  • Good Cabin for Large Groups

"We stayed in this cabin for Super Bowel weekend and found it was a good cabin for a group of 12 but it does lack some amenities. We understand it is a cabin and not a hotel so we were expecting some minor issues. For instance there are 4 TV's but the TV in the ground floor bedroom is not hooked up to the cable so unless you happen to have a 20' long piece of threaded cable it will be unwatchable. Also, there were 4 remotes but there were batteries in only 2 of them. If you prefer bars of soap when you shower bring your own because the soap provided is the pump style. Also, there were towels provided in the bathrooms but only one hand towel and one wash cloth for the whole cabin. Our daughter stayed in the bedroom off of the kitchen and she said there was an unusual amount of static electricity in that room. She said when ever they picked up a blanket there was a static electric spark and she and her daughters received many small shocks. A small but shocking discovery... Also, there is only recessed lights through out the cabin. There are no floor lamps which makes looking at the TV controls difficult. Bring flashlights. One of the beds had sheets with several stains but we had prepared for this by bringing sleeping bags. The cabin does have a nice deck which overlooks the area. The shower is the master bedroom is clean and large enough for 2 or 3 people. The furniture is sparse but not old or broken down like some cabins. The kids loved the basketball game in the game room. It is close to almost any where you would want to go. We did report to the management that the coffee maker needs a cleaning as the coffee it produced was bad. Be prepared to hike. There are 33 stairs from your car up to the the kitchen. If there is snow or ice on the stairs they do provide salt. Because of the cabin's size and construction we were not disturbed by other family members during our stay. For the amount charged and what we received we did feel the cabin was a good value."

  • Birdsong Terrace

"I have been staying in big bear for the past 7 yrs, Great way to celebrate my birthday and get my free lift ticket. Destination big bear is one of the easiest sites to find cabins and the reps on the phone are really knowledgeable and friendly. I have visited every single website to rent cabins and this was the easiest, quickest and trust worthy site I could find. We rented a 10 people cabin called Birdsong Terrace, it had flat screens in all the rooms, jacuzzi, game room and plenty of beds. The best part of the cabin was the great views and proximity to everything. This cabin would be perfect if you plan on going to bear mountain. I can't wait for my trip next year!"
