  • Centrally located and very comfortable

". It was great that on a busy winter weekend we were able to just walk to the ski slopes in 2 minutes rather than worry about parking. We also were able to walk home for lunch instead of eating on the mountain. 2. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking as well as a nice bbq out back. 3. We were able to bring our dog to enjoy the weekend with us! 4. Property was very neat and clean, would stay again! The location of this Bear Mountain rental house is perfect, and my friends and I had an amazing stay. Not only was it comfortable, nicely decorated, and fully equipped, but the outdoor space complete with a BBQ was a nice touch. We spent the weekend enjoying the lovely scenery, and our dog was even able to come enjoy the trip as well, since there is a fenced dog run. I was nervous that a pet friendly house wouldn't be as nice (which we experienced with other rentals; the fault of the renters and the owner, in my opinion) but I was wrong. It was very clean and tidy; it is clear that everything had been cleaned before we came. The house is a very short walk from the ski slopes; it just took a couple of minutes to walk. Not having to drive to the slopes is so much easier and more convenient. The other attractions nearby within walking distance and short driving distance also helped to make the trip more fun. Hiking and visiting the nearby zoo were great fun, an the central location of this cabin let us pack more into our day."

  • Clean, comfortable, good layout for group of 6-8

"Our group fit well in this house. We were a group of 4 adults and 4 kids. As you walk in, you are faced with the stairs leading up to the kitchen, great room, guest bath, and master bath and bedroom. On the entry level floor are two other bedrooms, one with a queen or full, and one with a bunk. There is also a bathroom with double sinks, a laundry room, and access to the garage. We had a great time at this place, whether it was playing games or cooking meals (the kitchen is a tad small if everyone is trying to get in it at the same time), but there is a counter with bar stools to hang out while the cook cooks. There is a fun shuffle board game, and tons of games and books on the shelves. There is a Wii, but bring your own games. In the garage is a nice quality ping pong table, which we had a blast playing. The garage is empty, so you can store your car or bikes or luggage or whatever in it. This was nice, as most rentals don't grant you access to the garage. You can walk from this location to the zoo, or just take a stroll around the neighborhood. The view from the balcony is of a tennis court, which wasn't totally picturesque, but we did use the balcony to BBQ, and sit in the sun. One of the best parts about this place was the big long dining table with bench seating. It was very inviting and just a great place to hang out and play games and talk. We had two teens stay in the downstairs room and two younger kids stay on the pullout couches upstairs. It worked out great. There is also a baby gate on the top and bottom of the stairs, which I appreciated even though our kids are older, with it being a strange setting, I felt better that no one would wake up and stumble down the stairs in the middle of the night. The welcome packet emailed from the hosts had great info about nearby hikes and restaurants. Great wifi. When necessary to get in touch with the owners, Stephen was readily available, and very accommodating when I requested early check in/late check out."

  • Triplets birthday weekend

"My kids wanted to be on Big Bear for their birthday! So we rented this cabin. We were pleasantly surprised. The backyard was perfect for the kids to go sledding and building a snow man. We can't wait to come back next year!"
