  • Our cousins reunion weekend

"This was the 3rd year out of the past 4 that my cousins and I met in Big Bear, at the Boulder Bay Chalet, for a reunion weekend. It gets better each year. In 2014, 20 of us enjoyed a phenomenal time, much of it due to the friendly, cozy atmosphere of the Chalet. Ten of us stayed at the Chalet, and we all used it as our meeting home. Everything worked well, and the pontoon boat was utilized to it's fullest. We ate all our meals at the Chalet, enjoyed the room, the extensive group of recreational "toys", the views, the quiet, the ample parking, the 11 second walk to the lake, the BBQ, the big screen TV, and as so many of my cousins put it, "the feeling that we were home away from home again". Many thanks to Nancy, her fine housekeeping crew, and for being an integral part of so many memories. We plan to do it annually for many years!"

  • The seclusion and owner set this property apart from the rest, A+...

"We stayed at Tony's cabin in March of 2013 with two small kids. If you are looking for a more resort like property, or a jacuzzi deck this is not the property for you, this is a property for people that want a CABIN. The wood burning stove does an excellent job of heating the cabin evenly and keeping it cozy even when the snow flies outside (we had one night with snow). A few things we learned that will come in handy to future visitors... Don't overpack, the cabin has plenty of utensils, pots, pans and so on and in the end we were glad we brought some paper plates and cups so we didn't have to wash dishes, but most everything you need as far as kitchenware is there. Firewood is everywhere (we brought some). The cabin is isolated and quiet and you will sleep great, town in close enough if you need something. Just understand this is a rustic property, there is hot water for quick showers, but this is a simple few frills property. When we drove up at first we were a little put off by some clutter around the cabin, but understand the owner is building an addition so that part is a work in progress and explains some of the tools about. Super nice owner, easy to deal with and very accommodating. We will definitely stay there again. Great scenery, two kids and we never turned the TV on once."

  • Beautiful location and well organized

"What a great time! The owner was very quick to respond to any questions or concerns I had in regards to our stay. We were all amazed by how accommodating and organized the cottage was. It offered SO MUCH. We really enjoyed having a jacuzzi with an impressive view of Boulder Bay right in front of us. It was a great way to unwind while the sun was setting. The overall feel of the house decor was very "cabin like" complimenting the high wood ceilings and you felt invited and at home. Yet, all the appliances and TVs were all up to date providing a modern touch. Even the beds seemed newer and very comfortable. The private dock with optional pontoon boat and kayaks were a great way to experience the lake and to see Big Bear City shorelines. The boat fired right up and was very easy to manage. Boulder Bay Cottage was an absolute pleasure, Thank You. I would highly recommend this to anybody considering a vacation in Big Bear. There's something for everyone."
