  • My family loves this house!!

"Plenty of room for the whole family. Lots of beds and space. The kids bring their bikes and ride around the cul-de-sac. We BBQ and hang out of the large sun deck. We even sneak out of the golf course to look for lost golf balls. It's like an impromptu easter egg hunt. Rates are fair and the owner is easy to communicate with. Thanks Art and family! We'll be back soon!"

  • great place

"We stayed at the cabin with our grown children, 1 young adult a 19 month old and 2 dogs, yet we never felt cramped or on top of each other. Well stocked kitchen and great games and toys for the baby. The hot tub was most appreciated and the location was great. We ended up not even bothering with skiing but taking walks directly from the cabin and exploring the Truckee River and found a hidden lake and waterfall walking the other way! We will definitely be back and recommend to all."

  • Family Vacation

"Lazy Bear Lair was the perfect house for our family vacation! We were not disappointed in our expectations of the house and its forest setting in Meyers. It definitely is a luxury home! In addition, this house was probably the cleanest of any we've stayed in. Our family has shoppers, beach lovers, hikers....We all were able to enjoy our interests and didn't even find time to go to the casinos!! Those of us who hiked even experience a bit of rain and hail on our way back. Great experience!! I would recommend this house to anyone who can use stairs. Three levels makes that a necessity."

  • Our Favorite Stay

"This was our fourth year renting in the South Lake Tahoe area and the best rental by far. In fact, I'm afraid to promote it further, as we hope to rent again next summer. The house offers the perfect blend of personal touches (lovely art work!) and ample space for everything you might bring on your trip. (Having stayed in homes where there's barely room to unpack, the empty walk-in closet was a wonderful surprise.) The home was spotless upon arrival, and we found everything just as described -- from the well-equipped kitchen to the comfortable pillows. The owners are incredibly thoughtful! The proximity to hiking/biking trails can't be beat -- go out the front door, turn left, and a few hundred yards later you're on the trail. The only downside was by the second week our dog would insist on heading to the trail every time we stepped outside. The neighborhood is very peaceful, and the neighbors themselves were welcoming. Everyone we met loves living where they are, and though we only stayed for a month, we fell in love with the area, too. It took about 15 minutes to get to Lake Tahoe, but even close are Fallen Leaf Lake and the Echo Lakes. Both offer spectacular hiking and views. We can't rave about this home enough -- please go, but save a month for us to return!"

Meyers Travel Tips

Make Meyers Lodging Your Fishing Retreat

Lake Tahoe has some of the best trout and salmon fishing to be had in the United States. Lake fishing in pristine waters or fly fishing in nearby streams will make your angling dreams come true. Planning your fishing getaway begins with choosing a great home base, so be sure to check out Meyers lodging first when looking for a place to stay. [ Lake Tahoe vacation rentals]] let you wake up to great mountain views with easy access to all of the best fishing in Lake Tahoe. Meyers cabins or rental homes can accommodate your after-fishing needs, providing full kitchens with refrigerator and freezer. Cooking fresh-caught fish in your own kitchen is a mouth watering option that can't be found at a hotel or inn.

Getting Ready to Fish at Lake Tahoe

A fishing license is required to fish in Lake Tahoe as well as the surrounding streams and the Truckee River. You can fish with a California or Nevada license, which may be obtained at most local sporting goods stores. Fishing is year round except for streams draining into the lake. Spawning fish make stream fishing off limits from October through June. During these months anglers must stay 300 feet from the mouth of these streams. Daily fishing begins one hour before sunrise and must end one hour after sunset. There is a daily limit of 5 trout. Search the Internet or check local fishing shops for advice on the best fishing spots close to Meyers lodging.

Making the Most of Your Fishing Vacation

Many fine charters and guides are available to make your trip a success. Boat and equipment rentals are readily available, but plan ahead and reserve the equipment you need. Meyers cabins are close to the fishing and to local outfitters, making it the perfect place to stage your daily fishing excursions.
