"We had the pleasure of staying at this Tahoe Gem in July 2015. My wife and two boys, ages 15 & 12 truly enjoyed at our stay at the Leal's vacation home. The home is spacious, four bedrooms and sleeps 12. We have rented many homes in the Tahoe area over the past 20 years and one of my wife's pet peeves is cleanliness. This home was immaculate in every way. The owner met us on arrival and guided us through every aspect of how everything works and what was available. The living area was large and comfortable, the bedrooms were comfortable with TV's, with premium cable in every room. There is a hottub on the deck that was very clean and worked well. The yard is very large and we enjoyed owner provided Croquet and Badminton. One of the best aspects is the home is located on the Upper Truckee river, where my boys caught crawfish and swam in the swimming hole and played in the water. Unlike many Vacation Homes in Tahoe, the nights are stone quiet and very peaceful without all the traffic and related noise. If you are looking for that old Tahoe charm and experience, where the property truly exhibits an owners pride of ownership check this property out. We will be back"

"We had 10 people (6 adults - four kids) and really appreciated the spacious cabin. Nice big modern kitchen, large bedrooms. One of the highlights was access to the river right from the backyard, and spent many hours playing with the kids there! Nice secluded area. The owner was a pleasure to work with. We will be back again soon!"

"I am not exaggerating but Steve is a really nice person to work with. I was a bit reluctant to finalize my plans since almost every other weekend rain or thunderstorms were predicted. Well after having a little one, we have to make sure that we can stop at will. But as soon as we made up our minds, I contacted Steve. Luckily his property was still available. It was going to be very late in the night to reach tahoe, so Steve made sure that the house was accessible and lights were turned on so that we could get in the house easily. The house has a rustic cabin feeling but in a good way. It is spacious. 4 of us and our little one had plenty of space to ourselves. The house has everything including utensils, pots, bread toaster you name it. There are also some spices, salt etc. We cooked only once. The pool table upstairs was in a good condition. There was a ping pong table top which we didn't use. The property was true to it's description in the posting, in fact much better in person. There were soap bars, hand soap, lotion, plenty of towels and many more things. Also, unlike many other rentals, at least this is what I have read and personally had to do once at another rental, we didn't have to put the linen or towels in the washer. Only things we had to do, when we left, were putting the dishes in dishwasher and start the dishwasher then put the trash out in the containers inside garage.
When I spoke to Steve on phone, I asked him if we have to carry our towels or also if there is anything else let me know now. Steve's reply was "You just have to show up." I laughed when Steve told me that but it was literally a matter of showing up and enjoying vacation.
Lira's grocery store is about 2.5 miles away. Stock up there if needed.
At the end of our trip, we felt that we were not doing justice to the beautiful property by staying only 2 nights. We even pondered extending vacation by 1 more day. But beating traffic the next morning and reaching office would have been a nightmare. So with heavy heart we didn't extend the stay. Steve was generous enough to let us stay beyond check out time since getting our little one ready took a while. We reached late on the day of arrival so Steve even told us that we could stay until dinner on the day of departure if we wanted to, which was a nice gesture on his part. Even for the slightest of issues Steve is a phone call away and takes care of it immediately. Thank you Steve. We will definitely be back."

"If you have a tall family look no further, the Timber House is the place for you! This lovely rental is very spacious and has large furnishings. With its high ceilings and doorways, there's not a chance anyone could ever bump their head on anything here. Even the shower heads are mounted high. In every room you will experience a feeling of openness, nothing is cramped. Even all the bedrooms have large walk-in closets. We loved that the Timber House has 2 master bedrooms. This home has a modern feel with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops in the kitchen, but still maintains a log cabin sort of feel with its hard wood floors and railings. We prepared most of our meals at the house, and it was great working in such a large kitchen. We would definitely stay here again."
