  • Amazing retreat in the Western Sierra and awesome hosts!

"This place is just awesome - in the way that means awe-inspiring - and the hosts, Kirsty and Jerry are just as great. The booking process was quick and super-professional, and Kirsty was so nice and friendly from the start. They have a way of knowing how to really efficiently manage a property while also being so welcoming and personable - not a common combination. We arrived just after sunset and a fire was ready to be lit and there was jazz playing - I don't even like jazz, but left it on because it was such a sweet gesture! :) When we awoke the next morning, we were able to take in the true splendor of the place, on the first of four beautiful, crisp, clear fall days filled with lots of hikes, more fires, football, and Thanksgiving. Kirsty and Jerry helped with some hikes for us and our pooches, and were always quick to pick up the phone if we needed anything. We will be back! Great property, great hosts!"

  • Would love to go back!

"Our two-family group of 12 had such a nice visit. We loved exploring the area, but were also very happy to just spend time in this lovely home! The setting is so beautiful. We loved sitting on the back patio and taking in the rolling hills and distant mountains. Bass Lake is close; and we even made the 35 minute trip to the Vons in Oakhurst to stock the kitchen for the week. Mark was an excellent host who was there for any needs, but pretty much left us to ourselves."

  • Jasmin

"We came up here for a family get together and we had an amazing time. The views were beautiful, the house was walking distance from the lake. The place was very clean and newly remodeled. The landlord was very nice. She checked in with us to see if everything was ok. Everyone was very happy, especially the kids. The kids loved the game room. We rerarly saw them lol. We will definitly come back again."

  • The Best Place for a Family Interested in Yosemite and a Unique Setting

"With our 14 yr old, 11 yr old, and our labradoodle along for a winter Road Trip, we had high hopes for a great time at the Vineyard House, using it as a staging area for Yosemite and environs like Badger Pass for snow fun. The anticipation for a great time was heightened by the very informative and helpful communications with proprietor Kirsty, who is a patient and knowledgeable host. When we arrived, we found the house was impeccably put together, with details that make this property far above the VRBO norm. Everything from the kitchen equipment to the linens to the hot tub to the comfy furniture are all first rate, high quality, and well thought out for guests' enjoyment. The house was incredibly comfortable and charming in every respect. We did less exploring than we first planned after our first day in Yosemite, choosing to enjoy the local surroundings and relax at the house as well as go on nearby hikes. Kirsty and her team have done a remarkable thing with the house, and even the most picky or discerning visitor would be well satisfied with every aspect of the facilities and the appointments. There is a lot to do in the area, and the guidebooks and suggested activities that are found in the house literature were VERY helpful. We did great hikes found in the guidebook, noting one of them being very good for dogs, too (I forget the name but it's in the book, noted, as are others from other guests' experiences). The kids enjoyed every aspect of the stay, as did we. The location is beautiful, with plentiful birds around the house to watch, a big swing to use while enjoying the view, and the patio and several sitting areas all over the property were very inviting for a few moments of quiet reverie. And still, the WiFi is there when you want to check back into the other reality you left behind, and the satellite television worked great. There were many little details that we noted as very thoughtful and clever to make things just perfect, but my suggestion is for people to go find them for themselves and have a great time at Vineyard House. We hope to return in the Fall or even again for a winter trip, and would choose this property above anything else in the area or in most of California! Thanks, Kristy!"
