  • Delightful Stay

"This is the 3rd year that I have rented this cabin for a get-away long weekend. It has been just great each year and I look forward to returning for my escape from the heat of Palm Desert, where I live. It is so comfortable and has all amenities you could want. It hasn't been available for weekend rentals in July, or I would be back more often. The owner is very friendly and responsive. It is surprisingly roomy and for 3 single friends, the 3 bedrooms give us each our privacy. Also, my dog gets to come and we go up in the mountain to do some field trainig. We'll be back next year!"

  • Perfect!

"I had a small wedding (about 40 people) at the Appaloosa Estate this past May, and let me tell you, this is a spectacular place to stay! Dan and Linda are super accommodating, sweet, and very helpful! When I was looking for a place to have a wedding, I wanted to find somewhere that we could have the whole thing, and this was the best find I could have possibly imagined. Dan right off the bat insisted that we go up to Big Bear and see it in person and talk with him before we made any final decisions, and let me say that the moment we walked into the house, it was a done deal. My party used every inch of that house, and every little thing was in amazing shape and totally beautiful. My (then fiance, now husband) went up there a few times and every time Dan and Linda had done more little cute decorative things that were so Big Bear we just loved it. We had our wedding in the lot next door, where Dan built benches and an altar for such an occasion, and it was so perfect for us. I could not have imagined a forest wedding looking as beautiful as it did, and being as comfortable as it was! The staircase when you walk into the house is breathtaking, and great for pictures. The bedrooms are all comfortable, as are the pull-out beds that we utilized upstairs in the loft. The backyard is rustic; my reception had a very authentic woodsy feeling, which was exactly what I wanted. And the backyard is huge! We had a photo area, corn-hole game, six tables, and still plenty more room. The kitchen is fabulous, perfect for cooking and the dining tables are large. We were up there in late May, and it got cold at night, but was beautiful and sunny--although a little windy--during the day. I absolutely loved Appaloosa Estate, I can't say enough how happy I was to have my very special day there, and how awesome the owners are. Also- if you need a photographer for anything, ask them about their contact, Holly, who is totally fabulous."

  • Home Again exceeded every expectation!

"Home Again was exactly what we needed. First of all, the location could not be better. It was under 10 mins to get to everything we wanted to do. Grocery store, Alpine slide, Mountain biking to name a few. We also took advantage of the close walks to the hiking trails right out the back door! As for the house itself, the pictures do not do it justice. The rooms were comfortable, and had everything you could need. The kitchen was perfect for staying in a cooking. The patio was a perfect setting for dinner and breakfast. Could not be happier! We will absolutely be back! The owner Tammy was extremely accommodating and overall just a very nice person to talk to! Cant wait for next time."

  • Family Retreat

"Exactly what my family was looking for. Cozy for quality time with the family. Pleasantly surprised at how kid friendly the place was with gated stairs, high chair, pack and play, bed railings for the bunk beds. This made for a much more relaxing place with a toddler! My family also commented that they enjoyed the decor saying it was much better quality that other places we've tried and felt more like a real home away from home. The hiking was just out the back door and had beautiful views. Quaint small town, not over crowded like the other major towns. The cabin was clean and well stocked with the essentials I always seem to forget. The owners were friendly and answered all if my many questions. Would definitely recommend and plan on returning in the future!"
