Great cabin, but futon very unconfortable
"We really enjoyed this beautiful cabin and the little neighborhood of Tahoma. The cabin had a great feel, was clean, and fulfilled nearly all our expectations. The only negative was the futon in the second bedroom. It was of very low quality and was unsuitable for an adult to sleep on. Otherwise, fantastic."

"While we live within 2 hours of the West shore of Tahoe, we had never been to the Tahoe area for the 4th of July before, and were lucky enough to rent this cabin for the 3 day weekend. The house and location are simply GREAT! Very clean and well appointed. Comfy beds and fantastic views from the deck. We walked down to the pier(that takes a minute to get to) and watched 3 different fireworks shows on the 4th.(well, 4, if you include the people a couple of docks down shooting off "bonus" fireworks !) We also walked to dinner at Westshore Pizza(very good!) and BBQ'd out on the deck on the 4th. Hiked at Eagle Falls and Vikingsholm at Emerald Bay. This stay was so relaxing and beautiful. Ross, the owner, was very punctual about getting back to me prior to the visit about a few questions I had. The lot is a great size and since we drove 2 cars up, we appreciated the ample room to park. It was very actually very private, as it is fenced in all around the property. We look forward to renting again. Thank you Allford family, for sharing your home with us! We all loved it!"

"My family and I just checked out today of Chalet de Huttlinger and we are already sad our time there is over. There are so many positive things to say! To begin with, the owner Corinne is a gracious host. We walked into her lovely home to find a bottle of wine and fresh flowers in several rooms. Corinne does a wonderful job at making you feel like you are family staying at her home. Having just returned from Paris a few days prior to our stay in the Chalet, I have to agree with the other reviews: the French decor is spectacular! We had several friends staying nearby that popped in for visits and everyone of them could not stop swooning over the decor and layout of the home. The kitchen is so quaint and Corinne does a great job of utilizing every space well. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were stocked with toiletries, bathrobes, hair dryers and even curling irons. The neighborhood is quiet and there is a great little market only a mile away that has most everything you need. This home does not feel like a rental home, but rather a good friend's who has great taste."

Highly recommend..excellent family vacation rental
"Three generations of my family spend Memorial Day weekend enjoying this wonderful cabin. Our first vacation rental was in the late 80's, so we've seen everything from good to great and this is in the great category. It was super clean, well appointed, and had comfortable seating, and lacked for nothing that was essential and then some. Plus the owner is very responsive. We had a question about the heating and had a texted answer in maybe less than 20 minutes. That underlines the fact that the owner cares about her property AND the renters.
Our two grandchildren, ages 5 and 7, were delighted to find all sorts of games - perfect for this game and card-playing family. We didn't discover additional games until later so be sure and check out the cupboard underneath the kitchen island. The layout of the home is such that it lives large.
The kitchen was well stocked with equipment needed for cooking...including french toast one morning. Please note: there is no food of any kind in the home and that includes salt & pepper. The Tahoma Market is a short distance away and carries the essentials. The beds were comfortable and linens and towels plentiful. The kids loved sleeping in log beds and the older "kids" enjoyed the hot tub right off their bedroom.
We did not try to find Chamber's Beach but the kids loved being at the Sugar Pine Park beach and walking in the woods behind the area in which the home is located. As for the oldest generation, we hit the road to South Lake Tahoe for sightseeing along the way and a wonderful lunch at Riva.
Our personal preference is to rent from owners who post reviews. We do rent from management agencies but no more from owners with no reviews. While it's not fail-safe, we feel more confident reading current reviews from other renters."
