West Shore Get Away
The property manager was very helpful.
The vacation rental was spotless.
I was happy with the location.
I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
We had a great vacation on the west shores of Lake Tahoe and were very pleased with our selection of this property. The home was more than adequate, well away from the main drag and with comfortable rooms, lovely decor and quality furnishings that created a visually pleasing and relaxing environment. Everything was clean and in wonderful condition. We appreciated access to everything we needed to make ourselves feel right at home. We do recommend top-of-the-line toilet plungers in all of the bathrooms to manage the idiosyncrasies of the low flow toilets required in California, but other than that, we could not have been more pleased. In addition, the two people we interacted with at the rental office at the beginning and end of our stay were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Future renters will want to know that the property is not nearly as secluded or private as the photographs depict. While this did not deter our fun, we were surprised that there were houses within ten feet on both the north and south. No window coverings on the north side made it possible to become acquainted with the neighbors, whose saws and hammers were busy all but two of our eight day visit. We were gone most of the daylight hours, they were courteous about not starting their work before 7:00 am each morning, and it was a neighborhood setting, so we took it I stride. We would recommend the property to others - after the work next door is complete. Even though it was our first visit to Lake Tahoe, it didn't take long to figure out that the west shore was a great location, away from commercial distractions, close to state and national parks for hiking and sightseeing, and with just enough of a small town feel to leave our city lives behind. We came to understand why everyone smiled and told us how much we would end up loving Lake Tahoe. Now we're the ones with stories and smiles!"

"We brought out family and dog up for the weekend and had a wonderful time. Easy access to hiking and the lake. They had an outdoor movie night in the community that was fun. Hot tubbing while looking at stars was enjoyable. The tv and stereo systems left a little to be desired, but everything else was perfect."

"My wife and I stayed here for a Labor Day weekend getaway. We really enjoyed our stay and found that the cabin was equipped with most of what we needed. The cabin is well kept and very clean. The only downfall is that you do have to bring your own bed linens and towels so if you're traveling that's extra baggage. The cabin is very dark inside as the lighting is pretty outdated, but there are windows that can be opened to let natural light in. We were very impressed that the cabin has both cable tv and free wifi. The location of the cabin is outstanding as it is very close to several great hiking trails, Vikingsholm, Emerald Bay, Heavenly, and Squaw Valley. Overall, this was a great place to stay!"

"This house was just what we needed for our young family and dog to take a ski vacation. Great open plan living, dining, kitchen area meant we could all hang out with the big stone fireplace and talk, play games, cook, watch videos. Well equipped with relaxed furnishings so we we could let our dog, 3 year old, and 6 year old feel at home. 3 good sized bedrooms and two bathrooms gave us plenty of room. We had a great time going on snow walks in the neighborhood, sledding at Granlibakken, walking the lake in Tahoe City, and first kids' ski school (and time for parent skiing) at Squaw."
