Clean, Cozy and Charming Getaway at Manhattan Beach, CA
"Great getaway studio apartment, well maintained and very clean. We loved the access to the washer/dryer and the housekeeping every two weeks. Well stocked kitchen with many pots and pans. Just steps to the beach, we hardly missed the gorgeous sunsets. Neighborhood was very quiet and friendly. The Wi-Fi, dvr and TV was very much appreciated. We would highly recommend this location!"

A great deal for location and # of bedrooms, but not quiet
"We were lucky to be able to get this place for a last minute getaway to Hermosa Beach. Positives: Location is fantastic - a short walk to the beach and it is a very nice, clean beach (compared to parts of Rondondo and Venice Beach) with low traffic in the neighborhood so great safe walking and biking with kids. 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms are really hard to find near the beach, so that was great. Home is well-stocked with bikes, umbrella, beach chairs and boogie boards - very useful! Price was excellent and it was available last minute. Negatives (and Judi did disclose these up front, so we were fine with it for the price): The carpets and couches are quite worn and don't look clean. The couch is probably clean but is worn and stained, so I preferred putting a sheet over it so it felt cleaner. There is alot of noise at many different times of the day and night - from neighbors doing repairs, party-ers, and major construction next door. Construction is starting on an open lot next door so it is loud and there are trucks coming in and out of the alley and sometimes blocking the garage. They move if you need to come in and out but it is a pain to ask and wait (this happened on a Saturday morning, some neighbors had likely complained, the community police came and the crew wrapped up by noon). On the Friday night we were there, there was a rowdy/loud/late party a few houses down and you can hear it all even with the windows closed. On the whole, this property is not a tranquil and pretty place where you would want to spend alot of time trying to rest or relax (at least until construction next door is complete), but it is a great "home base" for someone who is interested in being out and about alot (as we were)."

"I stayed here while I was working on location in LA and it quickly became my home away from home!
I worked long hours and it was the most relaxing place to be when I had time off. So quiet when I needed to sleep and so close to the beach so I could take long walks in the morning and enjoy the ocean and sun. It has so many fabulous reading areas. My favorite is the area near the windows facing the walk street. So peaceful. And a fireplace and a hot tub and a grill!
The bed was one of the more comfortable mattresses I've ever slept on and they provide excellent sheets and plenty of towels.
I'm from nyc so being able to walk places is very important to me. I could walk to Abbot Kinney in 5 min where I had many coffee options (blue bottle and Intelligentsia) and great food and shops. Every Sunday morning I would also walk to the Santa Monica farmers market which was 15 min max and a nice walk. I cannot wait to come back! I am almost hesitant to post this review because I want to keep it a secret. The place is also clean and well designed/decorated and the owners are so attentive when you need them but otherwise leave you be.
I will be back I hope in the near near future."

Stunning Life-Affirming View of Pacific, Charming Ambience, Convenient Location
"I stayed here on business and found this ocean-view home a great value for the Los Angeles area. A French Country-style getaway, this rental pretty much offers a 180 degree unrestricted western view of the Pacific Ocean that goes from Catalina Island on the south to the northern tip of Malibu. The home has three bedrooms and two baths. It's very comfortable, clean, well-maintained and "classy casual" in decor; very livable. Once you are inside or, better yet, sitting on its west-facing lanai, you are transported to a timeless and peaceful place; it's really hard to imagine you are living in one of the world's major metropolitan areas. By day, I'm a busy media and advertising executive; when I come "home", this house is a perfect haven or retreat for peaceful reflection, inner healing, or bringing out that creative writer in you! It has a two-car attached garage and is in a very walkable, safe, and peaceful neighborhood. Most anything you need for shopping or living is located within a few minutes drive; you never really have to leave the neighborhood. It's an incredibly difficult place to give-up once your stay is over (sigh)..."
