"Lupe and Rick were very easy to reach and handled all very well. The place was close to the beach as well as the inlet (where most people swim or tan). Everything was very neat and clean. Rick offered the use of beach chairs and even the kayak. We were visiting for family reasons, and this place was nice for a combined travel reason of family visit and vacation time to ourselves. We did not have as much trouble parking as some previous guests have, as we always managed to find at least one spot. But parking IS tight (hey, it's LA!). Weekdays are easier. Would definitely stay here again. Location and price were perfect for us."

"We had a good, if unseasonably hot for May, 11 day stay in this cute cottage. We were visiting family within easy walking distance so did not need a car. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom satisfactory and the small kitchen perfectly adequate for the needs of the three of us. The kitchen units were in the original style of the house but the appliances were modern. There is an efficient washer/dryer.
Outside there is an enclosed deck at the back with seating, a small porch at the front with table and chairs and a shady front garden - a pleasant place to sit. Greensward Road is quiet and nearby Glendale Boulevard, though busy, was not too obtrusive. You can hear the traffic on the freeway just across the LA River but it didn't disturb us.
You can easily walk to the edge of Griffith Park and, although we did not use public transport, there seems to be a good bus service to Downtown and Glendale and Glendale Station is walkable.
There is a good range of eating places, coffee shops and bars close at hand - try Bon Vivant, Canele on Glendale and the Tam O'Shanter on Los Feliz.
Kevin Williams, the owner, is friendly and easily contacted. He quickly sorted out a minor plumbing problem and promptly replaced a broken wine glass.
We didn't meet the raccoon family ;-)
All in all, a good place to stay."

"Check in was quick and easy! Cottage was exactly as described! Carmen was very welcoming, and gave us some places to visit that I did not know about during our stay! Awesome hostess! It was clean, and well maintained! The cottage was a little warm, it was 95-98 degrees during our stay, and no fans in the cottage! We did keep all windows open though, and it helped a little, but a fan would have been nice! The cottage location is in a residential area, and you can hear vehicles go by, but it gets quite after 9 pm (If you like to go to bed before that, buy ear-plugs and you will be fine). The first night me and my husband was there, we did hear a whole phone conversation late one night, since all windows in the cottage were opened, and you have to keep them open since the cottage has no ac or fan.
The cottage is also within walking distance to the beach, about a 10 minute walk! Also, if you have your own car, Carmen does provide you with a parking space in the back of the cottage, and you can also park in the front of the house, when you find a parking spot!
If you like to cook.... the cottage has dishes and pans, everything you need in the kitchen! Had a good time at this cottage, but my only suggestion would be to put up curtains in the kitchen and bathroom, even though it was a shower curtain preventing someone looking in! Other than that...I would definitely stay again!"
