  • Idyllwild Cabin

"My husband and I just spent a glorious week at the "cabin" in Idyllwild. It was our third year at the "cabin" as we love the Idyllwild Jazz Festival, and we've already reserved it for next year. It is the house of wood and glass and views you only dream about. We had a tough time pulling ourselves away to go to listen to music and eat wonderful food in the village because the "cabin" kept drawing us back, whether watching the alpine glow, and the up close view of the turkey vulture and wood peckers from the veranda or listening to the breeze move the melodic wind chimes. It was quite an experience to remember. Each and every room is decorated for comfort and to enhance the experience. The kitchen, seating area and views are stellar. The owners went out of their way to accommodate us every step of the way. We can't wait to return! Marilyn"

  • Clean, comfortable, good layout for group of 6-8

"Our group fit well in this house. We were a group of 4 adults and 4 kids. As you walk in, you are faced with the stairs leading up to the kitchen, great room, guest bath, and master bath and bedroom. On the entry level floor are two other bedrooms, one with a queen or full, and one with a bunk. There is also a bathroom with double sinks, a laundry room, and access to the garage. We had a great time at this place, whether it was playing games or cooking meals (the kitchen is a tad small if everyone is trying to get in it at the same time), but there is a counter with bar stools to hang out while the cook cooks. There is a fun shuffle board game, and tons of games and books on the shelves. There is a Wii, but bring your own games. In the garage is a nice quality ping pong table, which we had a blast playing. The garage is empty, so you can store your car or bikes or luggage or whatever in it. This was nice, as most rentals don't grant you access to the garage. You can walk from this location to the zoo, or just take a stroll around the neighborhood. The view from the balcony is of a tennis court, which wasn't totally picturesque, but we did use the balcony to BBQ, and sit in the sun. One of the best parts about this place was the big long dining table with bench seating. It was very inviting and just a great place to hang out and play games and talk. We had two teens stay in the downstairs room and two younger kids stay on the pullout couches upstairs. It worked out great. There is also a baby gate on the top and bottom of the stairs, which I appreciated even though our kids are older, with it being a strange setting, I felt better that no one would wake up and stumble down the stairs in the middle of the night. The welcome packet emailed from the hosts had great info about nearby hikes and restaurants. Great wifi. When necessary to get in touch with the owners, Stephen was readily available, and very accommodating when I requested early check in/late check out."

  • Beautiful home, very child friendly

"Our family stayed here along with another family for a weekend getaway, and we loved every minute of it. The home is possibly even nicer than pictured - beautiful, open kitchen/dining/living area, very large master (our daughter slept on the floor next to us and we still had plenty of room to walk around,) and the bunk bed room was perfect for the littles - and very well insulated to noise. The master jacuzzi tub was amazing, and the hot tub was such a nice treat. The house has tons of games, puzzles, movies, etc. and was uber kid friendly (we had a 2, 3, and 4 year old in tow). We look forward to staying here again in the future. Thank you!"
