"First, Helen was easy and a Gem to deal with. We arrived, everything was clean and put away. The walk down the passage way gave my wife some thoughts to ponder but after getting to the bungalow, she was good to go. Cassie (bartender)was the first one to greet us. She was very warm and inviting. She made our 1st day. She was unpacking her car with bar stuff and took the time to make sure we stopped in and saw her later that evening (we didn't due to plans but joined her later that weekend.) p.s. now she knows how to make "killer" mint julips! The bungalow was cozy, bedroom was large enough with a good comfortable bed. The loft had a bed also and was used by my son after a night out and no one wanted to drive. The kitchen is small but had the essentials. We were very busy so the TV was off most of the time but had a good picture and sound when we did use it. The bikes were a play. We rode down to the beach every day (no parking expense) and just locked them up. Pretty cool. The decor is early american Venice with a very colorful palette - it was fun. We will stay again if we get back there in the near future. Very much worth the $$. DO NOT MUCH FOOD - very small frig (beers and water for the most part)"

"I stayed here while I was working on location in LA and it quickly became my home away from home!
I worked long hours and it was the most relaxing place to be when I had time off. So quiet when I needed to sleep and so close to the beach so I could take long walks in the morning and enjoy the ocean and sun. It has so many fabulous reading areas. My favorite is the area near the windows facing the walk street. So peaceful. And a fireplace and a hot tub and a grill!
The bed was one of the more comfortable mattresses I've ever slept on and they provide excellent sheets and plenty of towels.
I'm from nyc so being able to walk places is very important to me. I could walk to Abbot Kinney in 5 min where I had many coffee options (blue bottle and Intelligentsia) and great food and shops. Every Sunday morning I would also walk to the Santa Monica farmers market which was 15 min max and a nice walk. I cannot wait to come back! I am almost hesitant to post this review because I want to keep it a secret. The place is also clean and well designed/decorated and the owners are so attentive when you need them but otherwise leave you be.
I will be back I hope in the near near future."

"Check in was quick and easy! Cottage was exactly as described! Carmen was very welcoming, and gave us some places to visit that I did not know about during our stay! Awesome hostess! It was clean, and well maintained! The cottage was a little warm, it was 95-98 degrees during our stay, and no fans in the cottage! We did keep all windows open though, and it helped a little, but a fan would have been nice! The cottage location is in a residential area, and you can hear vehicles go by, but it gets quite after 9 pm (If you like to go to bed before that, buy ear-plugs and you will be fine). The first night me and my husband was there, we did hear a whole phone conversation late one night, since all windows in the cottage were opened, and you have to keep them open since the cottage has no ac or fan.
The cottage is also within walking distance to the beach, about a 10 minute walk! Also, if you have your own car, Carmen does provide you with a parking space in the back of the cottage, and you can also park in the front of the house, when you find a parking spot!
If you like to cook.... the cottage has dishes and pans, everything you need in the kitchen! Had a good time at this cottage, but my only suggestion would be to put up curtains in the kitchen and bathroom, even though it was a shower curtain preventing someone looking in! Other than that...I would definitely stay again!"
