  • Great group house

"Great for a large group! My friends and I rented this house out for a 6 day 7 night period in Jan. There were ten of us (all 30-35 yrs old, young professionals), and this house was absolutely perfect for our needs. Inside, this house was huge and very welcoming to a large group. There is easily enough room to sleep 10 people. There is a large living space on the main level that we spent nearly all our time in. The main room is equipped with a pool table, television, and opens into the kitchen. The living room has multiple couches, large fireplace and large dining table. It also opens up to the back deck and meadow. The back deck was very nice with chairs, tables, and of course the hot tub. The kitchen had every ammenity we needed as well. The other great thing about this house was the location. We were only a mile or two from the Lake. Same with the distance to the casinos. At the end of each night, we had a very short cab ride home. During the day you get a substantial amount of sunlight on the back porch, and although the house is in a neighborhood, it still seems to be a very private house and we had no complaints. As a new group of renters we were definitely a little weary of renting a place that may have been too "delicate" for that many people. While this house is very well decorated and has a lot of nice furniture and other amenities , it still feels comfortable enough to be able to relax in and not constantly worry about whether you're going to break something. I would recommend this house to any group of friends, and honestly, I think it would be perfect for a large family or group of families on vacation with kids. Its homely, well maintained, prime location, and truly delivered on everything promised!!!"

  • winter family vacation

"We had our family vacation here this weekend and it was excellent! We all really enjoyed the stay. The house was great, plenty of space and the heated floors throughout the house were awesome. The owner was great to work with and got back to is quickly with any questions we had."

  • Perfect Location

"My family and I spent the News Years week and really appreciated being right in the village steps from the rink and the fireworks. While we were relaxing & drinking our coffee in the mornings getting ready to walk to the Gondola, we noticed the streaming crowds of people coming from the buses below our deck. My wife's favorite bakery/store with all of the foodie goodies, Earthly Delights, is just across the walkway. We never had to use our car as it was safely parked below for our entire stay. It was basically zero hassles...we will definitely book this condo again."

  • Perfect place for family getaway -- (Again)

"We've stayed at this very comfortable, well stocked, warm, cozy house twice now and both times it was 5 stars. The owners take pride in making their cabin a true home-away-from-home oasis. The kitchen has more than you could possibly need, games and puzzles and movies etc for both kids and adults, wifi, a HOT TUB, towels, washer/dryer etc. The little hill behind the house is a fun mini-sled hill for the kids (when there is snow) and a cool place to explore (when there is no snow -- like this recent FEB-2015 trip). We also walked to Trout Creek rec center (since there was no snow and it was fairly easy to walk along the cart path of the golf course). It was a fairly easy walk for my 8 and 6 year olds. The snow park was transformed into a "grass/lawn park." They had a bounce house, Frisbee golf, and all sort of other little games set up for the kids. I would say also that this cabin/house is enormous for a family of 4 and easily could sleep 8 as suggested. The loft is a good play area for the kids! The wood burning stove heats the cabin so well that you will never be cold! We love Tahoe Donner and we love The St. John's Retreat. We really needed some R&R and it certainly delivered (again)."
