Shelton's on the Island just keep getting better!
"This is the second time in two years my husband and I have stayed at Shelton's on the Island. What impressed me was the new paint, carpeting and drapery that made the unit even more bright and inviting! Of course, Jeanie was waiting for us at the boat to drive us and our luggage up to our home-away-from home. When we departed, we wanted to have breakfast before getting on the boat. We ate and walked down to the dock. Jeanie was waiting for us with our luggage! What a wonderful way to enjoy the magic of Avalon!"

"We stayed here for a week for my niece's 18th birthday and loved it. We were treated well and had everything we needed. Adorable place with a little French flair to it. Convenient to all the tourist sites and walking distance to the grocery store and some restaurants. Thank you Mary and Eugene!"

"The house is large and quiet, despite immediate proximity to Ventura Blvd and highway 101. Things we loved: each of the 4 bedrooms has its own full bath and the rental agent was very easy to reach and responded to my inquiries promptly. There are 3 bedrooms on the 2nd floor, and the 4th one is on the 3rd floor. It doesn't have a door, so we put the kids there. The top floor also houses a ping pong table, very fun! The eat-in kitchen is well equipped and the yard is very pleasant -- although we didn't use it much, it was too cold. The house is equidistant from everything, it seems. It took us about 30-40 min to get to all attractions: Griffith Park, The Grove, Pasadena, LACMA and Santa Monica. There are plenty of grocery stores within a 10 min drive.
Please note, that while the house comes with plenty of linens, towels and kitchen utensils, you need to bring your own paper towels, dish soap and, most annoyingly, toilet paper. The owner did provide hand soap, thank you. My other big pet peeve is that the wifi is REALLY slow."

"This apartment is in a fantastic location, so close to beach. Felt safe and secure always. With 3 teens we still had plenty of space. The apartment in August was so hot though even with fans as no air con. We were upstairs and there was a patio table downstairs which the family in the downstairs apartment seemed to think belonged to their apartment, even though on our information it said communal, they left towels and clothes all over the table and chairs at all times which made it awkward for us to try and use it. This didn't spoil our stay at all though as we ate out most of the time, but maybe should be made clearer to the downstairs apartment users. The apartment is so well equipped there was nothing you couldn't find in one drawer or another. We were from Uk and couldn't figure out the tv so maybe a small guide would be useful. Overall a great spacious apartment in a great location. Would recommend to anyone looking for a base close to beach."
