  • Great location. Clean comfortable unit. Attentive owners.

"This rental unit is located in a very convenient spot for all the culinary, cultural and outdoor activities of the area. It is a duplex. The neighbors are very quiet and friendly but you can hear them going up an down the stairs, etc. as you can in any duplex situation. It was not a problem for us but if you are looking for single unit solitude just be aware. The owners are very attentive. The coffee maker pooped out and I sent her an email just to let her know and - voilà - that afternoon a replacement was on the porch. The house is adequately appointed for cooking and eating in and there are plenty of towels. The beds upstairs were comfortable. We did not use the downstairs bedrooms. The bathrooms and laundry facilities are very good."

  • Awesome Place!!!

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Home was clean and modern. Appears to me that no stone was left unturned as to the amenities and fixtures in the cottage. QUIET. We felt like we were the only people on the planet until we got into town. This is our ninth vacation cabin rental in the western U.S. and was by far the cutest rental property that we have stayed at. I would recommend it to any couple that seeks privacy and yet still be within a short drive of magnificent views, great dining and very friendly people. We hadn't been to the Redwood Coast in 40 plus years and truly enjoyed our time there. Again, thanks to RCVR for providing everything we needed to make our week there feel like we were home. I will definitely book again with RCVR when we return to that area. Manager responded on 9/27/2014: Thanks, Michael! We love it when we get great responses to our rentals like yours. It really makes us feel good to know that we are doing a nice job making sure our guests are comfortable in their vacation rental homes. Redwood Coast Vacation Rentals welcomes you back to Serene Redwood Retreat anytime! Thank you!"

  • Wonderful Stay at Whales Tale Cabin

"The Whales Tale Cabin has breathtaking views and is truly a home with all the amenities. The pictures on the website are exactly what you'll find at this home. It is clean and the location is close to grocery stores and restaurants. We traveled to Arcata, Trinidad, and the Redwood forest. Richard was a wonderful host and checked to make sure everything was ok. My son attends HSU and the home was only 10 minutes from the school. Unfortunately, we did not get a chance to use the spa/hottub, but it looked amazing and offers fabulous views of Mad River and the ocean. I loved sitting on the outside patio watching the wildlife and the evening sunset. I truly hated to leave. If we return to this area, we will definitely see if this home is available. Thank you Richard and family."

  • Lovely, Clean Home

"This is a lovely, clean home. Ann was very responsive to our short notice request. We elected to leave the Arcata Hotel in favor of a quieter, cleaner location and this is IT! We feel totally comfortable and will use this location again if in the area."

Arcata, California is a beautiful, small Northern California town nestled just northwest of Arcata Bay and north of Eureka, California. This pacific coast town is home to Humboldt State University and is a perfect place for a family getaway. Affordable Arcata vacation rentals in this city offer access to Clam Beach County Park, Arcata Community Forest, the Humboldt Redwood State Park, and over 600,000 acres of state and federal public lands for endless exploring. Consider Arcata Lodging, Which Offers Plenty of Room for Your Family to Stretch Out

Vacation Rentals available in this Northern California town can provide your family a comfortable home away from home. Most include full kitchens so you can cook your family home-cooked meals, and many also offer practical amenities, such as washers and dryers and extra bedrooms so your whole family can get comfortable and spread out. Hotels can feel a bit impersonal and after a day on the beach it is wonderful to be able to come back to your home away from home and throw your sandy clothes in the washing machine instead of having to find a laundromat or pay for an expensive laundry service. Many vacation rentals also offer things like BBQs, hot tubs, big screen TVs, fire pits, and more, which make them perfect for family get-togethers or a vacation with a group of friends.

Humboldt County Parks and Recreation Areas are Easily Accessible from Arcata

Northern California coast travel will give you the opportunity to see many beautiful coastal and mountain sites. Pacific coast county near Arcata includes 16 county parks, 13 state parks, 4 local parks, and the Redwood National Park. County parks include parks with access to boat ramps for boating adventures and river access to the Eel, Mad, Van Duzen, and Mattole rivers. The beach access parks offer plenty of opportunity for beach combing, clam digging, fishing, and rock climbing. A long stay in an Arcata vacation rental can give your family plenty of time to explore these parks, which offer some of the most gorgeous sights in the world.
