Amazing, Amazing place, so pleased we stayed here!
"We recently stayed here for 3 nights in early August (family of 4, kids aged 7 and 12). I'm so pleased that we decided to stay here rather than down in Yosemite Village (great views there but packed with people - Yosemite Disney) ....We stayed in Sage cabin, both cabins are pretty identical, next to each other but feel very private, even when we were barbecuing outdoors at the same time as our neighbours. There are a few other cabins around in the hamlet but it feels remote. Gorgeous views, simply breath-taking. It's easily accessible though and only a 35 minute drive to the Village where there are lots of organised activities.
The owner Steve was very responsive. Super helpful during the booking process. And also sent on really useful links for hikes and other things to do in Yosemite. There are also several good books in the cabin for hikes and things to do. We did a couple of hikes, one over at Tenaya Lake, swam in the lake too. My 12 year old went rock climbing in the Village - excellent tuition. We all went stargazing one night in the Village too.
The cabin had everything we needed. Well kitted out. Really clean. We did our grocery shopping before we entered the park (as suggested by Steve) as the local ones in Yosemite are somewhat limited. Our kids slept upstairs in the loft area - they loved it. But there's a vertical ladder to climb up there, it's quite high, so wouldn't be easy/safe for younger kids or big adults (sofa downstairs instead!)
Overall this was one of the most wonderful places in which we've stayed. 3 days just wasn't enough.
Huge thanks Steve!"

"Used El Cap View as our base for a week of day hikes and it was perfect. This was my first trip to Yosemite and I was not disappointed. Doe was awesome with communication before our arrival. Location inside the park was perfect, no lines for us. The home has all you'll need. We cooked inside and outside on the gas grill. We enjoyed our mornings and evenings on the back deck and front porch. Total quiet. Drove five minutes to a great overlook of Yosemite Valley for sunsets and sunrises. This cottage is perfect for hikers as it is convenient to all the "must do" trails. Doe even gave me a lift to Yosemite Valley one morning so that I could rent a bike and do the tour on my own as others in my party were going the other direction for the day. I know taxi service was not in the agreement but it was much appreciated on this day. Come here! Stay here!"

"This is a gorgeous cabin in a great location. It is close to Yosemite and a short walk to the Village. The cabin has a wonderful deck in the back to enjoy meals. It is totally kid friendly. Just a wonderful place to stay!!"

"From the moment we unlocked our front door, we were at home. The house was spacious and cozy at the same time, accommodating a range of generations, offering both privacy and a variety of gathering spaces. The kitchen was well equipped, and roomy enough for several cooks at a time. The decor is tasteful and appropriate to the area; we especially appreciated wall art that helped us understand the flora, fauna, and geography of the park. We were grateful for the gas assist in the fireplace, as the firewood was not seasoned enough to "catch." Another very helpful touch was the set of detailed, accurate instructions for using the many electronic entertainment systems in the living area (loved the surround sound). For us Angelinos, Wawona is the perfect locale: it's the closest park entrance, and yet is a perfect hub for all the park zones: Mariposa Grove, Pioneer Yosemite History Center, Chilnualna Falls, Glacier Point, Yosemite West, and the Valley Floor. We enjoyed a delightful dinner at the Wawona Hotel, too. Although we took the owners' advice and stocked up at a supermarket in Oakhurst on our way in, I agree with other reviewers that the two convenience stores in Wawona have quite a bit to offer. The Redwoods office staff was friendly and efficient. Our stay was brief and whetted our appetite to return and take in more of the area's attractions, and we would choose 41R again in a heartbeat. Thank you for a lovely family vacation."
