  • Christmas 2014 in Chalet de Huttlinger

"My family and I had the most wonderful time staying at Chalet de Huttlinger for Christmas 2014. Corrine was so welcoming and very accommodating. She even had a bottle of wine and some treats awaiting our arrival. We had a relaxing Christmas spending time in front of the fire and were even treated to snowfall Christmas Eve and Christmas morning - a true white Christmas! We loved the location, just a few blocks down the road was Sugar Pine Point State Park and it was gorgeous in the snow! The guys enjoyed a day snowboarding at Homewood just a few miles down the road. Chalet de Huttlinger truly felt like home away from home!"

  • Great cabin, but futon very unconfortable

"We really enjoyed this beautiful cabin and the little neighborhood of Tahoma. The cabin had a great feel, was clean, and fulfilled nearly all our expectations. The only negative was the futon in the second bedroom. It was of very low quality and was unsuitable for an adult to sleep on. Otherwise, fantastic."

"I can't write enough good things about this place. We rented at the end of August on the seven days leading up to Labor Day and feel incredibly lucky to have landed here. The cabin and property are as pictured, hovering just feet above lake level. There is a degree of seclusion here that other places in Rubicon Bay probably don't have - most of the other large homes are packed in (one upon another) along the road - with this property, though, you are close to your neighbor, you don't feel it at all. There is a unique blend of modern convenience (USB plugs and LED lighting in the bunkhouse, good water pressure in the shower and lights across the whole property for night time) and rustic qualities (these are real cabins, the main cabin was built in the 1930’s). What really struck us is the way this place is built, with multiple areas where you can spend time (main house, porch, 2nd porch, bunk house, beach / fire pit, dock) - there were 5 of us here and we never felt like we were crowding one another. We also found ourselves spending time together in different places across the week (though probably most on the beach by the fire pit) which contributed to the sense of constant discovery and changing environment that you typically welcome on a week's holiday. As for activities, we also rented a power boat from the owner - and this brings a dimension to the experience that we would wholeheartedly recommend. The boat is moored right off the dock - we spent almost every day boating to either D.L. Bliss park, Emerald Bay, Chambers, Sunnyside or simply speeding in circles dragging a tube (also rented). The owner really goes out of his way to be accessible - making our entire experience very user friendly and stress free. My wife and I are fortunate enough to have vacationed in some great places from Thailand, to the Caribbean, to the Mediterranean, and this rates up there with the most memorable - Tahoe is truly a world class summer experience if done right - this cabin / "glamping" experience is absolutely a tremendous way to do it."
