Fantastic Beach vacation
"Highland House was perfect for my family of 4. Beautiful walk to the beach and everything we needed to enjoy ourselves when we got there. Shops and restaurants just a short walk away, we parked the car in the garage on arrival and didn't take it out for 4 days! We will definitely be back next year."

"Hello Dani, thank you once again for a wonderful stay in Malibu. We enjoyed every minute at this house! The view was terrific and we could observe whales and dolphins while having our breakfast at the balcony. The house is fully equipped so you feel like at home. Its als suitable for children as we were traveling with a little baby.
Thank you and we will recommend you here in Germany."

"Check in was quick and easy! Cottage was exactly as described! Carmen was very welcoming, and gave us some places to visit that I did not know about during our stay! Awesome hostess! It was clean, and well maintained! The cottage was a little warm, it was 95-98 degrees during our stay, and no fans in the cottage! We did keep all windows open though, and it helped a little, but a fan would have been nice! The cottage location is in a residential area, and you can hear vehicles go by, but it gets quite after 9 pm (If you like to go to bed before that, buy ear-plugs and you will be fine). The first night me and my husband was there, we did hear a whole phone conversation late one night, since all windows in the cottage were opened, and you have to keep them open since the cottage has no ac or fan.
The cottage is also within walking distance to the beach, about a 10 minute walk! Also, if you have your own car, Carmen does provide you with a parking space in the back of the cottage, and you can also park in the front of the house, when you find a parking spot!
If you like to cook.... the cottage has dishes and pans, everything you need in the kitchen! Had a good time at this cottage, but my only suggestion would be to put up curtains in the kitchen and bathroom, even though it was a shower curtain preventing someone looking in! Other than that...I would definitely stay again!"

"After a 14 hour flight from Australia, my husband and I were tired and a little disoriented. But we had no trouble finding our way into the cool peaceful bedroom of this apartment after a short taxi ride from LAX--Tina made it all so easy! After a few hours of restful sleep, we went exploring, and that's when we realised what a great choice this apartment had been. It's in such a beautiful neighbourhood, and so close to everything. We walked down to the beach, along the waterfront, and watched the sunset from under the pier. Then we wandered up to Third Street Promenade and found a great Mexican rstaurant for tapas and margaritas, then dinner. And then it was an easy walk back to the apartment. The apartment itself is beautifully appointed, in a lovely building with only a few other guests--who we never saw or heard. Over the next few days, we walked a few blocks down Montana Ave and did some shopping at the Pavilions supermarket (wine and antipasto mostly for us!), had a great Italian dinner at Spumoni on Montana (delicious gnocchi!), and even enjoyed a wonderful massage at The Massage Place on Montana. Our most memorable meal was probably brunch at Huckleberry Cafe on Wilshire Blvd--Green Eggs and Ham to die for! And every day we made our way to the beach or Palisades Park (two blocks away) to watch the sun melt into the Pacific. Magical!
Honestly, we were only looking for a few quiet days in Santa Monica to recover from the flight--a jumping off point for our five week trip to the US--but instead we found ourselves enchanted by this homey apartment, in a gorgeous neighbourhood, wishing we had more time to explore LA from here. Next time I guess :) Truly the best welcome to the US we could have asked for."
