pacific Dogwood were blooming and rivers were running with snow melt. Temperatures were mild. Truly, just the best. At this point I'm just going to start repeating myself. This place is thoughtful and perfect on this piece of property and we loved our time there. Sheila, the manager was friendly, easy going, and informative about the space. She is also very knowledgeable about Sequoia National Park, so ask her for suggestions. Owners, if you ever are selling, please let me know! Or if you want to grab a cocktail in LA, I'd love to hear more about the process of building this place! Thank you for renting this place out!"

"We had a wonderful stay at the River Villa with our Son, Daughter in law, and three small grandchildren. Perfect "get away" cabin. My daughter in law was thrilled to not have to bring the pack and play, highchair or safety gate for our almost walking youngest grand. There was plenty to do with exploring outside and games and books inside. The spacious great room made spreading out so easy. The laundry area was great to have after playing in the park and outside all day. I personally appreciated the extra mirrors in the bedrooms. It made getting ready in the morning so much easier with so many of us staying in the house. Like some of the others reviews have said, it was a short distance to Sequoia National park entrance (can't get any closer without staying in the park!) but quite a drive to the "big trees"... we still enjoyed the park. Our son and daughter in law enjoyed a "date night" at Ol Buckaroo food truck just a short distance in town. They liked it so much we went back for breakfast on our way out the last morning. GREAT food! The property manager, Robin, was fabulous to work with. So quick, efficient and delightful. We LOVED the bread she left for us to enjoy."

  • Encanting Location

"The location could not be better. The setting is very romantic. The water roars past you with an almost hypnotizing tone. The studio is well equipped, but it needs some tender loving care. Comparing these accommodations to others we have visited in he same price range as this unit; it is overpriced. Three Rivers has two barely acceptable restaurants so don't expect too much in that arena. Getting to the unit and its riverside patio is dangerous. It is very definitively not a place that anyone with a physical handicap should consider. I would not recommend it for anyone over 70; unless you are in very good shape and are very active. The giant grove an d Crystal cave is about 1 hour from the unit; the Grant Grove is about 2 hours away. We enjoyed our stay. I would recommend the place to some of my friends, but not all. It is just too dangerous."
