  • Venice paradise!!!

"We rented this to serve as our home during our trip to Venice. I'm afraid that there aren't enough stars in this review to rate it properly. In short, the house is AMAZING and the owners are equally as AMAZING! They were extremely accommodating and sweet. Location was perfect for the beach or to head inland, and the neighborhood is lovely. We wish we could live here permanently! I strongly recommend!!!"

  • Great Location But Noisy!

"My husband and I stayed at this unit for 10 days and really enjoyed our stay. Getting to know Santa Monica and all that is offered was eye opening. Being a Northern Cali girl I was a bit jaded in my opinion of SoCal. Since our son now resides in LA we chose this apartment (only approx. 9 miles from West Hollywood) because of it's close proximity to our son. We couldn't have been happier with our choice! There is something to do for just about anyone. Lot's of healthy living on the promenade that runs along the beach. We rented bikes for our stay. Between biking and lots of walking we felt like we got plenty of exercise. People watching was very entertaining. Santa Monica is truly the center of the Universe. A VERY diverse population that somehow coexists with little judgment. Very refreshing! We loved being so close to the 3rd street promenade and boardwalk. Plenty of sights to see and restaurants, shopping, etc., without having to drive and park. If you do park, park at the mall near the promenade -- first 90 mins free and $1 total thereafter! Venice is a must see, at least once. Speaking of plenty to see -- we saw Harrison Ford at a restaurant in Santa Monica one night, and John Goodman on the streets a few days later. That was fun:) As mentioned, the apartment is very noisy so don't stay here if you're looking for R&R. We happened to be there when they were setting up for the Independent Film Awards Oscars across the street in the pkg lot. I was awakened to clanging noises early on Saturday morning when they were unloading the tent materials -- the set up went on for the full week. There are plenty of late night, drunk/stoned people on the street on the weekends, and cars turning around (illegally) right in front of the apartment. The good news is there is an assisted living facility right next door so they're pretty quiet ;) In an nutshell, I would stay here again. Loved the location, views out of the living room window of the beach, sunsets, etc, and close proximity to very busy downtown LA!"

  • Sweet, Safe, and Perfect for Families

"We stayed at this beautiful Silverlake/Atwater Property in December. I stayed there with my husband and two children, ages 16 and 9 and another friend and her two children, ages 14 and 2. We chose it because of it's fantastic location that is close to lots of cool shops and restaurants and it's situation on a quiet leafy street. The neighbours were all lovely people and when I took the two youngest children out for evening strolls they all said hello as we admired all the Christmas lights they were putting up. The house is surrounded by a high fence with a massive large sliding wooden gate which is great for privacy and security. There is a gorgeous grassy courtyard in the front with tables and chairs as well as a few kids toys. There is also a little tiled walkway with a bench and a hidden ashtray for those who smoke as the house is smoke free. The house itself was so cute, decorated with all sorts of vintage items. It was like a little art deco house with a real hipster feel. Even though it was so gorgeous, we felt totally comfortable at all times even with kids. The beds were amazing - high and plush and the linen was beautiful white cotton. Our bedroom had a little room off of it with a single bed for a child, which was great for us travelling with youngsters who want to sleep near the parents. Io the owner also brought us over a baby cot and lent us her son's pram for the stay. So thoughtful and kind. There was also a third office room that we were able to put a mattress on the floor for our oldest son so he could have privacy. The older kids were stoked with the TV projector which took up a whole wall! We were also offered discount tickets to tourist sites, given a fruit basket and a welcome gift by our accommodating hostess. At NO time did we ever feel unsafe in the house or the neighbourhood. We come from a small seaside village in Australia, population 300, and felt completely at home. Only my husband had ever spent time in Australia and we were a bit nervous about being in such a big city but it felt like we had a home away from home. We also had a huge vehicle and although there was no parking on the property itself, there was always parking available on the street and our car was totally safe. It was a worry free vacation in the big smoke! GREAT STAY AND CAN'T WAIT TO DO IT AGAIN!"

  • Extraordinary experience!

"Our group loved staying at the house and we had an amazing time. Being right on one of LA's best hiking trails was a true treat. The views were incredible and it was a perfect location - tucked away and quiet but also easily accessible to all that LA has to offer."
