  • Great location and VERY dog friendly

"The house has a tile floor, so the fact that it was raining and there were muddy paws, it was a easy clean up. The back yard is completely fenced and gated. The access to the lake is so easy, and a lot of people there with dogs, special area for the dogs at the lake. The house is small, but well set up to enjoy your time there. I appreciated the "extras" in the cupboard, coffee, salt pepper, some other spices. And lot of pots and pans, plates, etc. if you are going to cook. We were told that the wood stove was "tricky", but we had no issues getting it going and keeping it going, they had lots of wonderful firewood. With a blower on the woodstove, it made the cabin very cozy, even with the cold outside. We ventured out quite a bit because of how centrally located the cabin is to either South Shore, the ski areas, and Camp Richardson. Nice neighborhood to just go for a walk and look at all the houses decorated for the holidays. We really enjoyed our stay and will probably rent again because of the location and dog friendly nature."

"We enjoyed every minute of our stay! Everything was definitely as advertised or better! Very comfortable, decorated nicely. The view from the upstairs was incredible to wake up to and so close to the lake you felt you were in it. We were on the upstairs and downstairs balconies for coffee in the morning and wine in the afternoons. Even though this is part of a condo complex, it was designed to have a very private feel, never heard the neighbors. Beds were very comfortable ( and I'm tough to please). Kitchen was very well equipped. Unit was close to all of the Tahoe area activities. We enjoyed a drive around the lake and hiking. Best restaurants were Macduffs Pub and Base Camp Pizza. Thanks again Melodie for sharing your home!"

  • Even Better than we had hoped for!

"My sister and I stayed here for a few days of rest and relaxation. It was ideal for the two of us. Lily was great at getting back to us and making sure our questions were answered timely. The home was very clean and everything we could think us was provided for, (including lots of towels, a hair dryer, soaps and shampoos, cleaning products, etc.). The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with baking and cooking equipment as well as paper goods. There is a Safeway market nearby to get anything else you will need. We loved the garden that led up to the lake. It was very peaceful to sit outside on the patio and have our morning coffee. The neighbors were very kind, quiet, and respectful of our privacy. Even though the water level in the lake was very low, we found a silver lining..... We had our own private beach! Everything was so close that we could walk almost everywhere we wanted to go. Yet, the home was far enough off the main road to make it feel like we were in the woods. The neighborhood is well cared for and we felt very safe. We walked to the small town and rented bikes from the Tahoe Bike Company. They were terrific, reasonably priced and provided us with maps of great trail rides. We also took the gondola at Heavenly. Spectacular views and great hiking at the top as well as a really fun ropes course, zip line, and tubing. Get there early to zip line. It sells out quickly! There is a public beach, (also walking distance), which has kayaks and paddle boards to rent, an ice cream store, live music and events. If you are a sweet-tooth, don't miss the Bear's Den at the Ski Run Marina. They have lots of souvenirs, but the best part was their almond roca and fudge! The lady that works there is really passionate about Lake Tahoe and she can give you the low down on everything that is happening around town - just ask!"

  • Simply Amazing

"The place was absolutely incredible. All we had to bring was ourselves! The kitchen was simply magnificent. We've stayed in a lot of nice hotels, but the ambience was warm and inviting. It felt like our home away from home. The owners did an amazing job on the design and presentation of the unit. Every room, corner, and space eloquently positioned. My friends and I had a wonderful time. We relaxed all weekend by enjoying the views of the lake and spending time shopping. Thank you for providing a perfect place to spend my birthday weekend."
