"My family visited Mariposa, Yosemite area mid July 2014. We had the privilege of staying in this beautiful home. We had a wonderful time! This house was perfect for our family reunion. It was also convenient to both entrances to Yosemite park as well as two very lovely towns. Everything went great through VRBO and Eve was wonderful to deal with, there were no issues with our rental and communication was the best. Never used VRBO, but will again after this great experience. Thanks"Guest: lisa s. Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 6, 2014View listing
"The pictures tell the story quite accurately - this place is well situated with wonderful views, and away from it all. No noise from traffic at all! We would sit out on the deck for evening cocktails and morning coffee transfixed by the beautiful surrounding mountains. Everything was perfect - the place is immaculate with every conceivable item. Kathleen has thought of it all. We really liked the ecological focus for the home which was our first attraction when looking, and then when we saw the place for real, it is really impressive and amazing. The kitchen was fabulous, rooms comfortable and showers perfect (after a long day hiking in Yosemite). The internet was outstanding -quick and without any hitches. Our Verizon phones got 4 bars of service. The electronics are really modern - almost more than we could figure out given all the gadgets. Alex showed up in less than 3 minutes to help us figure it out. There is no cable tv so we missed our favorite show, but that was a minor inconvenience. The grocery store in Mariposa is first class with everything you would want or need, so stop there on the way and stock up. My only wish was it could be a bit closer to the park - we ended up logging lots of miles that week as we explored all corners of Yosemite, and then had the 'extra' miles to/from. Ah but the drive was easy and scenic - my wife snoozed on the way home as I cruised along window open enjoying the breeze... Thank you for such a special place - it made my first visit to Yosemite a trip I will always remember fondly."Guest: nick b. Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: October 1, 2014View listing
"We had so much fun staying at the beautiful home. It has the feel of a hotel!. The bar and pool table were such a hit. We stay with two families and it was a perfection fit for our families. First of all, the kitchen is amazing. I am a huge cook and everything I could think of was available. We fit 20 people for dinner around the table. What a blast. The bedrooms are enormous. Michelle was a great communicator and we have zero issues. I would book this home again in a heartbeat."Guest: Linda Date of Stay: November 2014 Review Submitted: November 21, 2014View listing
"Just returned from a stay at this lovely home with our family. It's well situated, immaculate, well equipped and just a great place for a relaxing vacation. We enjoyed the walking path to the lake, the pool, hot tub and tennis courts. The house is in a nice little neighborhood and is surrounded by trees. A short drive to the Pines Resort. Maria, the owner, was most gracious and helpful. Highly recommended!"Guest: EmeritaProf Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: June 24, 2014View listing

Visitors who enjoy wildlife viewing can explore the park daily and seek out animals to get some great wildlife photographs. Yosemite has some world-famous climbing crags that attract climbers from around the globe. It is also a popular National Park for hiking. Things to See and Do near Yosemite Cabins
Yosemite is famous for its incredible waterfalls. There are seven spectacular waterfalls within the park and a further four just outside of it. The Yosemite Falls are made of three smaller waterfalls known as the upper, middle and lower falls. In total, the waterfall has a drop of 2,425 feet, making it the fifth highest waterfall in the world. The Ribbon Falls cascade off the west side of El Capitan and have a drop of 1,612 feet. The Ribbon Falls is the tallest single waterfall in the United States. Other waterfalls include the beautiful Bridalveil Falls, so named because the wind often blows the waterfall, spreading out the water like a bridal veil. The Horsetail Falls is a seasonal waterfall than runs for several weeks in February off the eastern side of El Capitan. The background light from the sun lights up the waterfall in a spectacular way, making it look as though it’s on fire.
Yosemite’s rock formations provide excellent subjects for photographs, especially in the early morning or late afternoon sunlight. Some of the more famous landmarks include El Capitan which is a 7,569-foot granite peak that rises up from the valley floor. It is a challenging and well-known rock climbing face. Mt. Lyell is the tallest peak in the park and also home to the park’s only active glacier. The peak rises up to an impressive height of 13,114 feet. The Matterhorn peak is at an altitude of 12,264 feet and part of a series of peaks that make up the Sawtooth Ridge in the northeastern part of the park.
Best Time of Year to Visit Yosemite Lodging
Because of the extensive amount of trails and wildlife viewing opportunities, most people prefer to visit during the summer season. This is also the season when the waterfalls are at their most spectacular. The long summer days are ideal for exploring and enjoying your favorite outdoor activities. Yet summer is not the only season when it’s worth visiting Yosemite. The fall and winter months are particularly beautiful in the park. Snow occurs at higher altitudes and there is a ski resort at Badger Pass which has a number of ski runs. Cross country skiing is also available at Mariposa Grove.
