  • Perfect for our little family!

"We (me, husband, baby, toddler, and dog) stayed in this cabin for 5 nights and really enjoyed it! The pictures and reviews were accurate. I always appreciate detailed reviews so I will try to do the same here ... Cons: - I don't think the cleaning company did a thorough job. Luckily I found the vacuum and was able to vacuum the entire downstairs. It looked as if they quickly swept the floors and that was all. Normally, I wouldn't be too bothered by this, but I have a crawler who puts everything in her mouth so clean floors are a must. - There were old used sponges in the kitchen sink. Personally I don't want to wash dishes with an old sponge that another stranger used on who knows what. PROS: - loved the bedrooms upstairs! Carpeted (these looked cleaned...I didn't see any dog hair from previous renters). - the master bed was very very comfortable!!!!!! It was so nice to have the door opened to the balcony in the mornings. - the 2nd bedroom worked perfectly for our toddler and had plenty of room for the baby's pack and play - being able to do a load of laundry while we were there was another huge plus - 5 minutes to town. 10-15 minutes to the Village - We had difficulty with the WiFi, but the problem was quickly fixed. Ryan, the owner, responded very quickly to my texts about this and did everything he could to help us. - quiet neighborhood All in all a great place to stay at a fabulous price. We would stay here again...maybe in the winter next time :)"

  • Truely a cozy cabin!

"We enjoyed are stay here and look forward to possibly using it again. It was very reasonable and the owner worked with me. He was flexable on dates and helped me secure my small vacation in just minutes. We went hiking, sight seeing and even flew in a helicopter for our first time. Thanks to owner Jeremy, our trip was awsome and afordable and a huge success! GK - Downey, Ca."

Sugarloaf Travel Tips

Sugarloaf Cabins Are Surrounded by a National Forest and Close to the Slopes

The small community of Sugarloaf is located near Big Bear Lake and lies within the San Bernardino National Forest, the only region in Southern California where the climate, at 7,000 feet, allows for distinct seasons. Warm summers and snowy winters create an assortment of recreational opportunities for visitors including skiing, snowboarding, sledding, hiking, and boating, which are all accessible from Sugarloaf cabins and Sugarloaf rental houses. Los Angeles is only about 100 miles southwest of the Big Bear Lake area, but the climate and the flora and fauna up in the mountains are vastly different from that of L.A. and coastal Southern California. Visitors come to the high elevations of the San Bernardino Mountains to enjoy the alpine tundra climate, the spectacular mountain scenery, and all the unique ways to enjoy the outdoors that change with the seasons.

A Winter Wonderland Tucked Away in the Woods, Yet Not Far From the Action

Sugarloaf rental houses are minutes from the ski slopes of Snow Summit and Bear Mountain, two of Southern California's top ski resorts that together provide dozens of trails, lifts, and snowboard parks for all skill levels. The two resorts, which offer interchangeable lift tickets, encompass nearly 450 acres of snow-covered terrain for skiers and snowboarders. In the spring, summer, and fall seasons visitors can choose from an array of activities in this setting of breathtaking alpine terrain including golfing, fishing, mountain biking, trail hiking and scenic sky-chair rides.

Your Own Private Mountain Lodge for a Vacation You'll Never Forget

After a day in the bracing mountain air, the comfort of Big Bear vacation rentals await weary but invigorated "mountaineers" who want to kick back and relax in their own living spaces, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, laundry facilities, and private outdoor areas. You'll be way out in the woods—but with all the comforts of home in Sugarloaf cabins.
