  • BEAUTIFUL HOME ON THE RUGGED SONOMA COAST

"Great home! Beautifully appointed rooms, comfortable but very elegant. Views from every room (the pictures are TRUE!) The owners are very easy to deal with, and have well maintained the property. Everything worked as promised, including the hot tub on the deck, jetted tub in master bath, laundry facilities, and kitchen appliances. We have already recommended to friends, and will check availibility first when returning to the area."

  • Perfect location

"Came to celebrate our 60th birthdays with 4 other women. The location is perfect, easy walking to all that Mendocino has to offer. The place feels like you are stepping back in time amid a storybook setting. It is very quaint and had everything we needed. It rained most of the second day but we still enjoyed the outdoors. Put our slickers on and walked the 1 1/2 blocks to local restaurants and shops. Also enjoyed the outdoor spa in the rain and the outdoor shower afterward. We all agreed one of the highlights was taking a shower in the rain outdoors.. Only downfall was the bed situation. Probably best suited for a family with small children because both loft situations very tight and not easy to get to. Would recommend bringing blow up bed to use in the living room if going with another couple. I slept in the main bed and it was very comfortable. Would be nice if they let you rent the owners quarters on the lot for another private bedroom."

  • Relaxing, Comfortable and Gorgeous

"DragonMist is a wonderful place to stay. The beautiful, private guesthouse with its two stories of floor to ceiling windows allowing the beauty of the Mendocino Coast to envelop your living space, is a definite plus. Keep the provided binoculars handy in case a whale comes by. Toni pays such attention to detail and is an overwhelmingly thoughtful host. The king size bed is very comfy and cozy with lovely linens. As a nice touch, we were greeted with a bottle of regional wine, basketful of snacks, and breakfast goodies to complement the guesthouse kitchenette. The rec room has something for everyone - pool table, ping pong, foosball, large HD TV, fireplace, fridge, even a piano!! Of course, the Jacuzzi is a treat, especially when the stars come out at night! As well as having ocean views from the guesthouse, we also like to sit on the bench on the lower level of their gorgeous property to enjoy the outdoor views. (The tree swing is also fun!!). We highly recommend DragonMist and feel we were treated like family during our 3 night getaway."

  • Not a Five-Star Accommodation

"Our 4-night stay in mid November involved 5 adults. Prior reviewers have noted the fine views, spacious dining and sitting areas, excellent master suite, etc. But this rental has some negative aspects: the second upstairs bedroom/bathroom is not en-suite, the down bedroom is rather small with a bathroom door that would not close, a shower head that leaked and a poorly-sliding screen door. This bedroom has a gas heater that was not operative during our stay (although needed). There was only one operative hair dryer in the house. Carpet and area rugs in the house are well-used and not clean. Kitchen utensils and glasses are sparse and all glasses required washing prior to use. Although of no impact to renters, the home exterior is somewhat shabby--paint is peeling and exterior shingles missing. These negatives detract from the lovely setting and views available from the house."
