"Used El Cap View as our base for a week of day hikes and it was perfect. This was my first trip to Yosemite and I was not disappointed. Doe was awesome with communication before our arrival. Location inside the park was perfect, no lines for us. The home has all you'll need. We cooked inside and outside on the gas grill. We enjoyed our mornings and evenings on the back deck and front porch. Total quiet. Drove five minutes to a great overlook of Yosemite Valley for sunsets and sunrises. This cottage is perfect for hikers as it is convenient to all the "must do" trails. Doe even gave me a lift to Yosemite Valley one morning so that I could rent a bike and do the tour on my own as others in my party were going the other direction for the day. I know taxi service was not in the agreement but it was much appreciated on this day. Come here! Stay here!"

"We were totally happy with the Ahweanee. The owner was friendly and easy to work with. My wife and I rented his house for five days in October for her 60th birthday. The house was lovely, clean, spacious, and had floor to ceiling windows on two sides of the living room, looking out on woods and mountains. Part of the house is new construction. And we loved the back-friendly danish style chair with ottoman in front of the TV. The kitchen was the best stocked kitchen of many houses we've rented over the years. The beds were very comfortable, the water pressure in the showers was fine, and the heaters worked well. During our 5-day stay, we went to the park for 3 days, and for the other two days we completely relaxed in the house and took a simple one hour walk in the "neighborhood." The house is very secluded and quiet. The house does not have TV cable or satellite, nor any internet/wifi connection, nor any landline phone, but that turned out to be a blessing in disguise as we were able to really enjoy being "off the grid" and let get super simple for us…we watched tons of DVDs that the owner had in the house on his large LED TV set. The house helped make the whole vacation perfect."
