  • Raccoons Nest

"Couldn't be happier with our decision to go with this rental company. Their service was impecable, and unintrusive. The property is very conveniently located to town. It sits about 50 yards away from the lake with great views and its very own dock to boat or fish off. The house itself is very cozy and quaint with everything you need for a wonderful time. I will definetely be back next year for this one. By the way, do not leave food outside. The property lives up to it's name. Don't worry though, the raccoons were really cute and shy. I was able to shoo them away with ease. Hope you guys have fun. Thanks again, Judy"

  • Great Quick Getaway

"Our family was in need of a quick getaway. I was so happy to come across this cabin. Bridget, the owner was a sweet lady full of information and really helped us make this quick getaway a great family vacation.. She was very attentive and easy to reach. Wonderful to rent from. I have four children ages 13, 12, 5 and 9 months. We were excited from the moment we arrived. The cabin is really nice and cozy. We all loved the decor. Its decorated nicely. The middle children stayed in the loft upstairs. My older son had the living room and the pull out sofa. Bridget provided a pack n play which was very convenient for the baby and a baby gate for the stairs. The cabin had more than we expected. We cooked every meal in the kitchen. We enjoyed mornings on the porch and evenings in the hot tub. The hot tub is in a gazebo that has a lake view which is a really nice touch. Big bear was a great vacation for our family. Just down the road is boulder bay and we spent the first day there. We rented a 3 seater kayak and took turns cruising the lake. We did some fishing and my son caught his first fish. Its a great place to catch fish. The second day we took all the kids to the alpine slide. It was great fun for everyone. We rode down the alpine slide and the water slides enjoyed ice cream and the arcade. A few miles away is swim beach. for a small fee you can play on inflatables in the lake. Probably the best place to swim in the lake and the only place that has lifeguards. At night we cruised The Village. The Village has restaurants treats and shopping. We had such a nice relaxing time that we plan on making bearfootin and big bear our yearly summer destination and cant wait to check it out in the winter."

  • The seclusion and owner set this property apart from the rest, A+...

"We stayed at Tony's cabin in March of 2013 with two small kids. If you are looking for a more resort like property, or a jacuzzi deck this is not the property for you, this is a property for people that want a CABIN. The wood burning stove does an excellent job of heating the cabin evenly and keeping it cozy even when the snow flies outside (we had one night with snow). A few things we learned that will come in handy to future visitors... Don't overpack, the cabin has plenty of utensils, pots, pans and so on and in the end we were glad we brought some paper plates and cups so we didn't have to wash dishes, but most everything you need as far as kitchenware is there. Firewood is everywhere (we brought some). The cabin is isolated and quiet and you will sleep great, town in close enough if you need something. Just understand this is a rustic property, there is hot water for quick showers, but this is a simple few frills property. When we drove up at first we were a little put off by some clutter around the cabin, but understand the owner is building an addition so that part is a work in progress and explains some of the tools about. Super nice owner, easy to deal with and very accommodating. We will definitely stay there again. Great scenery, two kids and we never turned the TV on once."

  • The Perfect GetAway

"Had a fabulous 3 night stay at Sol & Kims place. The location is great, the view is awesome. The cabin itself is soooo cute with all the personal touches. It has every thing you could need for bbq's or kitchen cooking. The spa & pool table were our favorite evening entertainment. We also enjoyed taking the rowboat out for some great sunset photo ops from the lake. Didn't get a chance to use the fishing gear, but you could see all the fish jumping in the early morning and could have caught plenty! Morning coffee on the deck was the most relaxing with plenty of bird and critter watching. The sleeping accommodations were very cozy and comfortable for a great night sleep after a long day of hiking & shopping. Marinas are within 5-10 minute drive for renting kayaks or bicycles or boats. The Village is a great place for souvenir shopping and unique gift items. There is a Von's & Stater Bros for groceries. We loved our stay and highly recommend this property. We had 4 adults and 2 teens, but it is also great for families with younger children. The owners are great, easy to work and communicate with. Hopefully we'll be able to return someday."

Boulder Bay Travel Tips

Boulder Bay Cabins are Perfect for All Seasons

Whether you are looking to build fires under bright stars or build snowmen out of fresh snow, the quaint Boulder Bay cabins are ideal during all seasons for that peaceful getaway to nature. Cabins in Boulder Bay sit along the clear water of Big Bear Lake and are tucked away in the San Bernardino Mountains amongst dense forest and rolling hills. In the summer season, visitors hike or mountain-bike the many wilderness trails that wind through untouched woodland and offer sweeping views of mountain tops and valleys. With Boulder Bay cabins, you get all the experiences of camping but with the luxuries of home.

A True Winter Wonderland

Even though it's in Southern California, Big Bear Lake gets a lot of snow because of its high elevation. When the first flakes start falling atop Boulder Bay rental houses, vacationers don't head for the exits, instead even more arrive. It is the winter gem of Southern California, and is popular among locals and out-of-staters alike. A short distance from the cozy warmth of Boulder Bay rental houses are the slopes of Bear Mountain and Snow Summit. Visitors can ski, snowboard or snowshoe the back country, and can definitely expect plenty of fresh powder.

Southern California's Premier Recreational Lake

The city's namesake, and the main reason visitors flock to Big Bear vacation rentals is, of course, the magnificent body of water in the middle of it all, Big Bear Lake. Rental houses in Boulder Bay are only steps away and guests can take advantage of all the water activities offered on Southern California's unrivaled recreational lake. Rent a boat and leisurely cruise the roughly seven miles of fresh blue water, or be a little more adventurous and try water skiing and parasailing. The lake is also a prime destination for anglers, full of a variety of fresh water fish.
