  • FAMILY Home and Great Base for Skiing Northstar

"This home is beautiful and very welcoming. Its large size and open layout were perfect for the children to run about and even play hide-and-seek. The puzzles, games, books and magazines kept everyone entertained, and the number of bedrooms and bathrooms easily accommodated two families (another couple could have joined us without any space concerns). We enjoyed cooking in the spacious and well-stocked kitchen and had the fireplace going every evening. The shuttle was extremely convenient, and the short ride to the slopes made it an excellent base. We had plenty of snow for skiing. The owner provided information via email, as well as at the house. The only drawback was the recreation center pool. It was outdoors, but we had already paid the fees when we discovered it wasn't. It was too cold for the children. We had a wonderful time. Thank you for a very easy and comfortable stay!"

  • Perfect for two families!

"We stayed for 3 nights at Carraig Nua and it was great. We were two families (4 adults, 4 kids ages 9 to 12). The set up for this type of situation was perfect! There are 3 bedrooms on first floor (one master queen with HUGE bathroom, one queen bedroom and one room with 2 sets of bunk beds). We had everything we needed! The 3rd floor loft was great. The kids played/hung out up there and we could talk and relax in the living room. The place is clean, not overly cluttered with knick-knacks, and furniture was comfortable to sit and read/watch a movie. The kitchen was well equipped- (even had a ton of cutting boards so we could all help make dinner!). The location was up the hill from lake level but that was fine with us. Very quiet neighborhood. There are hiking trails directly behind the house that we explored/walked one day. The owners obviously take great pride in their home and it shows. Although we know the area very well, the binders that are at the house describing activities and restaurants were great. Perfect for those who do not know the area. The supermarket (Save-Mart) is very close and has everything you need. We had dinner one night at Tahoe Mountain Brewing, Co in Tahoe City and it was perfect for our group. We skied at Northstar but snow was not great so the third day we took the kids to the ropes course at Grandlibakken (very close- 10 minutes away) which is usually a Summer activity- but it was open last week) We have rented many houses in Tahoe and this was in our top 5- for sure! We would definitely stay here again!"

  • Spring Break Fun at Big Horn

"We have stayed at about 10 condo units in the new village over the years in Big Iron, Iron Horse Lodge, etc and this by far was the best equipped, cleanest, most upgraded one we stayed at. We greatly appreciated the comfy beds, how clean it was maintained, everything was at our fingertips and the unit was so well stocked with supplies - we usually have to buy our own tinfoil, bring baking gear, cooking pots and they had everything and then some (kitchen aid mixer, espresso machine, spare everything so you didn't have to resupply on your own). I loved the lighting. Many of the new village units are so dark inside it's hard to see - they put a ton of lighting up and nice upgrades to the furnishings and tv's that make it so enjoyable. I also loved the layout of the living room - instead of it being cramped with too much furniture, you have to crane your neck up to see the tv because the sofa is so close there was room to relax and for my children to play. I think in terms of location - Big Horn slopeside on the top floor is the best - you're away from the noise of the village compared to the other units, high up that it has a beautiful view and is nice and private and only steps from the gondola. We are so excited to stay again soon!"

  • Great House and Accommodating Staff

"We had a great stay and were very pleased with the property. What really stood out was how flexible they were with a last minute reservation. The house was all set and the weekend went without a hitch. Thank you."
