"wawona glade is one of the nicest vacation rentals we ever rented. beautiful location. kitchen well stocked. beautiful home. very comfortable. my family loved having the playground and the little cabin for the kids to play in and the fire pit to make smores under the starry sky every night."

  • Super-clean and convenient and plenty big

"The home is perfect for a couple (probably way more room than you will need) and also perfect for 4 if you have 2 kids. The entire place was super-clean and well-stocked in terms of all you would need if you follow Tom and Theresa's advice on shopping on your way into the park (it's all on their website). This was soooo much better than staying in a hotel. You are an easy drive to Wawona and super-close to Badger Pass. The village is also about 30 minutes and a lovely drive. Can't fathom being disappointed staying here. They have a great place and are super easy to deal with. Would recommend without reservation."

  • Wonderfully perfect!

"We stayed for 5 days at Alpenglow. There were 6 adults and 4 kids...with PLENTY of room for all of us. A nice large living room to sit around the fire and play games, chat, or read. A den with a tv and games/books/movies for kids kept the noise away from the main living room. Beautiful deck, great space for kids to explore right outside the front and back doors. Kitchen had great appliances, bathrooms were well stocked and super clean. My mother had a broken knee cap and was in a full leg cast during the trip...and while the place is probably officially not handicap equipped...it actually worked out just fine for us. There is a walkway from the driveway up to the back door that does not require steps, just a gentle slope...so she was able to get in and out of the house just fine. There is a bedroom on the bottom floor with a king-sized bed and bathroom for those that might have mobility issues. Everything worked out great for her. The kids slept in every possible place because there were so many to choose from. Futons, beds, pull-out sofa sleeper, etc. They said each of them was plenty comfortable and they loved trying a new place each night. It was like an adventure for them to explore all the different options. We had all different weather while we were there...snow, sun, rain. The house was well controlled by the heater and insulation...we weren't too hot or too cold. Lots of blankets, sheets, towels, pillows...never lacked for anything to feel more comfortable. We highly recommend taking the short hike out to see Foresta Falls. And, if you find that you're just dying to use your cell phone...the reception on that hike is unusually good for the area. Better than within the Foresta housing area and the Valley floor, actually. Wifi at Alpenglow is slow (and the owners tell you that in advance)...but you shouldn't be there for computing anyways, right?! If you just have to post photos to Facebook...do it on the hike to foresta falls. The caretakers obviously love the house and put a great deal of effort to keep it nice for their visitors. The house was ready exactly at the time it was supposed to be for check-in...the instructions for check-out were easy to follow. We couldn't find anything wrong with the place. Seriously a wonderful time!"

  • Love this place

"This is a delightful midcentury property with everything we needed for an anniversary stay near Yosemite. Filled with art and history and nice example of mid-century architecture and decor. It took us an hour or so to drive all the way into the park, and this little home away from home was everything we needed for pleasant mornings and evenings in. We had our anniversary lunch at the Ahwahnee and cooked a couple of fine steaks at "our Oakhurst home" that evening. In Oakhurst you have everything you need for a wide selection of groceries. For dinner you can try Crabcakes and there's Pete's for a huge breakfast. But we really enjoyed making the most of this house."
