"This home has the most amazing view you could ever ask for! Truly breathtaking! The view, combined with the large deck and great, central location makes this house a winner! Mary Lynn, the owner, is lovely and so helpful and easy to work with, and the home is very comfortable, has everything you need and is close to everything. And we loved the Dollar Point amenities - perfect for families! And did I mention the VIEW? This home also has a beautiful grassy yard and, bonus for my kids, a WII! One of our best vacations ever! We will be back!"Guest: JJ Date of Stay: June 2012 Review Submitted: September 6, 2012View listing
"This was an ideal place to spend the Christmas/New Year's Holidays for three gnerations of a family (6 adults and 6 children ages 6-12). There was ample room for all of us, including the ability to seat all 12 of us (tightly) at the dining room table. The house does sleep 12 with 4 nice sized bedrooms and a pull out sofa-bed, as well as a loft with two beds. If there are a lot of young kids, I would suggest bringing sleeping bags rather than using the loft, as it requires going up a ladder and there is no bathroom there. The owners have really paid attention to the smallest details--the kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, glasses, silverware, etc. to feed more than 12 people, there is a wine cooler, board games for all ages, and an outstanding hot tub that easily held six of us at a time. Perhaps the most outstanding part of the house is its location. There is a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire Lake Tahoe from the windows and the upstairs and downstairs decks. There is even a telescope for stargazing on clear nights. Dollar Point is just on the outskirts of Tahoe City, and is a 14-20 minute ride to the major Northshore ski resorts (Northstar, Alpine Meadows, Homewood, and Squaw Valley). All-in-all, it was a terrific vacation rental, and I commend the owners for the obvious pride that they take in making their renters welcome and comfortable. Also, they were delightful to deal with."Guest: Glenn B. Date of Stay: December 2013 Review Submitted: January 4, 2014View listing
"Thanks for sharing your home with us. We had a wonderful time, even our fur baby. The home was just as pictured. We loved sitting on the patio playing games in the sun. There was more than enough rom for our group of 8 to sit in the living room on the cozy sectional and recliners, too. My kids loved the ping pong table in the garage and I loved the protected lawn areas in the front and backyard. It was great for our dog and little one to have a defined boundary to not cross. The BBQ was nice and worked great for grilling and the kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils and items needed to serve a meal. We loved the private beach and had a great time playing volleyball. This is a great place to summer in Tahoe."Guest: Toni D. Date of Stay: August 2013 Review Submitted: August 28, 2013View listing
"The Swedish Chalet was just as advertised... making for a wonderful setting to celebrate a very special occasion with our family. There was plenty of space for all. The kids loved the loft and bunk beds down stairs, while the adults enjoyed the privacy of the many bedrooms. They also loved the variety of toys they discovered in the cabinets. We enjoyed relaxing on the large deck and using the BBQ. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed. The owners were super helpful in resolving our internet connectivity issues when we first arrived. The house was clean and well-maintained. The clubhouse amenities were great, we got much use out of the community pool, tennis courts and yes, caught some crayfish from the beach pier. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this property our friends."Guest: David Date of Stay: August 2013 Review Submitted: September 21, 2013View listing
