  • Good Cabin for Large Groups

"We stayed in this cabin for Super Bowel weekend and found it was a good cabin for a group of 12 but it does lack some amenities. We understand it is a cabin and not a hotel so we were expecting some minor issues. For instance there are 4 TV's but the TV in the ground floor bedroom is not hooked up to the cable so unless you happen to have a 20' long piece of threaded cable it will be unwatchable. Also, there were 4 remotes but there were batteries in only 2 of them. If you prefer bars of soap when you shower bring your own because the soap provided is the pump style. Also, there were towels provided in the bathrooms but only one hand towel and one wash cloth for the whole cabin. Our daughter stayed in the bedroom off of the kitchen and she said there was an unusual amount of static electricity in that room. She said when ever they picked up a blanket there was a static electric spark and she and her daughters received many small shocks. A small but shocking discovery... Also, there is only recessed lights through out the cabin. There are no floor lamps which makes looking at the TV controls difficult. Bring flashlights. One of the beds had sheets with several stains but we had prepared for this by bringing sleeping bags. The cabin does have a nice deck which overlooks the area. The shower is the master bedroom is clean and large enough for 2 or 3 people. The furniture is sparse but not old or broken down like some cabins. The kids loved the basketball game in the game room. It is close to almost any where you would want to go. We did report to the management that the coffee maker needs a cleaning as the coffee it produced was bad. Be prepared to hike. There are 33 stairs from your car up to the the kitchen. If there is snow or ice on the stairs they do provide salt. Because of the cabin's size and construction we were not disturbed by other family members during our stay. For the amount charged and what we received we did feel the cabin was a good value."

  • LOVELY COZY CABIN!!!

"We rented the Bear Chalet for our family's 4th of July getaway, and we couldn't have been happier! The house is cozy & sparkling clean, there is plenty of room, and the beds are super comfy. The kitchen is also well stocked and has nice, new appliances. The deck and backyard were our favorite part, as it's large and beautiful with nothing but forest for miles to stare at and take in the sounds of the wildlife. The perfect meaning of "peace and quiet!!", while still within a 5 minute drive to town. We also truly enjoyed using the bbq to cook our meals, and relaxing in the giant hot tub at night. We can't wait to return in the Winter time, and make it a tradition for our family. Nicole, the property owner is very helpful and accommodating! Thank you again for a great trip. I highly recommend this cabin for the perfect Big Bear vacation!!"

  • Great place for a family get-a-way

"Large one story cabin with beautiful stained glass windows throughout! Cooked all our meals in the large kitchen. Great dinning table inside and 2 patio tables outside. Wonderful huge deck overlooking large back yard with rope swing. We sat on the porch and watched our son play in the backyard and on the swing for hours. Lots of puzzles, toys, card decks, Legos and 3 TVs with dozens of Disney VHS tapes. Very comfortable for 5 of us! Walk-in closet in the master was large enough for the roll-away bed to fit and sleep one person, if needed. Portable crib was also available."
