  • Girlfriend's Retreat

"Twelve old girlfriend's got together and stayed at the fabulous Lone Star Lodge in Twain Harte. We hiked around Pine crest lake, played at the Black Oak casino as well as doing a little shopping and wine tasting in nearby Murphy. We loved everything about this spacious lodge. Top notch beds and linens as well as four beautiful bathrooms made all 12 of us feel pampered and happy. We especially enjoyed being able to walk only a couple of minutes to eat in the little downtown village. What a perfect location! Despite all of our memorable outings, our absolute favorite times were spent at the cabin in the hot tub under the stars. We drank wine and giggled by the camp fire. We booked our trip at the last minute and the owners made it very easy. We can't wait to return!"

  • Very nice and functional cabin retreat

"We rented this cabin just to get away for a few days. The cabin is very functional and perfect for a getaway. There are two bedrooms plus a master upstairs. The kitchen has everything you need to make a delicious meal or you can barbecue outside. There are laundry facilities downstairs, along with the living room, kitchen and dining room table. The dining table only seats four, so if you have a larger guest list you may need to make creative accommodations for eating. The deck is peaceful and set among the large trees. There are a lot of stairs to go from the driveway to the cabin, so best to pack light. Black Oak Casino is only about 15 minutes away and is a good entertainment option. We also went to Pinecrest Lake and rented a party boat for a couple hours and toured the lake, which is about 30 minutes away. There are a handful of restaurants that are only about three minutes from the cabin. Most of them are adequate for a decent meal, but none are could be described as outstanding (there's a business opportunity here for someone). The owner is easy to work with and very friendly. She also proved to be reasonably flexible and accommodating."

  • Open and homey

"A really great Great Room with wood floors and two large glass sliding doors onto a new(ish) deck. Nice furniture. Quiet 'hood. Pool table. New bathroom. Two minutes to "downtown" and two minutes to the Hwy 108. And the owners are just about the most accommodating folks you'll ever meet"

  • Location! Coralie

"Location, Location, Location! Really a perfect location which is close to town on a quiet street with plenty of parking. It was a warm, cozy, and inviting cabin that everyone enjoyed especially the grand-kids! My husband and I appreciated the 12 inch. pine paneling, old growth, which gave the place a special charm. The cabin had everything you would need. Enjoy"
