  • Perfect Getaway Home

"We used this location for our church's men's retreat and it was great. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The house is big enough so that people hang out together or find a quiet space somewhere; but the layout is perfect so you are never too far from anyone. Everyone had great things to say about the property. We look forward to booking again next year."

"We enjoyed the time in your home. The space allowed us to bring children and grandchildren for 2 families. The number of rooms was perfect, but a few more bathrooms are needed. The size of the kitchen was great but the dishwasher is falling apart (inside). It is very old as were many items in the kitchen. The coffee maker and the blender didn't work but the rental company brought new ones fairly quickly. While the place looked clean on the surface, it needed to be ALOT cleaner. Several bathroom sinks were dirty and had to be washed out before use. The kitchen floor felt sticky. There was very little toilet paper and no tissues. The kitchen only had 1 roll of paper towels. With 14 people those items go quickly. The stove had a problem with one of the knobs and when turning off a burner it did not turn the gas off. We were ready to call the rental company when we realized the knob was broken and was able to get the gas off. This could have been a MAJOR issue. Couldn't that burner again. Game room was nice. Air hockey didn't work but the ping pong table was great. We also had enough room to add the "party" pong table we brought."

  • The Getaway was spectacular!

"The Getaway was spectacular! When we arrived Gary (the owner) met me to give us a tour of the property and explain all the amenities. First things first- Gary had made sure the hot-tub was serviced and in top shape the day we arrived. That means all the chemicals had been changed, the jets had been checked, and the heating elements were fully functional. I mention this first for two reasons: 1) I've been relayed multiple stories of friends renting cabins and being promised hot tubs, only to arrive to a non-functional spa; and 2) The hot tub was the hit of the party! It can accommodate 4 full-size adults at a time and is covered from direct sunlight and rain. I bring up the rain because my group had the luck to arrive on a weekend of rain and thunderstorms (good thing we weren't deep in the National Forest!). However, the rain didn't spoil our trip in the slightest. We were a group of 10 and we were never wanting for amenities during our trip. Because of the rain we decided to spend our nights inside, though we cooked each meal on the unit's propane grill. The propane tank was filled and ready-to-go when we arrived, and the grill itself had enough space to cook for all ten people at once, plus room for extras. The game room was also a big hit. There was a bumper pool table and most importantly: foosball. Now I've never been a huge foosball guy (it's an expensive game to play in bars, always trading in your dollars for quarters) but I immediately became a huge fan of the game after being able to play on our own table. As per lodging, there were three really large, really well-decorated bedrooms on the bottom floor that I delegated to couples. Every couple was very happy with their sleeping arrangements. On the top floor is a master bedroom with an adjacent 1/2 bedroom with bunk beds. I gave the top floor to the single gentlemen of the group and they were all very happy with their quarters and the proximity to the game room. We spent our weekend hiking during the days, relaxing in the hot tub and game rooms in the afternoon, and grilling and playing cards in the evening. I would highly recommend a stay at the Getaway! Everyone in my group left feeling happy and fulfilled, and for the price it just can't be beat! The summer-time 3-night deal (we stayed three nights at the same cost or less than the cost of most cabins for two nights!) is out of this world. Thanks again, Gary and Karen, for sharing your home! Truly, Devin M."

  • Strawberry Creek Cabin

"If you love Yosemite, you'll love this place! The back of the cabin opens up to what looks like a mini Yosemite. The hiking areas around the property also gives you that same feel, like Yosemite, but way more private. The cabin's architecture is also very unique. The master bedroom has huge glass windows that open up to views of tall trees and a nearby mountain. Feels like you're sleeping in a treehouse, but better! At night you can see stars, trees, and the mountain all from the comfort of your bed. WOW!! The back deck has the same views, but has the charm of Strawberry Creek running just below it. The driveway entry with the custom stonework is also very charming. The property has huge boulders in the front that I also loved. The interior of the cabin is beautifully decorated and had all of the amenities that we needed to make us comfortable. We had such a great time there. The cabin is truly enchanting inside and out!"
