  • Excellent Home - Feels like a Hotel!

"We had so much fun staying at the beautiful home. It has the feel of a hotel!. The bar and pool table were such a hit. We stay with two families and it was a perfection fit for our families. First of all, the kitchen is amazing. I am a huge cook and everything I could think of was available. We fit 20 people for dinner around the table. What a blast. The bedrooms are enormous. Michelle was a great communicator and we have zero issues. I would book this home again in a heartbeat."

  • A Great Getaway and a Great Place to end Each Day!

"My wife and I and our 3 teen-adult daughters flew into SF for the weekend and then spent a week at the Chalet. What a wonderful place!! Peaceful, quiet, beautiful views with every amenity you need. Every morning we saw birds, squirrels and deer just outside the back porch. The hummingbirds were quite feisty. Nothing better than a glass of wine at night on the back porch - the stars were as bright as I can remember seeing in a while - excellent Southern sky view! We spent most days in Yosemite walking and hiking. It was so nice to come back to the chalet after a long day - we all looked forward to to it each day. We grilled out a few times on the back porch (nice gas grill). The chalet was so nice and charming , my wife/daughters requested and spent an entire day just hanging out (something they rarely do on vacation). Paul, the owner, kept us informed (via e-mail) about the fires in Yosemite for a few weeks before we arrived all the way up through the time we left. He also kept us up-to date (via e-mail) about the wildlife in the area. We actually got to speak with Paul, a very interesting person. He is a great host and we truly enjoyed his home. It really felt like "home" for us. We enjoyed the stay, did not want to leave and look forward to our next trip to Mariposa, Yosemite and the chalet!"

  • Fantastic Cabin

"We had a wonderful stay. The cabin was well maintained and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking. The property was beautiful and quiet. 10 minutes to Bass Lake and about 20 minutes to Oakhurst. The owner was very helpful and even recorded a football game for my husband. (We were on the road to the cabin when the game aired.) Now that's going the extra mile for your guests!"

  • Perfection Hidden in the Mountains

"I live only about 6 miles from this beautiful home. So I wasn't too surprised at the views and the serene setting. But the family that actually stayed in the home were blown away. This home is perfect in every way, shape and form. It had everything one needs to make for a perfect getaway. Beautiful user friendly home with all the essentials for a tranquil, peaceful, restful stay. Clean as a whistle, plenty of room, great surroundings, close to the store, Wifi, TV, comfortable beds, lots of hot water for showers. Perfection is all I can say. There will be no complaints from anyone who has the good sense to rent this lovely home. The very best VRBO home yet in our experience. My family had a great second Christmas in this wonderful home. Even the dog was in heaven. Nothing, absolutely nothing could have been better. Only one small hitch and that is, the washing machine wasn't available, but everyone brought enough clothes for the long weekend. Thank you for sharing your utterly gorgeous, very well prepped home with our family. You were wonderful hosts. Even let us add one more day to our weekend, because we loved it sooooo much, and my home blew it's water pump. You can't go wrong with this pick. You will be blown away!!!"

Yosemite Area Travel Tips

Incredible Scenery at Yosemite

One thing that Yosemite is known for is its beautiful scenery. Located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the landscape is characterized by majestic mountain peaks, cascading waterfalls and wide valleys. It is the perfect vacation destination for people who enjoy nature and appreciate beautiful scenery. Yosemite is also known for its abundant wildlife, in particular its bears. Visitors who enjoy wildlife viewing can explore the park daily and seek out animals to get some great wildlife photographs. Yosemite has some world-famous climbing crags that attract climbers from around the globe. It is also a popular National Park for hiking. There are trails suitable for both families and more experienced hikers. The valley has a paved biking trail that is ideal for sightseeing and gaining access to some of the more remote areas of the park. Bikes can be hired from various centers in the park.

Things to See and Do near Yosemite Cabins

Yosemite is famous for its incredible waterfalls. There are seven spectacular waterfalls within the park and a further four just outside of it. The Yosemite Falls are made of three smaller waterfalls known as the upper, middle and lower falls. In total, the waterfall has a drop of 2,425 feet, making it the fifth highest waterfall in the world. The Ribbon Falls cascade off the west side of El Capitan and have a drop of 1,612 feet. The Ribbon Falls is the tallest single waterfall in the United States. Other waterfalls include the beautiful Bridalveil Falls, so named because the wind often blows the waterfall, spreading out the water like a bridal veil. The Horsetail Falls is a seasonal waterfall than runs for several weeks in February off the eastern side of El Capitan. The background light from the sun lights up the waterfall in a spectacular way, making it look as though it’s on fire.

Yosemite’s rock formations provide excellent subjects for photographs, especially in the early morning or late afternoon sunlight. Some of the more famous landmarks include El Capitan which is a 7,569-foot granite peak that rises up from the valley floor. It is a challenging and well-known rock climbing face. Mt. Lyell is the tallest peak in the park and also home to the park’s only active glacier. The peak rises up to an impressive height of 13,114 feet. The Matterhorn peak is at an altitude of 12,264 feet and part of a series of peaks that make up the Sawtooth Ridge in the northeastern part of the park.

Best Time of Year to Visit Yosemite

Because of the extensive amount of trails and wildlife viewing opportunities, most people prefer to visit during the summer season. This is also the season when the waterfalls are at their most spectacular. The long summer days are ideal for exploring and enjoying your favorite outdoor activities. Yet summer is not the only season when it’s worth visiting Yosemite. The fall and winter months are particularly beautiful in the park. Snow occurs at higher altitudes and there is a ski resort at Badger Pass which has a number of ski runs. Cross country skiing is also available at Mariposa Grove.

Sierra Nevada Vacation Rentals in Yosemite

Yosemite is one of the major parks that has a number of resorts and private homes within its boundaries. This provides a wide variety of accommodation options for visitors. There are also several private homes located just outside the park which provide easy aces to the area's attractions. In general, the homes inside the park are smaller and cater for families of two to six people. Many have hot tubs which are ideal for soaking in while enjoying the mountain scenery.

Get away to the mountains and enjoy solitude and majestic beauty all around Yosemite cabins rented by owner.
