"Better than a hotel. This lovely home just two blocks off the main road has everything we could desire in a weekend retreat for two. It's comfortable and stocked with everything needed for kitchen and bath. Oh, and spotless! Cute backyard, deck and hot tub (also very clean). We had fun playing the bumper pool. A very easy walk to restaurants, bars, shops, marina, beach and walking trail, yet in a very quiet neighborhood. We will definitely return, next time with family as there is plenty of room. Mike and Lyn were a pleasure to work with every step of the way, very professional and with attention to every detail."

Unsurpassed views of Lake Tahoe and the National Forest
"We stayed in this beautiful home over Christmas and the home's location over the National Forest with sweeping views of Lake Tahoe provided a magical holiday for our family of five adults. We enjoyed the decor and the midcentury architecture of the home which provided amazing views from all the main level rooms and nice views from the bedroom on the lower level as well. It was very comfortable for all of us, including my son who is in a wheelchair. He is able to walk and on Christmas Eve when the family of five deer came to graze on the grass and vegetation on the hill, he was able to walk out on the deck and watch them eat. It was magical! Later that day, the snow fell, covering the trees below the house with forest as far as the eye can see. We could not have written a better script for the holiday.
We had good skiing and the house is close to Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley. We used the trail just outside the door of the home to hike in the forest. At night, we sat in lounge chairs on the deck and found constellations and shooting stars after playing games and doing puzzles (provided by the house). There are two perfect tables for eating and playing games, one of which takes in those sweeping views.
We woke up early each morning excited to watch the beautiful sunrises from such a wonderful vantage point. The owners have filled the house with all the comforts for their guests from cozy, soft throws to wonderful long burning wood for the fireplaces. The kitchen was stocked with so many more dishes than we are used to having in a rental. We had fun cooking and serving with them at the holiday. The library of books added to our enjoyment as we read about Tahoe, found recipes, read about Twain and shelves full of books to tempt us into the chaise with a throw by the fire.
We enjoyed Christmas Eve dinner at Sunnyside restaurant and recommend the elk dinner with scalloped potatoes and the smoked macaroni and cheese was pretty amazing too.
We had no problems with the road or the driveway despite the snow and ice. The driveway was plowed on Christmas morning.
The owner was very helpful and friendly with all my questions. Needless to say, we highly
recommend this house."

"The pictures don't really do this property justice. The view from the clean updated deck is fantastic, and the nearby trees provide just enough shade when you need it. Architecturally this is kind of like mid-century modern meets cozy rustic Tahoe. The master bedroom is on one side and the two smaller bedrooms on the other, separated by the large open living area in the middle with the kitchen facing the lake. The property is situated at the end of a large open cul-de-sac that backs into open forest with only a couple of neighboring homes. So if you have small children with bikes they can safely ride around and you have comfort in knowing there's no through traffic. The downhill walk or bike ride to Sunnyside, the Tahoe House or even Tahoe City is fun and simple. For return bike rides you'll probably want to just walk your bicycle back up the hill at the end, but my middle-aged legs managed it once or twice (with the right gear of course). There is some traffic noise from the main road below, so this is not a location if you want complete Alpine peace and seclusion. However, the view and conveniences more than drown out that imperfection. We'll be returning again for sure!"
