  • Great Winter Season in the Fir Top Studio

"I drove north to Lake Tahoe from Los Angeles and stayed two months in the Fir Top Studio, my friends stayed in the main house so it was a perfect way to spend time with them yet have my own place. The studio is very clean, very well furnished, and was just like being home for the winter season. Ski resorts are 5 minutes away and the lake is just a few minutes by foot. It is a very beautiful home located in a very quiet, wooded neighborhood. Had a great time and will definitely return!"

  • Giant home with amazing views!

"About 15 of us came up to celebrate my 28th birthday from Friday-Sunday. Anna was great and sent me the keys beforehand so we were all set to go (instead of getting there and fiddling with a lockbox or something). The stairs are a little rough, so I don't recommend it for people who can't handle a few flights. The main door opens to a big entryway, plenty of room to unload stuff, though I wish there were some coathooks and more mats for wet jackets and boots. The indoor woodroom is awesome, no going out in the snow for firewood! The two bedrooms downstairs each have a queen and 2 sets of bunkbeds, and there is a full bathroom and half bath down there as well. The top floor is where its at- 3 giant couches and a recliner, a big fireplace, TV and big dining table, perfect for games! The kitchen is updated with granite counters and new appliances, and the house is fully stocked with extra paper towels, TP, etc. There was a even a blender and a crockpot!! There are 2 bedrooms upstairs with a queen bed each and a bathroom. Remember to bring sheets and towels! But lets get down to the deck. The deck is AMAZING!! Views of the lake and all the trees covered in snow. We didn't get to spend much time outside but it was nice to wake up, grab some coffee and be able to look at the snow coming down. The place was really easy to get to you, as you come in on the 89 there is a SaveMart on the left hand side for any last minute stuff and all the roads are generally clear. You get to drive right along the lake and the house is high enough for an awesome view but not hard to get to. And, its pet friendly :) 10/10 would stay here again! Thanks Anna!"

  • JPS

"I can't write enough good things about this place. We rented at the end of August on the seven days leading up to Labor Day and feel incredibly lucky to have landed here. The cabin and property are as pictured, hovering just feet above lake level. There is a degree of seclusion here that other places in Rubicon Bay probably don't have - most of the other large homes are packed in (one upon another) along the road - with this property, though, you are close to your neighbor, you don't feel it at all. There is a unique blend of modern convenience (USB plugs and LED lighting in the bunkhouse, good water pressure in the shower and lights across the whole property for night time) and rustic qualities (these are real cabins, the main cabin was built in the 1930’s). What really struck us is the way this place is built, with multiple areas where you can spend time (main house, porch, 2nd porch, bunk house, beach / fire pit, dock) - there were 5 of us here and we never felt like we were crowding one another. We also found ourselves spending time together in different places across the week (though probably most on the beach by the fire pit) which contributed to the sense of constant discovery and changing environment that you typically welcome on a week's holiday. As for activities, we also rented a power boat from the owner - and this brings a dimension to the experience that we would wholeheartedly recommend. The boat is moored right off the dock - we spent almost every day boating to either D.L. Bliss park, Emerald Bay, Chambers, Sunnyside or simply speeding in circles dragging a tube (also rented). The owner really goes out of his way to be accessible - making our entire experience very user friendly and stress free. My wife and I are fortunate enough to have vacationed in some great places from Thailand, to the Caribbean, to the Mediterranean, and this rates up there with the most memorable - Tahoe is truly a world class summer experience if done right - this cabin / "glamping" experience is absolutely a tremendous way to do it."

  • Great vacation getaway.

"This property is as described plus. The kitchen is equipped with any appliance and gadget you might need. There are plenty of games and movies to keep you entertained. There is a great private deck. I can't think of anything you might need or want that is not there."
