  • Annual family get together

"Our family of 13 (ages 10 to 75) had the best time here. There was plenty of room for everyone with adequate sleeping arrangements. No one had to sleep on a sofa. The kitchen was very well stocked, and there were a lot of activities close by...bowling at the casino, mini golfing, and swimming at the lake. Jan who checked us in and out was very gracious and responsive. Thank you for allowing us to have a wonderful place to get together."

  • Location! Coralie

"Location, Location, Location! Really a perfect location which is close to town on a quiet street with plenty of parking. It was a warm, cozy, and inviting cabin that everyone enjoyed especially the grand-kids! My husband and I appreciated the 12 inch. pine paneling, old growth, which gave the place a special charm. The cabin had everything you would need. Enjoy"

  • Wonderful home and owner.

"Our family of 14 decided to plan a Gold Country getaway for my parents' birthday weekend, one week before checkin. By luck, we found this place. I reached out to the owner Lissa, Who was extremely kind and accommodating in helping us to book this home on such short notice. I went to the post office with the check and contract and paid for overnight delivery, but unfortunately they lost it for a few days and it did not arrive on time. Lissa assured me that she would help me to make this happen and allowed an alternate form of deposit the day of checkin. The house is large and beautiful and really makes the most of its space. We did a lot of cooking and talking around the table, our favorite past time. The home is just down the street from a cute little village that we went jogging to in the mornings. On Saturday we spent the day in Columbia panning for gold, enjoying the old fashion café/candy store (the owner's homemade pear pies from her own personal orchard are a must!) and having affordable custom gifts made at the blacksmith shop. On Sunday we spent the day shopping in downtown Sonora, visited the old schoolhouse and cemetery in Columbia and did downtown Columbia again for the saloon and ice cream shop. Out vacation turned out great and I could not have wish for better treatment. Family members ranging from three months old to 60 years old had a great time! Lissa and her home are truly delightful and we can't wait to return."

  • Very nice and functional cabin retreat

"We rented this cabin just to get away for a few days. The cabin is very functional and perfect for a getaway. There are two bedrooms plus a master upstairs. The kitchen has everything you need to make a delicious meal or you can barbecue outside. There are laundry facilities downstairs, along with the living room, kitchen and dining room table. The dining table only seats four, so if you have a larger guest list you may need to make creative accommodations for eating. The deck is peaceful and set among the large trees. There are a lot of stairs to go from the driveway to the cabin, so best to pack light. Black Oak Casino is only about 15 minutes away and is a good entertainment option. We also went to Pinecrest Lake and rented a party boat for a couple hours and toured the lake, which is about 30 minutes away. There are a handful of restaurants that are only about three minutes from the cabin. Most of them are adequate for a decent meal, but none are could be described as outstanding (there's a business opportunity here for someone). The owner is easy to work with and very friendly. She also proved to be reasonably flexible and accommodating."
