"Our family consisting of grandparents, two adult children and two grandchildren and one small dog had a fabulous time in Lake Tahoe the week of 4th of July 2014. Ruby's Retreat was the perfect home for us, offering all the amenities we needed and was a short walk to the Sunnyside marina and resort area and just a quick ride to Tahoe City for groceries at Save Mart. (Reasonable prices) The cabin was clean upon our arrival and the beds were quite comfortable. The downstairs sofa/TV area was very comfortable and ideal for our family of six. We loved the deck and BBQ'd and ate several meals there. The upstairs did get a little warm one night but the owner, Dawn, graciously offered to reimburse us the cost for fans. The owners are quick to respond to questions and are very helpful. I suggested that instructions for use of the TVs and DVD player would be helpful for the tech challenged--though Franz made a good effort at talking us through the process. This is a great location on the West Shore where all the sights and activities Lake Tahoe offers are a short ride away. We highly recommend lunch at West Shore Café in Homewood and Pizza at the Lakeside Pizza in Tahoe City. We loved Ruby's Retreat and much appreciated the personal attention of the owners. We would definitely recommend this rental."Guest: Grammy & Grampa Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 5, 2014View listing
"Grandma and Grandpa, Mom and Dad, and the two Grandsons had a wonderful stay. Things are near by. G/G walked from the house to Sugar Pines State Park. We hit several other parks along the lake for hiking, swimming, picnicking and seeing the sites. The boys, 8 and 5, attacked Eagle Falls trail like they knew what they were doing. Later, I thought I saw a few more gray hairs on Grandma's head. There's a great little museum on the Sierra Nevada College campus in Incline Village which is all about The Lake. Sitting out on the deck at the house among the magnificent trees was spectacular."Guest: Grandma and Grandpa Chico Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 28, 2014View listing
"We just stayed at your cabin last week (left 8/21) and we had a blast! The nearby biking was gorgeous. I am having trouble reaching you. I am wondering if you found a Kindle in the house after we left. Could you send me an email letting me know? Thanks!"Guest: T Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 26, 2014View listing
"I really enjoyed staying at the house. The top floor really feels like you are surrounded by trees and lake view. The dining table and kitchen are great. and the fireplace is great but don't forget to get your own wood. (no wood at the place). The two bedrooms upstairs are very nice. The downstairs feels a bit more underground and it is fine for sleeping. If you were to be a lot of people I think the room would be too crowded unless you have a bunch of kids. The bunk beds are very close to each others, (the bottom bed and the top bed) and you need to hop to the top bed. That would be my only complain."Guest: Lyra W.
