  • Fantastic Place to stay!

"I took my students (10 boys with special needs) on a four day trip to this glorious house! Everything was absolutely perfect! The "forest" alone was enough to entertain the most active children on the planet! Nearby was Fort Ross which provided a day of education as well as great beach time. To say that the house was well stocked is an understatement. We wanted for nothing! Of course we brought our own food and such, but any little thing we forgot was right there for us. There were games to play, books to read and endless fun to be had outside. The home is furnished with sturdy, well made furniture that looks great. My class has taken a trip like this each year for the past 15 years and I can tell you that this is not true for most vacation rentals. Probably the best part of the downstairs is the large dining room table. We were able to accommodate all 13 of us with ease witch allowed us to have family style meals. Upstairs, the master bedroom is out of this world! The views alone make it so worth the trip! The house was clean and nicely kept. Gary and Nancy were very kind and prompt with all correspondence. I can't thank them enough for the valuable lessons they allowed my students to learn in their home. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants a great get away for a group of people. You are on a large private lot with plenty to do right there at your fingertips! Thanks again Gary and Nancy! I know that good Karma will come your way! Susan Folsom, CA"

  • Bungalow Love

"We along with another couple rented the house for the truckers parade. We absolutely loved this house. It truly felt homey to the four of us. The mattresses need to be updated. The hot tub was perfect and we really could have spent longer in the house. The parade was amazing to watch from right in the front yard. We were very pleased."

  • Best place for a Rustic Wedding!

"We recently rented the entire property including the main house, loft and large wedding barn for our August Wedding. It was such an amazing experience, if you are looking for a rustic wedding venue I recommend this place hands down. You get the whole property for three days for a flat fee (NO additional charges are tacked on later) which means you can have your wedding party or families stay on the property and make it an entire weekend getaway. Regardless if you are renting the property for a wedding or a family reunion, the place is amazing. Its large living room provides a good place to congregate and relax. There is definitely something majestic the area. Remember though, this is an older Victorian home packed with history, you are not going to a Vegas Hotel, its rustic, thats the whole point of coming here and to Mendocino in general. We thought it was tranquil during our stay and then on Saturday, the perfect place for a big wedding party!"

  • Breathtaking Beauty!!

"The moment I closed the gates behind myself upon arrival at SeaEscape, I knew I'd chosen well! From the lush gardens to the clean air to the sound of the surf, my blood pressure dropped 10 points by the time I turned the key!! The photos can't begin to convey the cozy comforts Seamus and Natalia have gathered for their guests. A fire was already laid and within 30 minutes, I was curled up on the sofa, under a soft throw, fire crackling and the surf raging below as a storm came down from Alaska! My dream come true...snug as a bug while a storm blew all around me throughout the night! I had two glorious days of solitude, roaming around the private yard and deck, enjoying the sunrises and sunsets that served to soothe my frazzled spirit before welcoming 4 girlfriends from Kentucky, Ohio, Seattle and Sacramento for our annual retreat. We all agreed that this was the most spectacular home we've ever rented from VRBO! From the well-stocked kitchen (LOVE the Fiesta Ware) to the abundant, fluffy towels and yummy bed linens, this was a home, not a vacation rental! Natalia has every imaginable kitchen gadget you could ever need and her condiment collection covers all the bases. We truly appreciated the little touches like zip lock bags, trash bags, dish soap and the personal care products, books and movies...one could literally arrive here with only a suitcase and basic food supplies!! The morning after the big storm found me snuggled in my bed, reluctant to leave my scrumptious bed and down comforter....so I didn't till the afternoon!! Great beds and linens! When I finally decided to venture out, the towns of Mendocino and Ft Bragg were a beautiful 45 minute drive North along the coast, affording one spectacular vista after another of the California headlands and the majestic Pacific Ocean. It was easy to fritter an afternoon away in the galleries and shops of Mendocino and the Harvest Market in Ft Bragg has a lovely selection of wholesome, organic food. Make sure you celebrate the charming town of Elk with breakfast at Queenie's Roadside Cafe"...best Eggs Benedict ever!! Thank you, Seamus, for making the reservation process so easy and for sharing your lovely home with us. I've found my new N California home-say-from-home at SeaEscape!"
