"Friends Lodge in Yosemite was the ideal place for our trip to Yosemite! We look for a couple of things when we travel - is it as advertised, is it the right location to be a base, and is it easy to do. We've done VRBO several times now, and this scored top marks on everything!
We fell in love with the lodge from the photos, and the pictures represent exactly the comfort, set-up, and wonderful atmosphere of the lodge. From the deck overlooking the creek to the large kitchen table/sitting area (both favorites of ours), it was exactly what we had hoped to find. It fit our large group with ease. And the location...
Well, it couldn't get any better. In Yosemite National Park, as close as you can get to the valley floor without staying in one of the lodges there (which would have split up our larger group), easy drive to Glacier Point, and not a bad trip at all to Tuolumne Meadows and the north side (it is on the other side of the valley floor, but what a beautiful drive it is!). With the local market, we could pick up anything we needed. And we loved just hiking down the creek to the river and exploring too!
And the owners were so prompt and personable in answering our questions. It could not have been a more seamless or enjoyable transaction. Customer service was excellent to let us get everything straightened away well in advance, including late arrival.
Not only would we most highly recommend it, we can't wait for an opportunity to come back! We loved it!"

"We just stayed here for 4 nights with a large group of extended family and friends and it was the perfect size. I agree that it feels like a hotel. I didn't feel overwhelmed by the quantity of stuff we all had because there's plenty of space for it all. The pool table and bar area were a total entertainment for the kids (ages 3-9) which I didn't even expect - thought it'd be used more by the adults, which it also was. The very large kitchen accommodated multiple cooks at once and the huge dining table with the comfy benches was a great socializing/eating/card playing/puzzle doing spot - it could literally all happen at once, it was so big, yet felt cozy. The rooms were huge, the bathrooms are all nicely remodeled, more so than the rest of the house, but it has a great homey overall feel. It takes about 20-25 minutes to get to the valley or Glacier Point or Wawona; very centrally located neighborhood. I would most definitely rent here again. Michelle was easy to work with too."

"I had a wonderful stay. This rental home had all the the comforts of home with all the beauty of Pine Mountain Lake. I was able to make important emails using the in-home wifi and kicked back and watched a funny movie when we arrived Friday night, after a long drive. The neighborhood was very peaceful and my girlfriend and I took our dog on a lovely walk Saturday night. However, the view of the lush, wide open golf course really made our stay exceptional. I would definitely return here in the future."

Quiet, comfortable and beautiful scenery at Donkey Lane
"Yosemite Vista at Donkey Lane is a comfortable, quiet and clean retreat. The views and sunsets are beautiful. The landscaping and yard are very nice. The owner provides lots of helpful information about the area and an extensive binder with guidelines and rules about how to manage the recycling, composting and other household responsibilities. The pantry has clearly marked shelves for guest & community items.
Most everything was very clean (refrigerator, showers, bedding etc.) and ready for guests. There were just a few things that keep me from giving Donkey Lane 5 stars and these things may not be issues for everyone: I prefer bathroom drawers and bedroom closets to be emptied of owner's personal items; bar soap and kitchen sponge to be new and unused and pot holders to be unstained. I didn't know beforehand that there is no TV reception. The TV is only for DVDs.
All in all I think most people would enjoy their stay here."
