  • another great experience

"Returned to the sun room house for another stay and fell in love with it all over again. This house has the perfect view, in a great location and as comfortable as being in my own home. Elsie was once again very kind and accommodating."

  • Simply the best

"We have rented properties from Hawaii to Europe and all points in between. Pepperwood is simply the best. It is classic Northern California Redwood Empire strong in its styling and location. The view is amazingly close to the water yet with a level fenced in yard that young children can run and play without worry. The house is California coastal retro, yet is tastefully updated throughout. The kitchen is well equipped and the entire house is white glove clean. When we arrived a fire was already laid and ready for a match in the fireplace. The uniqueness and feel for this home is found in the fact that every angle of the yard and spaces in the home have an incredible view of the surroundings. The flock of Turkeys brought an added thrill to our two young grandchildren. The games and child friendly nature of the house such as a high chair and pack and play were so thoughtful. The location of this house relative to Ft Bragg and the Skunk Train, or Mendocino and its shops is perfect. The beaches are minutes away. Brian and Michelle were very gracious and professional in handling contracts and payments including shipping back a forgotten kid item. We will definitely be back because Pepperwood is simply the best."

  • A breathtaking view and lots of space

"It was a perfect combination of beautiful view and plenty of space for four familes to stay together. With one family with a 5-month old baby and another with 2 kids, the space was large enough to keep us comfortable. The beds were great and we were all comfortable. The furniture in the living room was very comfortable as well. The dining table held all 8 of us. I lloved the swivel chairs that allowed us to look out the window or watch TV or visit. The hot tub and fire pit and nice bonus. We saw seals playing in the ocean in front of the house. We also saw whales and dolphins at Pt. Cabrillo just down the road. This house takes every advantage of the beutiful 180 degree plus view and wrap around deck. It was the perfect setting for our family getaway and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook and enjoy great meals. I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed."

  • Beautiful views, beautiful home - highly recommend Shalimere.

"Easily the best coastal rental I've ever experienced (we hope to return)! The owner of Shalimere has a great eye for detail - every amenity is available and then some. We immediately felt both at home and pampered. The kitchen, dining room, living room, and wrap-around porch are all great for lounging and relaxing or entertaining. The home itself is lovely and beautifully decorated with an amazing view of Point Arena lighthouse and the ocean. We saw migrating gray whales just beyond the cliff on our last day (in March). Lots of great nearby beaches, rocky headlands, and wildlife (besides whales we saw lots of bird life - hummingbirds everywhere, harbor seals, sea lions, and dolphins from the lighthouse). Irish Beach is awesome, short drives to the lighthouse, Point Arena wharf, Manchester, Bowling Ball Beach, Elk, and Mendocino great for day trips and shopping/dining excursions. An all around great setting for vacation memories - highly recommended!"
