  • Perfect location !!

"I got married last weekend in Lake Tahoe and needed a big place for some of the family members to stay with us. I searched online and stumbled onto this property so I contacted the owner and it was available for my dates. I was skeptical because at the time it had no reviews and I'm a yelper!! Sure enough I mailed her a check and that same week she not only mailed me a key but a map on how to get there. (Driving to Lake Tahoe was a nightmare, there was a fatal accident and we did not get to the cabin until 11pm on Friday) I ignored the map and mapquested the address. BIG MISTAKE!! the roads were closed, eventually I pulled out her map and sure enough made it there. It's very close to restaurants, Heavenly Skii Resort, and grocery stores. I drive a Corolla and needed chains to get up the driveway but my other fam did not with their SUV. The parking is wide and log enough for multiple cars. The house was very clean, and once the heater kicked on the house warmed up nicely, so much so that in the middle of the night we were warm and toasty. There were more than enough beds, extra mattresses in almost every closet, extra sheets, lots of towels, a good selection of movies, lots of firewood, and many dishes to feed an entire army on. I felt at home there, nice and cozy. The only complaint I would have is that we ran out of hot water rather quickly the day of my wedding and everyone needed to take a shower but that's expected anywhere. The area is beautiful, I'm from the Bay Area and had not been to the snow in years!! I'm so glad we stayed there, and I hope to return soon. There's even a bbq pit thing inside! and a huge grill for the outside. The fireplace is huge, we found lots of board games to play and even a dog leash to tie the kids up with (jk) we forgot ours. We had an amazing time and thank the family who owns this cabin for sharing it with us!"

  • Comfortable, Cozy, Updated Cabin, Great location

"My family of 5 and dog had a wonderful stay at this cabin during ski week. The house was stocked with all the amenities a family needs, was beautifully clean, and had simple, tasteful cabin decor. The location was excellent-away from main road with woods for back yard, close to hiking trails down the road. My kids loved the pool table and hot tub and they played for hours while my husband and I relaxed. Would like to come again. Thanks for sharing Bear's Den! The Blanchards"

  • Great Experience!

"This cabin was wonderful! We stayed for a week in July and before our trip was over we began talking about when we could come back. We were very fortunate and were able to return for some time around Labor Day. We're already planning next year's trip! Before our first visit, we were a bit concerned about noise since the cabin is near Lake Tahoe Blvd. However, the inside was very quiet, and the street quieted down at night. The cabin is located within Tahoe Meadows. This is a great place to go with kids. In the summers, there are kid activities (arts, crafts, s'mores, skits, hikes, teen movie night, etc). This is not day care, but it is fun things for kids. Many kids and parents enjoyed playing "baseball" in a meadow. The rules have been changed so kids of all ages can have fun without pressure. One of my favorite activities was chatting with the other families on the beach while watching the sunset. Each one was amazing! The cabin is a very comfortable small house. It has many of the amenities of a modern home -- microwave, TV, phone, etc. However, if you're seeking granite counter tops, this is probably not a good match for you. This is an older home with character and history. We enjoyed grilling and eating our dinner on the large deck in the back. Among other things, the kids enjoyed spotting rabbits hopping in the back. This is a special place for families. It's beautiful, peaceful, a short distance from the water, and yet still close to restaurants and casinos."
