  • Clean, comfortable, good layout for group of 6-8

"Our group fit well in this house. We were a group of 4 adults and 4 kids. As you walk in, you are faced with the stairs leading up to the kitchen, great room, guest bath, and master bath and bedroom. On the entry level floor are two other bedrooms, one with a queen or full, and one with a bunk. There is also a bathroom with double sinks, a laundry room, and access to the garage. We had a great time at this place, whether it was playing games or cooking meals (the kitchen is a tad small if everyone is trying to get in it at the same time), but there is a counter with bar stools to hang out while the cook cooks. There is a fun shuffle board game, and tons of games and books on the shelves. There is a Wii, but bring your own games. In the garage is a nice quality ping pong table, which we had a blast playing. The garage is empty, so you can store your car or bikes or luggage or whatever in it. This was nice, as most rentals don't grant you access to the garage. You can walk from this location to the zoo, or just take a stroll around the neighborhood. The view from the balcony is of a tennis court, which wasn't totally picturesque, but we did use the balcony to BBQ, and sit in the sun. One of the best parts about this place was the big long dining table with bench seating. It was very inviting and just a great place to hang out and play games and talk. We had two teens stay in the downstairs room and two younger kids stay on the pullout couches upstairs. It worked out great. There is also a baby gate on the top and bottom of the stairs, which I appreciated even though our kids are older, with it being a strange setting, I felt better that no one would wake up and stumble down the stairs in the middle of the night. The welcome packet emailed from the hosts had great info about nearby hikes and restaurants. Great wifi. When necessary to get in touch with the owners, Stephen was readily available, and very accommodating when I requested early check in/late check out."

  • Great weekend getaway

"Spent 4th of July weekend at this great cabin. The place is easy to find, nicely upgraded, and in a quiet part of Moonridge. Well stocked and very comfortable. It was perfect for our family reunion weekend. Several other family members stayed in cabins nearby so this place gave us a nice retreat from the chaos that families can have. Plus, there was enough space for all of us to gather for afternoon happy hour and enjoy the comfortable living area and porch. Located close enough to the small commercial area in Moonridge that you can walk to get a sandwich or morning coffee. Also, close drive to the village without the noise and traffic in your front yard. Will definitely try to find time to come back."

  • great family getaway

"We loved this property! Martin is a great host and there are quite a few nice personal touches to the décor inside the house. The house has a very homey log cabin feel. The main living room on the 2nd floor with the high ceiling is very conducive for large family gatherings. We had a group of 9, 3 kids, plenty of room for everyone to hang out together or private space between the first floor game room, second floor main living room, or the 3rd floor retreat. The kitchen is large with everything you need. The dining table is very large and sat us all with room to spare. There are some games on the premise but we brought our own as well. The BBQ was not working but Martin is aware of that. We were fortunate enough to experience snow during our stay, the kids thoroughly enjoyed the snow falling experience. Looking at snow falling in the backyard through the huge living room windows was truly an awesome experience. The garages can park up to 4 cars though due to the steep slope on the upper garage, we used only the lower garage for parking. The upper garage also housed the ping pong table, which we used. The location is very convenient, very close to local markets and drug stores for all the supplies. And minutes to the village for good eats. Quiet neighborhood with access to a small trail on the hill behind the house. Good view of the lake from top of the hill. We had a really good time at this cozy, yet roomy, mountain retreat. Thank you Martin!"

  • Great House! Great Time!

"We had such a nice trip with our family at this beautiful house. The rooms, the kitchen, living and dining area were very spacious with plenty of room to play board games and spend time with family. The house was very clean upon arrival with fresh linens and towels. Which may seem like nothing, but we've stayed in other homes that were dusty and linens were musty so the attention to detail was a big deal to us! The house truly feels like a home away from home and the owner was so pleasant and very easy to get a hold of. We hope to visit again soon!"
