  • A wonderful place!

"My family, including two young children, stayed here for New Year's and it was perfect. Martina was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating, and the house itself was extremely comfortable and spacious, with a very well-stocked kitchen, ping-pong and pool table, comfortable beds, and nice living space. We spent all day in Yosemite every day and it was a wonderful place to come back to and rest. The kitchen has everything we needed and we cooked great meals. The upstairs/downstairs set up is perfect for families with kids. Nice location, which I imagine is great in the summer with the lake nearby. I highly recommend it, and am only hesitant to write this review because I don't want it to get too fully booked! We look forward to staying there again soon."

  • All that we hoped for....

"We stayed at Alpenglow Chalet 08/30/14-09/05/14. The house is beautifully designed and appointed; it met all our expectations. We were pleased that the house was very clean, furniture was comfortable, and linens were good quality. There are several bookcases throughout the house, with a good choice of reading. There are children's books and family board games in the den. The kitchen was well stocked with all needed cook ware. As there were only three of us in our group, we decided to eat breakfast in, pack lunches for daily hikes, and have dinners in Yosemite Village. The house is so lovely and inviting, it was sometimes hard to leave it in the morning to explore the park. Groceries in Yosemite Village are expensive, so if possible, plan your menus and grocery shop before you arrive. Deer are easily seen from the house. We spotted a bear across the carport once (around 6:00 PM). He paused for a few moments then raced away. Another time, a bobcat crossed in front of our car as we were leaving the neighborhood. It's about a 30 min scenic drive into Yosemite Village; speed limits are 20-35 mph. And it was about an hour drive to the Wawona area, which is an area in the southern part of the park. Based on our experience, we highly recommend Alpenglow Chalet."

  • Great place for family reunion

"My family visited Mariposa, Yosemite area mid July 2014. We had the privilege of staying in this beautiful home. We had a wonderful time! This house was perfect for our family reunion. It was also convenient to both entrances to Yosemite park as well as two very lovely towns. Everything went great through VRBO and Eve was wonderful to deal with, there were no issues with our rental and communication was the best. Never used VRBO, but will again after this great experience. Thanks"

  • Would love to go back!

"Our two-family group of 12 had such a nice visit. We loved exploring the area, but were also very happy to just spend time in this lovely home! The setting is so beautiful. We loved sitting on the back patio and taking in the rolling hills and distant mountains. Bass Lake is close; and we even made the 35 minute trip to the Vons in Oakhurst to stock the kitchen for the week. Mark was an excellent host who was there for any needs, but pretty much left us to ourselves."
