"Merlot property offer wonderful space for large group of people, family or event offering plenty of privacy and room. Lovely setting and grounds. Enjoyed and used the pool table, ping pong table, hot tub and kids did shuffle board. Close to wineries and other parts of Temecula. Good location. Worked very well for our family trip and family gathering.

"Oh my goodness, did not expect such a beautiful and comfortable log cabin. Hey Troy, the pictures don't do justice. We were shocked at how spacious the cabin is, as well as the beautiful property that we were on. You have a beautiful 360 view of the mountains, and are so close to the wineries. The drive to the cabin is amazing. The attic (not pictured in detail) includes a huge couch, beautiful TV, and is spacious. Don't forget about the couch downstairs that transforms into a bed. This cabin comfortably sleeps 6, and more of you bring a blow up and blankets. Thank you Troy. We will be back!"

Gorgeous Home...Gorgeous Location...Wanted More Daylight Hours
"The weekend was for high school girlfriends to get together and hang out without too many distractions. A hotel would split us apart, but the house was PERFECT! The pool is amazing! The kitchen accommodated us perfectly as a gathering spot, and there was plenty of room if you wanted a little privacy.
It rained the first night we were there, which was great for the lovely landscape! The weather brought in ants, but that's to be expected. The following day was BEAUTIFUL! We hung out by the pool, barbecued steaks on a chef's quality grill and eat alfresco. Again, the outside seating accommodated our group...and then some.
There are some wonderful wineries close by. The house is not too far away from stores and gas, but far enough that you feel the relaxation and remote feeling of being in the country.
The only reason for not giving the home 5-stars is that the WIFI wasn't operational. This meant our Pandora streaming, emails and surfing was data draining. I fortunately brought my personal hot spot so I could do a little work, but again...data draining. I was told it was unplugged, but I checked that and the lights were functioning. I reset it several times. I understand how routers work, the critical path of installing and resetting, and nothing was working.
I also recommend instructions for using the television in the house manual. It's very complicated with five different remote controls. Again, once I was clued in how to get the receiver on (only via remote), then the logic of getting everything to operate fell into place. But, I was the only one out of all of the guests that could figure out how to operate and switch between the TV and DVD. Instructions would have helped quite a bit.
Last thing, a 4pm check-in and nearly an hour orientation to the property really cut into our a day that we paid a full rate for. There are no exceptions to the check-in time. The 11am check-out is fine in that it gave us plenty of time to strip the beds and clean the house before packing the cars to leave; but it would have been nice to spend more time the first day. Especially, since the last day is spent making sure the housekeeper has little to nothing to do so you're guaranteed to get your deposit back. Just know that two nights really means...two nights. You only get one day!
Other than that...the weekend couldn't have been better!!"

"We had a wonderful stay at this "wine country cottage". We came from the hinterlands of Montana to visit our daughter and three year old grandson and you could not have asked for a better place to stay. Sandi and Steve were exceptional hosts and the cottage was perfect! They had a swing set, a tree house, a sand pit, a jail and numerous other toys in their back yard that were perfect for our grandson. We easily traveled from here to the San Diego zoo, Laguna beach and other adventures in the area. We could not have been happier with this unique and inviting cottage. Lastly, I am currently in a wheelchair and though not specifically designed for people with disabilities, it worked out well for me. A huge thank you to Steve and sandi.
