  • Pure Magic.

"Picture a place like this: An oasis with green grass, trees for shade, and rustic wooden tables and benches. Butterflies fluttering around fragrant lavender bushes that perfume the breeze. Whimsical wind chimes and dozens of hummingbirds flitting about. Resident dogs Loki and Mini playing in the grass and chasing lizards. A pleasant creek filled with little fish for the dogs to pounce on. Nightly bonfires with a cold beer and warm conversation. A luxurious hot tub and pool to relax in after a long day. Cozy cottage with a comfy bed and beautiful view, interesting books to capture the imagination, and all the necessary comforts of home. No expense spared on gorgeous fixtures and architectural design. All of the above describes the enchanted grounds and ambiance of Spinning Wheel, where the Crescent Cottage is nestled away from the activity of Yosemite. If it sounds like a fairytale come to life, that's because that's precisely what this place is. My husband and I stayed here for three days in the midst of a California road trip. Boy, we wish we had planned to stay longer. Spinning Wheel was a huge part of what made our time in Yosemite our favorite part of the trip. After hiking all day and exploring the beauty of the park, we relished coming home to our little cottage and the beautiful Spinning Wheel grounds. I've never seen anything like it, and I can't emphasize enough the pure MAGIC and specialness of this place. Owner Dharma and property manager Patrick were extremely friendly and inviting. They make you feel like family friends there for a visit. Extremely laid back and pleasant people. It's not a question of if but WHEN we will return to Spinning Wheel, and we are dying to bring friends because simply telling people about this place doesn't do it justice. Do yourself a favor and book yourself an extra day or two at Spinning Wheel. I have no doubt that this place will become as special to you as it is to me, and probably every guest who stays there. We can't wait to return."

  • Beautiful cabin nestled in the wood, perfect for a Yosemite getaway

"My friends and I had a lovely two-night stay at the Hummingbird Raven house over MLK weekend. We enjoyed sharing meals, sitting around the dining room table, and playing games on the living room floor. We had a party of eight adults and it was a nice, cozy and comfortable gathering. The bunk room is a little small for adults, but the master BR is very spacious and the other two spaces worked great. We had a great time making ourselves at home and exploring that part of the park. The drought meant there was very little snow on Badger Pass Road this year, so we ended up hiking in Yosemite Valley in January in 65 degree weather. I would recommend this place highly to other travelers."

  • Wow! Great home!

"This is such a wonderful home! My family of 9 stayed several days and pictures could never do it justice. The beds SO comfortable and the little market 1/2 block down the street. Kitchen very well equiped and could seat 17! Master suite wonderful also. 1 hour drive to the valley and only a few miles to the giant sequoias. Short hike to beautiful falls. My 3 grandchildren loved bundling up and sitting on the deck in the morning. Loved everything about it. Only tip...dishwasher takes a LONG time to wash. Had a little blip at check in but office took good care to fix issue and were delightful to deal with.Would love to stay again."

  • Beautiful Yosemite Retreat

"This cabin truly is a secret meadow retreat close to Yosemite National Park. The property is large and beautiful, with open meadow space, tall pine trees, big wooden deck, hammock, tranquility, nature etc. The cabin itself has a rustic and cozy feel to it, surrounded by beautiful trees and with a nice view of the meadow. It has everything you would need, including comfortable beds, wi-fi, family room with TV. It was ready for our arrival, and we felt right at home. We spent time in the park, and with the proximity to the valley floor were able to come back to the cabin and relax in the evening, even after a nice full day in Yosemite. There is plenty of room to spread out, so it's a great option for families, or a group of friends. We spent a long weekend here this April with friends, and are returning in October to have our wedding there, and we couldn't be more excited. The owner has been helpful, attentive to detail, and honest - not to mention willing to help make our special day perfect. We really recommend this place!"
