  • Could not have found a better home to rent for our family Christmas

"My extended family and I found this property in April and knew that we had to sign up as soon as possible in order to secure for our 2014 Christmas Holiday. The house is beautiful. The large, open kitchen, which is fully stocked with every utensil and equipment you could need, was perfect for cooking and entertaining. Our family has four small children who loved having the run of the house and their choice of bunkbeds. The movie and board game collections ensured that none of them had the chance to be bored. We received a couple of inches of snow on Christmas eve that was enough to give the kids a chance to sled for hours outside. Located on the west shore of the Lake, we had easy access to both Emerald Bay and Sugar Pine State Park for short hikes and great views. Joe, the property owner, was very easy to contact. His prompt responses were always thorough and helpful. The next time our family will need a large home for a visit to Tahoe, we have no doubt on where we want to stay!"

  • Comfortable and good value

"This house was just what we needed for our young family and dog to take a ski vacation. Great open plan living, dining, kitchen area meant we could all hang out with the big stone fireplace and talk, play games, cook, watch videos. Well equipped with relaxed furnishings so we we could let our dog, 3 year old, and 6 year old feel at home. 3 good sized bedrooms and two bathrooms gave us plenty of room. We had a great time going on snow walks in the neighborhood, sledding at Granlibakken, walking the lake in Tahoe City, and first kids' ski school (and time for parent skiing) at Squaw."

  • Great Cozy Cabin!

"What a wonderful weekend getaway at this cozy little cabin! Everything we needed was right at hand. We loved hitting the slopes during the day and getting cozy by the fire each night playing games. It was the perfect getaway for our entire family (which included our two teenage daughters and our dog). Our teenagers especially loved that there was internet. Thank you...we will be back!"

  • A very nice house with a couple of caveats

"We have been renting houses annually in the area for more years than I can remember so we know what we want in a rental home. The house is in a nice quiet location. There was sufficient parking for five cars. When we arrived it was clean which I can't always say is the case for other houses we have rented. The kitchen is very nice above average quality appliances. It had a good variety of utensils and gadgets. The non-stick pots and pans are of good quality and not scratched which was refreshing to find. It has a good knife set so I didn't have to use the one I brought. The kitchen/dining/living room area forms one great room which is where our extended family spent most of their time. There were plenty of bar stools and seating around the dining table to accommodate our group of 7 adults and 5 kids at meal times. The living room area could have used another chair but we brought one in from the master bedroom. The master bedroom is upstairs and it's huge. A nice feature was a long table and chair with a lamp. If you need more than three plugs for your electronic gear you should bring a power strip. It is good place to escape to when the grandkids get to loud. The other two bedrooms and the rec room were small but adequate. A plus was the expendables like toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, etc. were supplied. Now for the caveats. The queen bedroom didn't have a true dresser and lacked sufficient drawer space. The drawers in the master bedroom dresser were all difficult to open and close and it is in need of repair or replacement. The closet in the master bedroom was a postage stamp. It had at most 36" of hanging space because what is probably a nice walk in closet had been partitioned off by the owners. To get to the hooks behind the door you had to squeeze into the closet and then close the door enough to get behind it. While annoying it was sufficient for our needs. Overall our family enjoyed their stay. We won't be back only because we are looking for more bedrooms next year."
