  • family vacation

"My family just spent an extended weekend at this great house. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. Kitchen was fully equipped and there were lots of towels. My grandchildren especially enjoyed playing and floating in the Truckee River which is right below the house, with stairs going all the way down. It was great to sit on the deck and be able to watch them. They enjoyed warming up in the hot tub afterwards. If you are there on a Thursday night, be sure to walk into town and be a part of "Truckee Thursdays". Food, music, and lots of craft booths. We spent a day at Lake Tahoe and a day at Donner Lake. North shore Lake Tahoe is only 20 minutes away. We hope to return soon."

  • Great place for a snowboarding weekend

"We were five young professionals looking to spend a weekend around the Donner/Truckee area to snowboard and relax. It's a short drive from downtown Truckee and Boreal/Sugar Bowl and a few other small lifts. There's a nice hot tub/lounging area, and the condo comfortably fit all five of us, was cozy, heated, and the instructions were clear and detailed. I could ding half a star for small nuances like: the canned/packaged food in the condo happened to be mostly expired, and there are no towels nor sheets (explained in the paperwork), but I'm looking for a nice, cozy place to spend a weekend, not a five star hotel. This fit the bill, and I would stay here again."

  • Sparkling!

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your home in Tahoe City. The location of the house was quiet with a gorgeous neighborhood for morning walks, the trails right out the back door for a wander down to the lake shore with our dog, the trees protected the back deck from most of the wind and yet we had cool breezes and sunshine aplenty, and the small fenced area enclosing the deck, stairs and a small yard area allowed our dog some outside time to watch the squirrels, chipmunks and cottontails. Inside, the windows were sparkling clean (what's your secret?) as was the rest of the house, everything was cozy with all those wonderful seating areas (both inside and out) where small groups can congregate to visit, play games or sit quietly for a good read, the furniture and plentiful lamps made each area comfortable and user friendly, the beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms convenient and well appointed - loved the upstairs shower! - and the kitchen was great. We loved the decor and spent time in every room enjoying mementos of your favorite things in life: faith, family, pets, nature and Christmas. In spite of the smoke from the King fire, we dealt with very little of it indoors. The house stayed pretty much smoke free even on the haziest days. We explored around the lake a little and want to come back again to hike to Ellis Peak a little better prepared and make it all the way to the top. We'd also like to make an October trip for the salmon spawn at Taylor Creek and bring our fly fishing gear for some trout fishing on the Truckee River, or at least practice our techniques. Thank you for keeping in touch with us before, during and after our stay, and for your hiking area recommendations."

  • A Little Piece of Heaven

"My husband and I have been renting this cottage for over a decade now. It is a little piece of heaven for us, always clean, well maintained and so charming. The cabin location is perfect, just a short walk to the lake, amazing areas to hike and bike and a quick drive to downtown Truckee with adorable shops and great dining options."
