  • Great cabin for large group of friends!

"We stayed as a group of 14 young winter sports fanatics and enjoyed this cabin thoroughly. It's 30 min away from either Northstar or Heavenly ski resorts. Plenty of room for everybody, you can have a bunch of people in the hot tub, some more cooking within the highly practical kitchen area and yet some more playing games in one of the 2 large living areas, all at the same time. This cabin is spacious! Everything is in good shape, functional and well maintained. Plenty of parking space too, and the possibility of sitting everybody around the same table for a nice fondue... Owner is responsive and access is real easy. Highly recommended."

  • Pure Relaxation

"We spent a wonderful long weekend, sitting on top of the world with views, quiet and a hint of winter in the air. What a wonderful retreat, away from people, noise and traffic. This house is truly a home. The fireplace provided a warm, cozy evening for reading a book and, playing card games and enjoying the family. We will definitely come again."

  • Magnificent home perfect for large groups or anyone trying to disconnect...

"I rented this home for a corporate retreat. Our group was a total of eight people. The owner Joe was very nice and helpful when setting up the rental. He was easy to reach via phone or email with questions or exchanging the rental documents and checked in on us before and after arrival to be sure everything went well. The security deposit was also returned very promptly. This home truly has a calming effect from the moment you walk in - as if in a place so comfortable and beautiful it is hard to carry any stress. It is a gorgeous natural wood with an open concept living room, dining room and kitchen that feels very spacious. There is a great attention to detail in the house from the copper sinks to the little bear decorations that pop-up throughout the house. These all culminate in a feel that is refined yet homey. The best part of first arriving though is the view from the upstairs deck. The house is perched on a hilltop and from the deck you can look out over the tree line directly to Lake Tahoe - even catch a sunrise if you get up early enough. The home has a second den area downstairs which came in handy when the group broke up a bit to do different things. This home also has a great mix of rooms with Queen or King size beds (5) as well as having 2 rooms with four bunk beds each. I could see how it would be great for a group of couples or families with kids. There is plenty of room for everyone to feel like they have their own space. Hot tub, grill and a large driveway to park multiple cars is also a plus. The house is extremely close to a lot of great hiking in the area. It is literally only minutes from Desolation Wilderness where you can construct a hike anywhere from a pretty leisurely stroll to a full day or overnight backpacking trip. Our group went for the full day hike and were rewarded with great views and a good workout. It was a major plus to be so close to great hiking trails. One note - the closest major grocery store is a 10-15 minute drive. I would recommend trying to do your shopping in one trip and just stocking the place. Also, the house didn't have any basics stocked (salt, pepper, sugar, etc) so be sure to pick those up. Ultimately, our group had an amazing experience. We were all brainstorming reasons in the end for why we would rent the home again. I would wholeheartedly recommend this property to anyone looking to rent a vacation home in the Lake Tahoe area."

  • Colorado guest

"The house was very much as advertised, just better. The kitchen was well equipped and even had a set of quality knives, something you rarely find in a rental house or condo. The renter's notebook answered almost every question we had and the suggestions on activities and restaurants were very helpful. Moreover, the information was all current. Access to the Meeks Bay beach was via a trail of only about 400 yards. The Meeks Creek trailhead into the Wilderness area was less than 1/2 mile away and the bike path to Sugar Pines State Park was about 200 yards out the subdivision entrance. This house could not have a better location for an active group. The house itself was in excellent condition with all systems working well. The view from the main deck and great room was outstanding. For our group of 8, the house was excellent and contributed significantly to a fantastic week at Lake Tahoe."
