  • So relaxing!

"It was a three night trip for just my husband and I and we enjoyed this beautiful home and everything it offered. We spent hours on the back patio and along the river. It was so peaceful and private. Our special moments were shared with ducks and quail that frequent the backyard. Our stay was so wonderful we ended up sleeping in both mornings. What a way to rejuvenate! The added touch was the owner, Laura left us a basket with goodies and a bottle of wine along with a handwritten note. You can really tell she cares about her guests. We will be back!! - Angel K."

  • Big & Beautiful

"My daughter & I stayed 4 nights during Spring Break. The house was very spacious - especially since there were just two of us. We loved looking out the large windows to the mountains while we cooked, read or just relaxed. And at night we had a great view of the stars. The river just outside our door was low flowing. We loved putting our feet in the icy cold water. 2 miles from the entrance to Sequoia National Park made hiking very easy. The beds were comfy and the place was very clean. Shoes off at the front door. The master suite is like a huge apartment. The bathroom had just been remodeled. We cooked each day and had everything we needed. There is a phone at the house to use because cell service with AT&T is spotty and nonexistent with Verizon. There is no internet either. Completely unplugged!! Nice! There is Satellite TV if you still feel the need to connect. We can't wait to come again and bring a larger group with us."

  • Perfect Anniversary

"As parents of 3 kids under 7 years old we rarely have time for ourselves. We wanted to plan a trip for our 10th wedding anniversary that was far enough away from home, but close enough in case of emergencies. This place was perfect! Almost rather not write the review and keep this a secret. We were welcomed, given the tour of the land and treated like family - something so rare. Thank you for the great conversation! They are so welcoming and genuinely excited to share this small area of God's creation rich in local history. Completely surrounded by sights and sounds of nature . . no cars, no people. My wife and I felt like we were completely alone in a land far far away. While my wife isn't much into roughing it in the 'woods', I was in paradise. Spent half a day hiking in the national park seeing the giant trees for the first time. The rest of the time walking the property and especially enjoying the sight and sound of the river that brought back so many childhood memories. Her paradise came after "roughing it" all day with me, coming home to the cottage to a warm bath, relaxing on the deck enjoying the view, napping, then under a blanket keeping warm in the living room taking in a dvd or listening to music without any interruptions. As much as we enjoyed our time alone, we can't wait to be able take our kids for a few days, hopefully making it an annual trip. Thank you James and Kathleen for allowing us to recharge ourselves and our marriage in the Kaweah Cottage. God bless you always! R&D"

  • Christmas in the Glass House

"We had a great time spending Christmas in the Three Rivers Glass House - the incredible location gave us such a sense of peace and quiet and just the right frame for disconnecting from the world for a few days, and re-connecting as a family. The lot is absolutely terrific, and much larger than we had expected - one day we just stayed in and had enough to explore and photograph right there. We were a bit uneasy about having no window coverings, but it was a marvelous experience waking up to the panorama of nature at dusk, with the first birds hopping about and the hill sides being touched by the first sun light. The only drawback was that there is a large house on the opposite river bank - it's quite far from the glass house, but at night it had all lights on, all night, with a particularly bright entrance light that was shining straight across at eye level for the person sleeping on the right side in the master bedroom - there was no uninterrupted sleep to be had under such illumination, and we unfortunately had nothing to cover the lower corner of the room with to block out this annoying light. But aside from that everything else was just perfect for us. We particularly enjoyed the heated floor, what bliss to get up on a cold morning and be warm and cozy in the house. We enjoyed a lot of wildlife, right there from the house - rabbits and birds, hawks and even a large owl in the tree right by the house; two deer one morning, and on Christmas Eve a red fox casually walked by and looked in on us in frank curiosity! The next morning the lot was visited by a larger group of feral pigs and their youngs - this was a total surprise for us, as we did not know they live in these parts! It was quite a thrill, though it gave our small dog the fright of her life, not having expected pigs on her morning rounds. Overall we pretty much felt like "paradise found" and plan to return."
