  • An oasis tucked away in the heart of Venice Beach

"My husband and I rented the cottage mostly because it had a kitchen and a hot tub. We were visiting LA to see our daughter and wanted a place where she and her friends could come to hang out and eat. When we first arrived I was uncertain about the place because the parking spot is in the alley which is not the most inviting place. But once you enter the yard it is an oasis of tropical charm. We found that using the gate to the walking street was so welcoming that we only used the alley when we had to drive. The kitchen is well equipped for all kinds of cooking with a brand new grill out on the deck. Plenty of pots and pans, large refrigerator and a very good coffee pot. The grill was not working at first but one call to Byrnadette and we found the problem. She was very responsive to all our little issues and happy to help in all ways. The hot tub was well received by young and old alike. The decor is so charming. It was white vintage chic with a light airy feel. The only thing I would have changed was the dried/dead flowers on the kitchen hutch. They were the opposite of the rest of the decor. Beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of blankets for beds and fresh white towels in the bathroom. There is an extra bedroom in the back that can be rented for a bigger group. I looked in and it is as charming as the rest. We had a wonderful stay. P.S. I think you should tell your guests about the wonderful farmer's market on Sunday in Venice where you can get breakfast and on Wednesday (mostly produce) in Santa Monica."

  • Location, location, location

"We first arrive at the condo and were impressed by the ease of parking as we had a 'large car' to get into the garage. We were slightly worried it wouldn't fit but it was perfect! We chose this condo as we love the beach and had three teenagers with us and needed them to be entertained for our week on Venice Beach. Wow, you don't get bored at Venice Beach! The condo is sited perfectly so you are near enough to the hustle and bustle but far enough for it to not interfere with your holiday. The right side of the pier. Surfing equipment was in abundance. The skate park was awesome according to my 15 year old son and muscle beach... Well what can we say! We hired bikes and cycled to Santa Monica and around the canals. All very pretty. It was relaxing and lovely being on the boardwalk to watch the world go by. Only down side was the smell of the books which are probably old and with the sea air gave an unpleasant aroma but after one night we soon got used to it. The outside chairs are rusty and we would recommend you do not wear white t-shirts on them! We have been back in England for nearly two weeks now and if we could go back tomorrow we would. Thoroughly recommend this condo to any age group."

  • Perfect home from home

"My wife and i needed a few days in the sun but did not want the hassle of car hire so short taxi ride from LAX and plenty of places to walk to were our main aim. This rental fitted our needs perfectly, it was just like home only smaller of course. Frank and Sandy's hospitality was great and we had everything we needed in the suite for our few days in the sun. We walked many miles up and down the beach and found many places to eat and drink and never once felt we needed a car. The location was nice and quiet and the bed was so comfy after a days walking we wanted to take it home with us."

  • Great time had by ALL!

"We stayed at Vista Place for a week as we were in LA for my nephews wedding. There was 3 generations staying in the house and we had not only enough very comfy beds but also great together space and separate space for us all. The first night I found the traffic noise a bit loud (really only due to the fact that I live in the country, where there is NO traffic, and I sleep with the window open) but when Phyllis checked with me to see how things were I mentioned it and within an hour she had brought over a sleep machine, which to my surprise worked fabulously. There were 4 beach cruisers that got a lot of use....a great bonus, as well as games and books if wanted. The location was great as you are very close to both the beach and many great shops and restaurants. I think it was a great holiday had by all."
