  • Camp Run a Muk

"Beautiful property and the owners are fantastic! Very comfortable home with plenty to do for all inside and outside. Our kids and grandkids spent most of the day in the back yard building a snow man and igloo as well sledding down the slope, did not even leave the house. Perfect location, close to every. We highly recommend this property and its owners, we will definitely be coming back!!"

  • Big Bear Friend Vacation

"I booked the house in January and from the onset Diane was wonderful. When I was finally able to meet her in March, upon my arrival, I was so pleased we had chosen the right homeowner to facilitate our inaugural Friend Vacation. She was warm, thoughtful, compassionate, personable, welcoming, informative, professional, and extended the kind of hospitality you'd expect from a friend of 20+ years. We could not have asked for a better experience. My friends and I, 13 of us total, descended on Big Bear early Friday afternoon. Each of us travelling from different California locales. Diane had informed me that the house is "grandma's house on the lake" and was not a cabin per say; I agree with this and can say that the personal touches made the house feel like we were visiting a relative. While the duck room was explained as a children's retreat the five 20-somethings that stayed in it found an equal amount of joy from the comfortable beds and the VHS library (Jumanji was the winner, Lion King was a close second). The expansive deck was used for grilling dinners, hot-tubbing (morning, noon, and night), and communal breakfasts in the lovely sunshine. The guys loved the pool table and the girls loved starting crackling fires in both fireplaces downstairs. In case you are wondering about house lay-out, all bedrooms are upstairs, common areas - including the laundry room - are downstairs. The neighborhood was quiet, good for walks to the drought-revealed beach or the small park nearby. A few of us even ventured to Big Bear Coffee CO one morning and loved the store proprietor (appx 10 min walk). After a trip to the grocery store (Vons) and the local Kmart we were all stocked up with the necessities - sunscreen, snacks, drinking water, bubbles. Highlights include: sunset views, working fireplaces, clean environment, comfortable beds, clear guidelines and rules for the house, responsive homeowner prior to the trip, and a welcome treat (everyone submitted photos and they were framed in the house for our arrival, made it feel like it was our place). PS) If you stay, you become very familiar with the rule: No leaning back in the yellow chairs. ;)"

  • Family Fun

"Enjoyed the cabin with our adult children and grandchildren. Not much snow, so the many activities provided by the house itself were appreciated. There were lots of games and books for all ages. The kitchen was well stocked including having a multitude of spices. The house is beautiful and the owners keep in contact prior to and afterwards to ensure a delightful visit."
