  • Wonderful Escape from the Rat Race!

"Wonderful place, clean, comfortable beds, and lots to do! We just returned from a week at Ma Ah Mee. My whole family was there, and we had a great time just hanging out. It's walking distance to a great store with an amazing Deli, the water is wonderful, (bring your water shoes, the shore is hard on the feet). We brought a boat to tour and water ski, which we did in abundance. This year the water is low, but the lodge provides a rowboat. Fishing is so-so on Lake Tahoe unless you know what you're doing, BUT: there are Crayfish everywhere under the dock or on the two rock- jettys. Give the kids some string with a piece of lunch meat tied on. Go about dusk, and you'll have dozens in no time! I think the whole family had more fun gathering crayfish than almost any other activity! I've never had them before, but find a good recipe, and they made a great tasty happy hour snack! If you want to keep them overnight, or just use a trap, go to the hardware store 4 miles up in Tahoe City. Across the street is a decent pizza joint, and a good Gelato stand. Next door is the local park and there are kid friendly movies most summer weekends. Lots of hiking and biking nearby. OK, I'm bouncing around, but the lodge is a great place for a large family to reconnect, play, and recharge. Thank you!"

  • Wonderful small apartment cabin

"We loved this little apartment. Very quiet and comfortable. Its basically three rooms - one bedroom which also has the kitchen in it, a bathroom and the master bedroom. The owner lives upstairs and was very helpful and quiet. Everything in the apartment was great but what we really enjoyed was sitting outside amid the trees, the quiet, birds, chipmunks and ground squirrels running around which are very entertaining. Another plus is the location of the place which is mid way between Tahoe City and South Lake Tahoe. The lake is about a 15 minute walk away. The path down there can be a bit difficult to find. You need to walk through the state park next door."

  • August stay

"We enjoyed our stay in August. Our granddaughter was married at Sugar Pine Park, so the location was perfect. The cabin was more than adequate for our needs. Very comfortable and a great kitchen arrangement. We highly recommend it!"

  • Excellent Luxury Cabin

"Wow, wow, wow!! Just came back from a wonderful stay at what I can best describe as a luxury cabin - feels like you're staying in the woods among nature, yet everything is top-notch luxury...amazing view of lake, it was so nice waking up each morning to that beautiful view through the extra large windows... well stocked home with very high quality everything, including: towels, hand soap, toilet tissue, mattresses, home finishes, furniture, kitchen, etc. all high-end brands... We were a group of 10, but never ran out of towels, toilet paper, paper towels, mugs, plates, utensils, etc. We loved the layout, 2 stories was perfect, only 1 set of stairs, dressers in each room, location is private (no neighbors close by), and less than a minute drive down the hill to the lake, etc...Indoor ping pong table was great... Home was very clean, instructions provided for operating everything... and just felt like the owners took care of the home well. The location on the west shore was great as well, we were able to explore both north and south parts of lake Tahoe easily... Matt from prop. mngt company Tahoe Luxury Prop. was great to deal with, answered (many) questions quickly and willingly, and mngt company was overall great, early check in, late check out, and all other requests were handled swiftly and professionally. Would definitely rent this place again. Thank you for sharing your home!!"
